Meghan Markle carries out a tray of rosé ice lollies in glossy new As Ever promo - after launching latest collection of wine on her birthday
The Duchess of Sussex, 44, was the image of Montecito glam as she carried out a tray of ice lollies made from her brand's rosé in an Instagram Story shared by As Ever on Wednesday.
In it, Prince Harry 's wife, sporting a pastel pink dress is carrying the boozy poolside treat, amid some deckchairs, sporting some shades.
With her hair styled in loose beachy waves, she has placed the sweet snacks on an ice tray.
The clip is part of promotion material for her 2024 Napa Valley Rosé, a follow-up from the company's debut vintage.
According to the company's site, it is 'delicately balanced, with soft notes of stone fruit, a gentle minerality, and a lasting finish' as well as being 'reminiscent of the finest Provençal styles, this thoughtfully crafted blend is perfect for summer's end'.
It comes as the lifestyle brand guru was radiant in white as she shared a behind-the-scenes look at her 44th birthday celebrations in California this week - before fans noticed a hidden detail in the photograph.
Meghan marked another year around the sun by unveiling her lifestyle brand As Ever's latest rosé before treating herself to an 'extraordinary' meal at a celebrity-loved restaurant in Beverly Hills.
The Duchess of Sussex, 44, was the image of Montecito glam as she carried out a tray of ice lollies made from her brand's rosé in an Instagram Story shared by As Ever on Wednesday
She took to Instagram to share a photo from the party that depicted the Duchess blowing out the candles on a cake decorated with yellow edible flowers - much like the dishes she whipped up over the course of her Netflix series With Love, Meghan.
However, fans have pointed out another reason why her cake may have been adorned with flowers - as one person revealed it represents the nickname given to her by her mother, Doria Ragland.
'Meghan Sussex celebrated her birthday at a restaurant with family and friends,' they wrote in a post on Instagram. 'Notice the birthday cake represents her nickname "Flower," which was given to her by her mother.'
Meghan first divulged Doria referred to her as a 'flower' in a blog post on her now-defunct lifestyle blog The Tig, as she wrote: 'Meg, MM, M&M, and Flower (which my mom has called me since I was little).'
She also discussed the nickname during an episode of her since-cancelled Spotify podcast Archetypes that was released in 2022 when Meghan admitted that Doria still calls her by the nickname that has been in use since she was a child.
Speaking about the importance of nicknames with the Pose actress Michaela J Rodriguez, Meghan revealed she had no problem with the nickname, instead saying she loves it.
Doria and Meghan are very close, with the former having appeared on her daughter's podcast, Harry and Meghan's bombshell Netflix docuseries as well as a brief cameo at a brunch on the Duchess' lifestyle series With Love, Meghan.
She was also likely present at Meghan's birthday party last night at Hollywood hotspot Funke in Beverly Hills alongside Prince Harry and her Los Angeles pals.
Meghan repurposed a closet staple for her 44th birthday celebrations as she picked the white, embellished Valentino shift dress - decorated flower appliqués - she last wore to a charity concert in 2021 for the occasion.
She last reached for the dress, which retails for around £4,000, when Meghan and Harry attended the Global Citizen Live charity concert in New York's Central Park in September 2021.
At the time, Meghan styled her dark locks in a sophisticated, loose ponytail - but the mother-of-two literally and figuratively let her hair down when she decided to restyle the dress for her birthday party on Tuesday, August 4.
The actress-turned-royal shared a photo of herself with closed eyes as she blew out the candles on her birthday cake.
'Blowing out the candles on a beautiful 24 hours, and thanking my husband, friends and family for making it so special,' she captioned the celebratory post.
'To those of you I don't know, but who send love every day — thank you so much. Please know I feel it and appreciate it ❤️,' she added.
She also gave her followers a behind-the-scenes glimpse at the festivities while joking she was going to 'get a little foodie on' them, as she revealed her party was held at Funke - the celebrity-loved restaurant frequented by stars like Kim Kardashian, Michelle Obama, Jennifer Lopez, and Matt Damon.
