Bahrain Official Honors "Ma'an" Team for Global Research Achievements

His Excellency Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Nationality, Passports, and Residence Affairs and Chairman of the Anti-Violence and Addiction Committee, received members of the "Ma'an" Regional Centre for Research and Training in a special ceremony on Sunday.
The visit recognized the outstanding efforts of Mr. Ali Ahmed Amini, Director of Crime Prevention and the "Ma'an" Program, Dr. Khawla Hazim Al Shamsi, and the research team, for their remarkable contributions in representing Bahrain in regional and international scientific forums. The team had also secured top positions in prestigious research competitions.
Shaikh Hisham praised the team's dedication and the impact of their scientific work in supporting community safety. He noted that such achievements reflect the advanced and progressive image of Bahrain's police force and help strengthen its presence on global academic platforms.
He also presented awards to the team members, commending the leading role played by the Ma'an Centre in developing research in security and social fields. He emphasized the importance of such studies in informing policy decisions and fostering institutional collaboration in security research.
Looking ahead, Shaikh Hisham called for the expansion of similar initiatives and proposed the creation of a scientific journal to document ongoing cooperation between security agencies and academic institutions. Three winning concepts announced during the sixth edition of Fikra

The Government Innovation Competition (Fikra), launched by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, has concluded its sixth edition with the announcement of three winning concepts. The winning concepts were selected through a rigorous process involving a Ministerial Committee, alongside a public vote. The winners included: 1. 'Hayat plus' Application, presented by Major Hamad Subah Al Swar and Major Salem Subah Al Swar, from the Ministry of Interior. 2. National Points System (Kafu) presented by Manar Ahmed Thani, from the Prime Minister's Office. 3. ⁠'Taqyeemk' Mandatory Yearly Cybersecurity Assessments, presented by Captain Engineer Jassim Isa AlObaidly, Captain Engineer Khalid Mohammed Saif, and Captain Engineer Khalifa Noaman Alhassan, from the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), which won the public vote. The Ministerial Committee extended its congratulations to the winners. The Committee commended the innovative ideas showcased during the competition, highlighting their potential to enhance government workstreams and improve the efficiency of services for citizens and residents. This comes in line with the Kingdom's commitment to driving progress through government initiatives and programmes. The Committee commended the participants' efforts, praising the high standard of all 12 concepts that reached the final stage and wishing them success in their future endeavours. The Ministerial Committee consisted of the Minister of Finance and National Economy, HE Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, the Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, HE Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, the Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, His Highness Dr Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the Minister of Legal Affairs and Acting Minister of Labour, HE Yousif bin Abdulhussain Khalaf, the Minister of Health, HE Dr Jalila bint Al-Sayed Jawad Hassan, the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, HE Amna bint Ahmed Al Romaihi, the Minister of Education, HE Dr Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, and the Minister of Industry and Commerce, HE Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro. Fikra aims to foster a culture of creativity and innovation within the public sector by empowering employees to propose solutions that address the Kingdom's aspirations. The initiative contributes to advancing government services in line with Bahrain Economic Vision 2030 and the 2023-2026 Government Programme.

Fikra launches e-voting for the "Public Vote" category

Electronic voting for the sixth edition of the Government Innovation Competition (Fikra) has been launched through the Prime Minister's Office website at to determine the winner of the 'Public Vote' category. Voting will remain open until Tuesday, 14 January. This follows the qualification of 12 concepts, which were selected after a rigorous evaluation of the initial 40 concepts by four specialised committees. The outcome of the vote will be announced alongside the results from the Ministers' evaluation committee, which will determine the winning concepts in the other competition categories. The 12 finalists are: 1.
