Bill Belichick has ‘got to get ahold of himself' with Jordon Hudson — ex-NFL insider Pete King rips ‘embarrassing' situation
Peter King covered Bill Belichick throughout his NFL career, watching him rise from a whiz Giants assistant to arguably the greatest NFL coach of all-time with the Patriots.
Seeing the notoriously cagey Belichick now becoming involved in all this drama connected to his 24-year-old girlfriend Jordon Hudson, especially with her recent much-scrutinized role in his disastrous 'CBS Sunday Morning' interview, has shocked the retired NFL insider — and left him quite critical of the North Carolina coach.
'This is a guy who owned every room he ever walked into and now he's got a 24-year-old muse telling him what to do or trying to control situations that quite frankly she has nothing to do with or should have nothing to do with,' King said on the 'Sports Media with Richard Deitsch' podcast published Thursday.
'Bill's got to get a hold of himself here. He's got to get a hold of this situation. This is embarrassing. It's totally embarrassing for a guy who's as great at his job as he is.'

Belichick and Hudson's relationship has become one of the biggest storylines in all of sports, especially after her interference in his recent interview to discuss his upcoming book.
Hudson interrupted interviewer Tony Dokoupil after he asked how they first met, saying that would not be discussed, and the segment labeled her as a 'constant presence' in their interview.
Belichick later accused CBS of 'selective editing' and defended Hudson's role in the interview.
'This would've been a 'Mike and the Mad Dog' spectacular back in the old days,' King said of the drama.

Page Six also reported that Hudson 'forced' her way into the Dunkin' Donuts commercial featuring Belichick and Ben Affleck, among others.
Reports have emerged stating North Carolina is 'concerned,' while some in Belichick's camp told The Post that they see the former collegiate cheerleader as a 'runaway train.'
Former Patriots offensive lineman Ted Johnson said North Carolina should consider firing Belichick, his daughter-in-law criticized Hudson and even friend Charles Barkley said he's a 'little concerned.'

It's all a stark contrast to the Belichick which King and others chronicled during his NFL days.
King and Belichick no longer had a relationship as of two years ago, with the two falling apart following the SpyGate controversy that rocked the NFL world.
'That's the cost of doing business sometimes,' King told The Athletic in 2023. 'He's one of the greatest coaches of all time. I'm not sure I put him above Paul Brown, but he's right up there with the greatest to ever coach in any sport. But I think what he did in 2007 was wrong.'

King also ripped Belichick for conducting the interview, meant to publicize his upcoming book, 'The Art of Winning: Lessons from My Life in Football', while wearing a ripped sweatshirt.
'(He) goes on Sunday morning television with a sweatshirt on with a hole in it,' King said, 'but then why … a couple days after this, why does TMZ have him walking out of the Ritz-Carlton hotel, I think in New York, in a perfectly tailored blue suit. Why? Where is he going? And why is he on a national TV show looking like he's going to a press conference in Foxborough on no sleep.'

King believes Belichick looked like an 'idiot' and did not convince viewers to buy his book, although he did offer praise for the contents.
'That was a terrible look in the first place, but in general if you're going to be promoting a book, or you're going to be doing interviews, you can't the sullen, disinterested person that Bill Belichick was for CBS,' King said of Belichick's roughly eight-minute interview. 'You just shouldn't do it then. Why do it? Anyone who watched that piece, anyone. For me, if I'm watching that, 'I'm not buying that idiot's book. Why would I buy this guy? I hate this guy.' That is going to be the impression I get.
'Now, I think there's a lot of good of stuff in the book.'

