Magesi goalie Chipezeze is the king of PSL KO tournaments
The 35-year-old Zimbabwean keeper helped Magesi to their historic cup triumph with the Carling Knockout trophy.
Chipezeze now aims to help Magesi retain their Premiership status.
Mamelodi Sundowns attacking midfielder Lucas Ribeiro was the biggest winner at the PSL awards, held virtually, on Tuesday, but there was also a meaningful achievement for Magesi FC goalkeeper Elvis Chipezeze.
Brazilian Ribeiro won four awards: footballer of the season, player's player of the season, goal of the season and best goal scorer.
Chipezeze was voted Carling Knockout player of the tournament for his outstanding performances for the eventual champions, Magesi FC.

Since he arrived in South Africa from Zimbabwe seven years ago, Chipezeze has won two PSL trophies. He achieved the feat with two Limpopo clubs.
He joined Baroka FC from Zimbabwean club Chicken Inn.
After four seasons with Baroka, Chipezeze moved to Magesi FC in October 2022, while the club was still campaigning in the NFD.
The Carling Knockout individual award he received on Tuesday is the 35-year-old's second player of the tournament accolade in this competition.
He played a leading role during his time at Baroka when Bakgaga won the tournament seven years ago when it was still called the Telkom Knockout.
He led Baroka to a penalty shootout win over Orlando Pirates in the 2018 final. Chipezeze was voted as the player of the tournament.
And the affable player has done it again.
He played another starring role in the Carling Knockout as Magesi stunned Mamelodi Sundowns with a come-from-behind 2-1 win in the final in November last year.
En route to being crowned champions, Magesi also beat Pirates, TS Galaxy and Richards Bay.
After a 3-2 win over Pirates in the first round, Chipezeze kept clean sheets in the 1-0 wins over Galaxy and Bay in the quarterfinals and semifinals, respectively.
I'm grateful for the support and recognition. To be named the best player of the tournament is special for me.
Elvis Chipezeze
'Special mention also to my team-mates and the coaches, including the chairperson of the club.'
Chipezeze hopes the cup win will motivate the Magesi squad to do well in all competitions in the new season.
He added that retaining their Premiership status remains the club's primary mandate.
I'm excited, but the work must continue. It will be our second season, and consistency will be key for us.
Elvis Chipezeze
'Our target is to stay in the premier division. With the new group that has come in, we will need to push harder to have another successful season,' he added.
The new season will kick off this weekend with the MTN8 quarter-finals.
Magesi, who finished 13th last season, will get their campaign under way with a Limpopo derby against Polokwane City at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on 9 August.

Tottenham fear for James Maddison as injury overshadows Son Heung-min farewell
James Maddison suffered a serious-looking knee injury as Tottenham's pre-season tour of Asia concluded with a draw against Newcastle in Seoul on Sunday. The England international was carried off on a stretcher and looked in obvious pain after after going down unchallenged late in the game. The friendly, which ended 1-1, was otherwise notable for the emotional reception the departing Son Heung-min received from fans in his home city. Maddison, 28, missed the closing stages of last season, including the Europa League final, with a knee problem and his latest injury affects the same joint. Manager Thomas Frank told reporters after the game: 'I think sometimes in life and football things can be both beautiful and brutal – that's what we got today. 'It looks like with Madders a bad injury, and then on the other side unbelievable scenes for Son from his team-mates and the respect from the Newcastle players.' Son, 33, confirmed this week that he is to leave Spurs this summer after a decade at the club. The South Korea international, who wore the captain's armband, was given a standing ovation and a guard of honour from players of both teams when he was substituted in the 64th minute. Brennan Johnson's deflected strike gave Spurs a fourth-minute lead but Harvey Barnes levelled before half-time.

Milan agreement gives Liberali to Catanzaro for 50 per cent of fee
Milan have agreed the sale of youth team and Italy Under-19 talent Mattia Liberali to Catanzaro, keeping a 50 per cent cut of the sell-on fee. The versatile attacking midfielder only turned 18 in April, but is already a regular for the Italy Under-19 side with 10 caps, scoring four goals. A product of the Milan youth academy, he was supposed to step into the Under-23 team this season, but their relegation to Serie D made that inadvisable. Liberali would have no playing time at Milan MILAN, ITALY – DECEMBER 15: Aaron Martin of Genoa is challenged by Mattia Liberali of AC Milan during the Serie A match between AC Milan and Genoa at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on December 15, 2024 in Milan, Italy. (Photo by) He had been working with new coach Max Allegri and the senior squad during pre-season. Instead, they have decided to sell him to Serie B club Catanzaro, where he should be able to get more regular playing time against stronger opposition. According to both clubs have signed and exchanged the documentation, so he just needs to undergo a medical and sign the contract. Although this is a permanent transfer for practically nothing, Milan retain a 50 per cent cut of the future sale fee. Liberali's contract had only been due to run at San Siro until June 2026.

Former Panthers draft pick retires on Sunday
A hog molly has called it quits on his football career. As announced by the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday morning, offensive lineman Dennis Daley has been placed on the reserve/retired list. The soon-to-be 29-year-old played his first three NFL seasons with the Carolina Panthers. Daley, a Fort Lauderdale, Fla. native, was drafted by the Panthers in the sixth round of the 2019 draft. The University of South Carolina product went on to start nine games at left tackle as a rookie. The 2020 and 2021 campaigns saw Daley start in 12 of his 20 outings for Carolina. In addition to left tackle, where he recorded 924 total snaps as a Panther, he also lined up at left guard (336 snaps) and right guard (124). Carolina, in August of 2022, traded Daley and a 2024 seventh-round pick to the Tennessee Titans in exchange for a 2024 fifth-rounder. That fifth-round selection was eventually traded by the Panthers to the Indianapolis Colts in their move up for second-round running back Jonathon Brooks. Daley would then go on to pick up stops with the Arizona Cardinals (2023) and the Jaguars (2024).This article originally appeared on Panthers Wire: Former Panthers, OL Dennis Daley retires
