Ex-Eagles Player Shares Thoughts After Receiving Major Recognition

Earlier this week, the Philadelphia Eagles announced that they are inducting the ex-NFL safety Malcolm Jenkins into the team's Hall of Fame.
Jenkins, a member of the Eagles' first-ever Super Bowl-winning squad, will be honored during the 2025 NFL season.

Jenkins found out about his honor on Wednesday, when he attended an Eagles practice as a photographer. The veteran safety was embraced by some former teammates and current Eagles who didn't get the chance to play with him.
Not long after the Eagles revealed to the public that Jenkins would be inducted into the team's Hall of Fame, the former safety took to social media to react to the news.

Jenkins entered the NFL after a run at Ohio State. In 2009, he was the league's 14th overall pick in the first round of the NFL Draft. Jenkins started his career as a cornerback for the New Orleans Saints.

That year, the Eagles pursued Jenkins in free agency and signed him with a three-year contract, which was worth a reported $15.5 million.

Two years into his deal with the Eagles, Jenkins signed a four-year extension. The final season had an option. Jenkins would play through the 2019 NFL season with the Eagles, but the team declined his final season's option, leaving the veteran safety to become a free agent.
When Jenkins' time with the Eagles wrapped up, he left behind six seasons of work. The veteran safety started 96 games during the regular season, racking up 515 tackles, 11 interceptions, and 12 forced fumbles. Jenkins was a part of three playoff runs with the Eagles. He accounted for 40 tackles in the playoffs.

When he hit the open market in 2020, Jenkins returned to New Orleans for two more seasons. Just halfway through his contract, Jenkins decided to retire from the game.

Now, a number of clues might suggest she's not actually talking about bread here, but something much bigger. For starters, Swifties have pointed out that the 2026 Super Bowl will be taking place at the San Francisco 49ers' Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara — and the team's mascot is a bearded gold miner by the name of Sourdough Sam. Not only that, Taylor's mention of the number 60 may have some significance, too, in light of the fact that this is the 60th Super Bowl. If that evidence wasn't compelling enough, Taylor also made an oddly specific reference to the number 47 when she thanked Jason for 'screaming for, like, 47 seconds' at the start of the episode. It has since been uncovered that Taylor's 47th stop on the Eras Tour in 2023 was at — you guessed it — Santa Clara's Levi's Stadium. On top of this, Levi's appears to be leaning into the speculation, too. Last week, the brand posted a TikTok showing someone swapping out the iconic red Levi's tag on a pair of jeans for an orange glittery tag. For context, orange glitter is part of the color theme for Taylor's Showgirl era, and Levi's captioned the post: 'subtle swap for the big day.' What 'big day' could that be, I wonder? So, we all know Taylor loves an Easter egg or two, and I'm not usually one to buy into the speculation, but I have to say, I think the sleuths might be onto something here. I mean, she announced her new album on a sports podcast and even made a pointed callout to bitter male football fans to make it clear she's not going anywhere anytime soon. Also, off the back of the Eras Tour success and the subsequent reclaiming of her masters, now feels like the perfect time for her to tick the Super Bowl Halftime Show off her to-do list. Besides, nothing says Showgirl like performing on one of the world's biggest stages. In the past few years, the halftime show headliner has been announced in September, so it's possible we may not have long to wait before we figure out if Taylor is really cooking up sourdough or maybe something bigger. LSU football head coach Brian Kelly continues to express confidence in offensive line
LSU football enters 2025 with its sights set on the College Football Playoff. Quarterback Garrett Nussmeier is expected to compete for the Heisman Trophy and LSU is loaded with talent at wide receiver. The offensive line is still a question mark, though. LSU is losing four starters from the 2024 unit -- all were NFL draft picks, including Will Campbell, who was the No. 5 overall pick. LSU head coach Brian Kelly isn't concerned. At SEC media days in July, Kelly said he was "bullish" on LSU's offensive line and he's continued to take that tone during fall camp. "Yeah, I mean, look, I've coached for a long time. I've got a lot of guys in the NFL, a lot of first-round draft picks. I think I've got a pretty good eye for what an offensive line looks like. This group is going to be really good," Kelly said. Kelly said LSU doesn't have a star like Will Campbell, but experience at the center position will mitigate the lack of experience up front. "Our center position in Braelin Moore kind of sets up the rest of the group for success. His combination work is outstanding, his recognition of fronts. You know, getting us to be an elite offensive line, if you have a center that can kind of set the stage for that, it allows everything else to kind of fall into place, and it's starting to fall into place quite nicely," Kelly said. Moore, who hails from Virginia Tech, was one of the top-ranked offensive linemen in the transfer portal and brings 20+ starts of experience to LSU. Moore wasn't the only transfer LSU added on the offensive line. The Tigers also signed Josh Thompson, a veteran guard from Northwestern. Moore and Thompson's experience stands out in an otherwise young unit.

Stock up, stock down after the Bills' 38-0 preseason loss at Bears
The Buffalo Bills (0-2) were hoping to shake off last week's preseason loss to the New York Giants with a matchup against Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears (1-0) on Sunday. Buffalo, like most teams that are hoping to compete for a Super Bowl, have not seen some of their starters on the field during this preseason and it looks like those absences could make a difference. The Bills not only lost to the Bears to drop to an 0-2 record in the preseason, but they lost 38-0 as it seemed like none of the three phases showed up over the course of the game. The Bills fell behind 7-0 after the first quarter, but at halftime, Buffalo trailed Chicago 28-0 as the Bears looked to be operating on all cylinders with Williams leading the way. While the preseason doesn't matter that much in the grand scheme of teams looking to make it to the postseason in some capacity, but a showing of this magnitude has to be disappointing to head coach Sean McDermott and company. Either way, here is the stock report for the Bills following Sunday's blowout loss to the Bears in the second of three preseason games: Stock Up: RB Frank Gore Jr. Gore came into this season looking to earn a roster spot behind starting running back James Cook and backup Ray Davis and this game had to do something to help his case. Gore not only carried the football eight times for 51 yards (6.4 yards per carry), but he also caught four of five targets for 30 yards to show his all-around game in this washout of a contest. Stock Down: Bills QB Room Mitchell Trubisky started this game for the Bills and while he did not perform well, the rest of the quarterback room did not do much to improve on what he did or didn't do. In terms of passer rating, Trubisky (64.6) played the best of the three quarterbacks that took the field, but Trubisky, Mike White, and Shane Buechele combined to throw for just 103 yards on 28 attempts. Stock Up: CB Jordan Hancock Like Gore, Hancock is looking to earn his way onto the Bills once training camp is over and is performance against the Bears should grant him some favor amongst the coaching staff. Hancock was a tackling machine against Chicago as he piled up eight tackles (five solo) including a tackle for loss to show how willing he is to get involved in every single play. Stock Down: Bills Defense Similar to the aforementioned poor performance of Buffalo's quarterbacks, the defense was poor in almost every facet of the game. It's tough to pick specific areas in which the Bills' defense struggled, but it's important to note that Chicago had 10 drives, the same as Buffalo, but they gained 348 more yards and ran 40 more plays than the Bills did.