HS track star DQ'ed over fire extinguisher celebration after win
HS track star DQ'ed over fire extinguisher celebration after win A California track runner was disqualified and stripped of her title after high school sports officials deemed her victory celebration unsportsmanlike. Clara Adams, a sophomore track star at North Salinas High School, had her 400 meter dash title taken away after her dad handed her a fire extinguisher to celebrate on Saturday. She sprayed the fire extinguisher on her spikes, much like sprinter Maurice Greene during a 2004 celebration. California sports officials disqualified her for the act, stripping her of her title and preventing her from participating in her other race. Clara was shocked when she realized she was being reprimanded, she told Fox News. 'When the officials told me that I would be disqualified, I was just sent into shock,' she said. 'They just took my moment away from me that quick.' The California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) did not immediately respond to USA TODAY's requests for comment on June 5 and neither did the Salinas Union High School District. Reactions pour in Clara is a sophomore track runner at North Salinas High School, about 58 miles south of San Jose. She is a member of the Central Coast Cheetahs track team and is slated to graduate in 2027, per her Instagram account. She was competing over the weekend in the CIF state finals. She won the 400 meter dash over the weekend and still had the 200 meter race to compete in. Her father and coach, David Adams, admitted to handing her the fire extinguisher to celebrate that day, he told news station KION-TV. As Clara celebrated her win over the weekend, one announcer laughed off the celebration. "She knows what she did today,' the announcer said, laughing. "Clapping it up. She's hype ... She had a fire extinguisher on the track. I love the way we're having fun with the sport." And once community members got wind of her disqualification, some called for it to be reversed, sharing a clip of Greene's celebration in 2004. Greene has chimed in on the situation, according to multiple news outlets such as KSBW and KABC-TV. 'This girl who just ran the 400 did your celebration,'' he recalled the callers saying. 'I was like huh? What?" Greene said. "If it was away from everyone and not interfering with anyone, I would say reinstate her." Teen's father: 'I'm the one that handed it to her' David Adams, Clara's father and coach, told Fox News that his daughter was celebrating off the track and on the grass so she wouldn't be seen as taunting the other runners. 'Make sure you're (facing) yourself,' he recalled telling her. 'You're facing me, not your opponents, which, they were already 40, 50 meters away.' According to Clara's father, he has been training her since she was 5 and she started competing at just 6, he told KION-TV. The pair vowed that this year, the 10th year working together, would be special for them, 'like a movie.' 'It just went left with the disqualification,' he said, adding that they still had hope since she still had to run the 200 meter race. 'Clara was crying,' her father said. 'Watching her hurt, it hurt me. I take responsibility over everything because I'm the one that handed (the fire extinguisher) to her.' He said he would've been OK leaving the stadium if it meant his daughter was able to stay and compete. 'I'm the adult,' he said. 'Reprimand me, not the kid.' Father thinks discipline may be racially motivated When Fox News' Will Cain asked her father if he has evidence that Clara's disqualification was racially motivated, her father said history shows it likely is. When White athletes celebrate, it's often viewed as passion that's good for the sport, her father said. 'When a Black girl or a Black boy or a Brown girl or a Brown boy, they celebrate, it's deemed as unprofessional, unsportsmanlike, it's ghetto, so why is it OK for one to celebrate and not the other?' he asked. 'We've seen that before. It's nothing new. I'm not making this up.' When Cain asked the father and daughter how they felt about her disqualification when the CIF allows transgender athletes such as AB Hernandez to compete, the pair said they were perplexed. "It's being celebrated, basically," David Adams said. "She can jump very well ... They celebrated AB Hernandez on the podium, and Clara was disqualified for having a celebration. We're lost on that ... I'm confused because now ... I've got to worry about an AB Hernandez jumping into the 400 meters next year?" More: Transgender athlete shares 2 titles at California state track and field meet Her father told KION-TV that his daughter is a good kid who works hard on and off the track. She has a 3.8 grade point average. He said he is a man of faith, and he was told his daughter will likely be able to compete in the Nike Outdoor Nationals in a few weeks. 'She's 16,' he said. 'She'll be the youngest one … This national meet is bigger than the CIF state meet.' Contributing: Barry Werner, USA TODAY High School Sports Saleen Martin is a reporter on USA TODAY's NOW team. Aaron Rodgers' most notable accomplishments, moments of NFL career
