Transport minister opens Arab aviation summit in Rabat
Libya's Minister of Transport, Mohamed Al-Shahoubi, has inaugurated an extraordinary session of the General Assembly of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization (ACAO) in the Moroccan capital.
The high-level gathering on Thursday was attended by transport ministers from Morocco, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt, along with delegations from other Arab League member states.
Key discussions centred on coordinating Arab nominations for the Executive Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), ahead of its upcoming General Assembly meeting scheduled for the end of September.
In his opening remarks, Al-Shahoubi stressed the need for unified Arab positions and enhanced cooperation to ensure strong representation within ICAO's decision-making body. He said such efforts would strengthen the Arab presence in global aviation governance and help boost civil aviation development across the region. Trump bans citizens of Libya and 11 other countries from entering the US
US President Donald Trump has announced a new entry ban targeting citizens of 12 predominantly Muslim, Arab, and African countries, including Libya. Trump cited national security concerns as the basis for the decision, which restricts entry for citizens from Afghanistan, Myanmar, Chad, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen. He said the move was prompted by a recent attack at a rally in Boulder, Colorado, carried out by a man who, according to authorities, had entered the US illegally. In a video message, Trump said: 'The recent terrorist attack in Boulder, Colorado, highlighted the severe risks our country faces from foreign nationals entering without thorough vetting.' Trump explained that the entry restrictions were largely based on issues such as visa overstays by citizens of certain countries, the failure of some states to implement adequate screening procedures, and the refusal of several governments to repatriate their nationals who violated immigration laws. He emphasized that such behavior would no longer be tolerated and reiterated his commitment to holding these countries accountable. Tags: US President Donald Trump

Siege-breaking march prepares to pass through Libya toward Gaza, starting from Tunisia
The Coordination Committee for Joint Action for Palestine in Tunisia is preparing to launch a land march to break the siege on Gaza. Thousands from Tunisia and the Maghreb countries have joined the convoy, which is scheduled to depart on June 9 toward Gaza, passing through Libya and then Egypt, in an effort to break the Israeli blockade on the Palestinian enclave and deliver aid. The "National Working Group for Palestine" announced on Tuesday that it had launched the registration platform for the international march to break the siege on Gaza. In a statement, it explained that this step is part of the preparations for launching the international march. The "Moroccan Front for Supporting Palestine" also announced in a statement its participation in the international march toward Gaza and its support for this initiative. It stated that it "will continue its multi-faceted struggle to end the genocide, including participating in the global march toward the Rafah crossing to stop the long-standing criminal blockade on Gaza." Moroccan organizations noted that participants in the international march will first fly to Tunisia, then travel overland through Libya and Egypt to reach Gaza. In parallel with the planned land convoy, the "Maddalena" ship, part of the Freedom Flotilla Coalition, departed on Sunday from the port of Catania, Italy, aiming to break the Israeli blockade on Gaza.
