Robert Downey Jr. hints at Jeremy Renner's return in ‘Avengers: Doomsday' set-photo

Express Tribune14-05-2025
Speculation is swirling around Jeremy Renner's possible return as Hawkeye in Avengers: Doomsday, following a new set photo shared by Robert Downey Jr.
The image, posted on Instagram, shows Downey seated outside his trailer beside a Doctor Doom comic poster with the message: 'Do not Knock. Trust yourself.'
The cryptic post drew a heartfelt reply from Renner: 'Long way from the ICU…. At least we know how this story ends my brother. Love you.'
Renner's comment, referencing his near-fatal snowplow accident in early 2023, immediately fueled rumours that the actor could reprise his role in the upcoming Avengers film.
So far, Marvel Studios has not confirmed Renner's involvement.
The speculation comes just weeks after Renner revealed he turned down Hawkeye Season 2, citing what he called an 'insult offer' — reportedly half the salary of Season 1.
'Maybe that's why you want to pay me half — because I got run over?' he told the High Performance podcast.
Renner has since focused on recovery and promoting his memoir My Next Breath, in which he details his physical and emotional journey post-accident.
While a Disney source disputed Renner's pay cut claims, the actor maintains he was simply asking for equal compensation.
Whether or not Renner officially rejoins the Avengers remains unconfirmed, but Downey's post — and the camaraderie it suggests — has certainly ignited hope among fans that Hawkeye isn't done just yet.

Finneas recalls awkward Taylor Swift moment that still embarrasses him years later

Finneas O'Connell has revealed the celebrity encounter that continues to embarrass him years later — an awkward exchange with Taylor Swift at her 32nd birthday party in 2021. The 28-year-old Grammy-winning musician, best known for his work with sister Billie Eilish, spoke about the moment in a new interview with The Guardian. He recalled arriving at the party, which Swift hosted alongside Haim's Alana Haim, and accidentally saying 'Thanks for coming' to the birthday girl. 'I said 'Thanks for coming' to Taylor Swift. At her birthday party. She said, 'Thank you so much for coming,' and I said, 'Thank you for coming!'' Finneas explained. He had previously shared the story in a 2022 Instagram Q&A, noting he meant to say 'Thanks for inviting me.' The musician was promoting his work with The Favors bandmate Ashe when he revisited the anecdote, describing it as his 'most cringeworthy run-in with a celebrity.' In the same interview, Finneas revealed he is skilled at doing impressions and named Extreme Makeover: Home Edition as the reality show he would most like to join, citing fond memories of host Ty Pennington. Sharing the best advice he has received, Finneas recalled a mastering engineer telling him, 'If something ever goes wrong, you just rock out.' With ten Grammys already to his name, Finneas continues to balance high-profile collaborations with personal creative projects.

Gomez's post has already racked up tens of thousands of likes, with fans enjoying the mix of glamour and comedy the misunderstanding created. This episode highlights how quickly celebrity Instagram posts can fuel wild yet humorous theories, especially when romance rumors are already in the air.

Kim Kardashian faces backlash after promoting costly stem cell treatment

Kim Kardashian has come under criticism after sharing details of a recent stem cell treatment in Mexico. The reality television personality posted images from her visit to Eterna Health, where Dr Adeel Khan and his team treated her for chronic back pain. Kardashian explained on Instagram that she first travelled to Mexico two years ago after tearing her shoulder while weightlifting. She said the stem cell therapy provided 'instant relief' without side effects, prompting her return for further treatment. This time, she aimed to address the back pain she had endured for years, claiming she again felt immediate improvement. Images from the trip included Kardashian in an all-black outfit with sunglasses, posing alongside Dr Khan and her sister Khloé Kardashian. Additional photos showed her in a medical setting during the procedure. While encouraging others with similar issues to research the treatment, Kardashian's post drew criticism from some followers, who felt she was flaunting an expensive healthcare option unavailable to most people. Comments included, 'Wish we all had that luxury' and 'Sounds super affordable,' reflecting frustration over the cost and exclusivity of the procedure. Some critics also suggested her lifestyle choices, such as wearing restrictive clothing, may have contributed to her back problems. Others linked the backlash to previous controversies over her beauty treatments. Kardashian has previously tried unconventional procedures, including the salmon sperm facial popularised by Jennifer Aniston. Kardashian has remained vocal about her willingness to try new treatments, stating in a past interview that she would do almost anything to maintain a youthful appearance. This latest stem cell treatment post has continued a broader conversation online about wealth, access to healthcare, and celebrity influence on medical trends.