Aaron Rodgers isn't done playing just yet. The 41-year-old four-time NFL MVP is planning to join the Pittsburgh Steelers for his 21st season. He spent his last two seasons with the New York Jets following an 18-year run with the Green Bay Packers to start his career. Rodgers comes to Pittsburgh with a lengthy list of accomplishments and memorable moments. Here are some of the most notable: Long wait After developing into an NFL prospect after one year at Butte College and two at Cal, Rodgers was a possibility to go first overall in 2005. He had a longer-than-expected wait, however, before Green Bay selected him 24th overall. Patience pays off After sitting behind Brett Favre for three seasons, Rodgers got his opportunity to be the Packers' starter in 2008 after Favre — who retired briefly and then returned — was traded to the Jets. Rodgers quickly established himself as one of the NFL's top passers, throwing for 4,038 yards. It was the first of 10 seasons during which he would pass for at least 4,000 yards. Super season Rodgers led the Packers to the Super Bowl to cap the 2010 season and was selected the game's MVP after throwing for 304 yards and three touchdowns in Green Bay's 31–25 win over Pittsburgh. First MVP Rodgers won the first of his four AP NFL MVP awards in 2011 after passing for a career-high and franchise-best 4,643 yards with 45 touchdowns and just six interceptions while setting an NFL record with a 122.5 passer rating. Second MVP In 2014, Rodgers and the Packers bounced back from a sluggish 1-2 start to reach the NFC Championship Game, where Green Bay lost to Seattle. He capped the season by winning his second MVP award. "Miracle in Motown" One of Rodgers' most memorable passes came in Detroit in Week 13 of the 2015 season against the Lions, who led the Packers 23-20 and appeared to win until a defensive facemask penalty was called with no time left on the clock. It gave Green Bay one more chance, and Rodgers chucked a 61-yard toss that was caught by Richard Rodgers in the end zone for an unlikely victory. It was the first of Rodgers' four career completed Hail Mary throws, the most in NFL history. Third MVP Rodgers threw a career-high and Packers-record 48 touchdown passes and set a personal best with a 70.7 completion percentage on his way to his third AP NFL MVP award. The Packers made it to the NFC title game again, but lost to Tom Brady and eventual Super Bowl-champion Tampa Bay. Rodgers fell to 1-4 in conference championship games and became the first quarterback to lose four consecutive appearances. Vaccination controversy Rodgers missed a game in 2021 after testing positive for COVID-19 and later acknowledged he hadn't gotten the vaccine. He said he was "immunized" when asked about his vaccination status before the season. Although he took responsibility for being misleading about his status initially, Rodgers also criticized the way NFL protocols impacted unvaccinated players and frequently spoke out regarding his skepticism over the vaccine. Fourth MVP Rodgers capped a controversy-tinged 2021 season by winning his fourth AP NFL MVP award, becoming the fifth player to win consecutive MVPs and first since Peyton Manning (2008 and 2009). He and Manning are also the only players to win at least four MVP awards. Swan song in Green Bay Rodgers signed a three-year contract before the 2022 season with the Packers worth $150.8 million, with $101.5 million guaranteed, making him the highest-paid player in North American sports history on an annual basis at that time. He broke his right thumb early in the season but continued playing, and the Packers finished 8-9 and missed the playoffs. Big deal, big disappointment Rodgers was traded to New York on April 26, 2023, immediately raising expectations for the Jets, whose only Super Bowl appearance was in the 1968 season. But just four snaps into his debut in the season opener against Buffalo, Rodgers tore his left Achilles tendon. Broadway bust Rodgers started off slowly in his return from his torn Achilles tendon and then dealt with other knee, ankle and hamstring injuries as the Jets got off to a 2-3 start and fired coach Robert Saleh. Rodgers played better down the stretch, but New York finished 5-12 and missed the playoffs for the 14th straight year. After becoming the fifth player in NFL history to throw 500 regular-season touchdown passes in the season finale, Rodgers said he needed to take some time off to ponder his playing future. Jetting away On Feb. 13, 2025, the Jets said they had informed Rodgers that new coach Aaron Glenn and new general manager Darren Mougey would be moving in another direction at quarterback. He was released a month later, officially ending Rodgers' tenure with the franchise. Showing up in Steel City Rodgers ended several months of speculation when he informed the Steelers on June 5 that he plans to sign with Pittsburgh, a person with knowledge of the decision told The Associated Press. The person spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because Rodgers had not yet signed a contract. His first game of the season? At the Jets in Week 1 against former Steelers quarterback Justin Fields. Reporting by The Associated Press. Want great stories delivered right to your inbox?
