Jayden Daniels' mom sets record straight on Commanders QB's dating life
Regina Jackson, the mother, agent and business manager of Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels, has made it no secret that she's looking out for him on and off of the field.
During a Sunday appearance on the Mother's Day edition of 'The Pivot' podcast, Jackson opened up about Daniels' dating life and explained why she is protecting the 24-year-old from from other women.
'The whole girls comment was made first of all two years [ago], when he was at LSU,' Jackson told co-hosts Ryan Clark and Fred Taylor, referring to a past interview during which she said her biggest fear was 'them girls' trying to get to her son. 'It was a question [I was] asked, 'What is your biggest fear?'
'That should be every parents' biggest fear… men and women… because you're a public figure and your dollar amount is associated with your name. So you never know who's really there for you and who's really against you.
'… The thing is, he doesn't know what he doesn't know and he knows football and he does it very well… but he doesn't know the business world,' she said. He doesn't know the predators or he vultures that could be out there. So he feels very comfortable in knowing that not only am I educated and qualified to do it, I'm also his mom.'

Jackson explained that she wants her son to date despite narratives that she's shielding him from it.
'I'm putting it on record. My son can date, he can live freely, make his own decisions,' she said. 'However, with the relationship we have, he does value my opinion because when my kids were little, I did a lot for them and my kids saw that.
'… I worked too hard to allow anybody and at any moment to come in and just take it away. So I have a view of what I feel a good person is. But my son is 24, and he does have to go through things and he has to learn on his own. He's a great kid, I'm thankful for him… He's not like some of these other guys. He's really to himself, a homebody… So I'm trying to work on his life after sports, because at some point it does end.'
Jackson is a certified agent and has Master's degrees in Hospital Administration and in entrepreneurial business.

Jackson went on 'The Pivot' to give the public an opportunity to 'actually get to know who I am.'
She emphasized that she wants to be known as Regina Jackson, 'and not always the mother of Jayden Daniels.'
'I had Jayden. Jayden didn't have me,' she quipped of the reigning NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Jackson went viral for seemingly hovering over Daniels on numerous occasions off of the field.
Many were convinced that she tagged along with Daniels on a date with an unnamed woman while in Miami for the Formula 1 races last weekend.
Last month, Jackson was spotted in the background of a video of Daniels dancing at the wedding of San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk and his longtime partner Rochelle Searight.
In March, Jackson made waves online when she sat between him and USC Trojans women's basketball star JuJu Watkins in the stands at the NCAA tournament.
Daniels discussed how his mother is protective over him.
'Nothing gets past my mama,' he said during an interview with Boardroom in December 2024. 'She reads people, she doesn't want to put people around me that she doesn't feel will benefit me.'

2026 4-star Edge and Texas A&M commit is visiting Washington
2026 4-star Edge and Texas A&M commit is visiting Washington Texas A&M's 2026 recruiting class is on track to see a significant boost this summer, especially this weekend, as coach Mike Elko and his staff are currently hosting 18 prospects from the 2026 class, including six commits, led by four-star wide receiver Aaron Gregory. However, five-star wide receiver and LSU commit Tristen Keys is also on campus. After hiring former Miami Recruiting Director and assistant WR coach David Cooney, the Aggies have a very good chance to flip the elite pass catcher soon. However, according to Rivals recruiting insider Adam Gorney, four-star edge Texas A&M commit Samu Moala could be the Aggies' first realistic flip candidate, as the California product will reportedly visit Washington this weekend. The Huskies, like Oregon, focus on California for the bulk of the program's recruiting and have done a solid job this offseason of hosting several elite 2026 prospects. However, after committing in late October of last year, Texas A&M will be the final team to host Moala on June 20, meaning the Aggies are still in the driver's seat to keep him committed ahead of Early Signing Day in early December. On the field, there's a reason Moala is highly sought after, as he has improved every season, recording 52 tackles, three sacks, two tackles for loss, an interception, and nine hurries during his 2024 junior season. On offense, Moala hauled in five receptions for 86 yards and one touchdown. According to 247Sports, Moala is currently positioned as the 27th-ranked Edge and 26th-ranked prospect in California. Laremy Tunsil displaying leadership while away from the Commanders
New Washington Commanders left tackle Laremy Tunsil may not have been with the team throughout the voluntary offseason program. Still, he found ways to exhibit veteran leadership, specifically with rookie first-round pick Josh Conerly Jr. Natalie Spala of ABC News 7 in Washington, D.C., recently caught up with offensive line coach Bobby Johnson after OTAs this week in Ashburn. Johnson revealed that Tunsil was the first person to reach out to Conerly after the Commanders selected him 29th overall in the 2025 NFL draft. Advertisement "He was the first guy to reach out to Josh when Josh got drafted," Johnson said. "So, you automatically see a guy who is willing to be a leader and how he can help this young guy. I'm excited to see how fast that accelerates Josh's development. Because here is a guy who has done it at a high level, who's very talented, that can kind of give Josh the answers to the test." This is interesting because, reportedly, Tunsil's play wasn't the issue in Houston. Here's what Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated wrote about the Tunsil trade from the Texans' perspective: In short, DeMeco Ryans feels like the culture he wants across the board is in place on defense but not on offense and that a toxic atmosphere in the offensive line room was a root cause. And while Tunsil wasn't a bad guy (he was actually well-liked), he wasn't the type of leader to turn the ship—and needed to be as one of its captains. Essentially, Houston preferred going younger at offensive tackle and didn't want to give Tunsil (31 in August) another lucrative extension. The Commanders were thrilled to land Tunsil to protect quarterback Jayden Daniels' blind side. Washington believes Tunsil has several years of high-quality play remaining. Advertisement When Tunsil reached out to Conerly after the draft, it was a positive sign that put some of those rumors from his time with Houston to bed. Tunsil will be in town with the team next week as the Commanders hold their mandatory minicamp before breaking for training camp, which begins next month. Commanders Defense Got 'Bigger and Stronger' in 2025
Commanders Defense Got 'Bigger and Stronger' in 2025 originally appeared on Athlon Sports. During the 2025 offseason, the Washington Commanders made several high-profile additions to their offense. Wide receiver Deebo Samuel and left tackle Laremy Tunsil stole the show as the biggest acquisitions of the offseason. Advertisement But … Washington made some shrewd moves on the defensive end as well. And those moves have led defensive coordinator Joe Whitt Jr. to believe the unit has gotten better than last year's mark. 'We're really excited about the guys that we added," Whitt said. "We wanted to get bigger and longer. We definitely did that up front. We did in the back end also with [CB] Trey [Amos]. "So, the vision of how we want to play and how we want to be and how we want to look, you're seeing more of it right now from a size and length and speed standpoint.' Washington did lose free agents like safety Jeremy Chinn and edge rusher Dante Fowler Jr. Both players were important to Washington's turnaround last season on the defensive end. Advertisement But with another year in their system, Washington is hoping the current group will get even better. They drafted Amos with their second-round pick and signed Javon Kinlaw, Deatrich Wise Jr., and Will Harris to free agent contracts. These moves may not stick out quite like the Samuel or Tunsil trades, but they are important for the team in 2025. And if this all works out … each addition on the defensive end may end up helping Washington reach the Super Bowl for the first time in decades.