The acclaimed restaurant is led by head chef and co-owner Evan Funke, who had previously opened Felix Trattoria in Los Angeles.
Since opening in January 2023, the restaurant has earned a coveted spot in the Michelin dining guide and was ranked at 25 on the 101 Best Restaurants in LA list by the Los Angeles Times.
In October, Funke served as the location for Hailey Bieber's Rhode Skin launch party, where she was joined by her husband Justin Bieber.
A year earlier, Kim Kardashian brought her own birthday celebrations to Funke as she turned 43.
In Meghan's caption, she praised Funke and his team for creating one of 'the top five meals of my life.'
'Extraordinary 🍝 Thank you for a standout dining experience,' she gushed.
The Suits star was dressed in an elegant white ensemble decorated with rhinestones as she leaned forward to blow out her candles in her photo.
Her gorgeous cake appeared to have been frosted with meringue that was torched to a pleasant brown shade and decorated on top with flowers.
Earlier on Tuesday, Meghan shared a series of rare personal messages on social media after several of her closest friends from her 'Montecito moms' circle and her days as an actress on Suits were quick to share tributes for her birthday.
Close pals including Meghan's costar in the legal drama Abigail Spencer, Kelly McKee Zajfen, Tracy Robbins, Jamie Kern Lima all took to Instagram on Monday to share gushing compliments, calling the Duchess 'pure magic' and describing her as 'like sunshine in a bottle'.
And in a rare move from the Duchess, she commented on their posts in a mutual display of affection.
Meghan's long-time pal Abigail was the first to share a tribute to the Duchess, calling her 'Champagne in human form' and a 'sister in this life and beyond'.
As Abigail was also celebrating her birthday yesterday, Meghan fired back: 'Thank you, sweet Abs! Right back at you, and happy birthday to YOU! 44/4' - her comment referring to them both turning 44 on the fourth day of the month.
Kelly McKee Zajfen, a former model and co-founder of Alliance of Moms, has been friends with Meghan for many years after first meeting with the Duchess's ex-husband, Trevor Engelson.
She shared an unseen black-and-white photograph of herself and the mother-of-two laughing together, while standing beside a fountain.
In the photo, Meghan was wearing a stylish chain print blend dress from Veronica Beard, retailing at $635.
Kelly wrote: 'Happy Birthday to you sweet M!!
'You're pure magic!! A force of fun, light, and so much love. Thank you for being the kind of friend who makes everything better (and way more fun). Here's to the best trip around the ☀️ yet!
'(This captures us perfectly! ✨✨) Love you so very much!'
Meghan replied: 'Thank you!', adding heart, cake and champagne emojis.
The Duchess also featured in several new photos shared by her close pal Tracy Robbins, who lives in Montecito and is married to Paramount boss Brian Robbins - with the couple occasionally going on double dates with Meghan and Prince Harry.
Tracy showed a very light-hearted and laidback side to Meghan, as they were seen giggling while enjoying cocktails together.
In one candid snap, Meghan couldn't contain her laughter as some of the foam from her cocktail landed on her nose.
'Happy birthday my dear @meghan Oh how I can laugh and dance with you like no other. You are sunshine in a bottle!' Tracy gushed.
Tracy showed a very light-hearted and laid back side to Meghan, as they were seen giggling while enjoying cocktails together
'Thank you for always making time to be such a loving and connected friend no matter what's going on in your life. You dance through this life with so much grace, light and love!'
Referring to her husband Prince Harry, and children Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four, she added: 'I hope your wee posse of 3 are smothering you with hugs and kisses today my dear! Happiest of birthdays M!'
Keeping it simple, Meghan commented a selection of pink and red heart emojis.
Tracy also shared a photo of Meghan and her husband Brian backstage at Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter tour - which they attended together in May at the SoFi stadium in California.
She added: 'Happy birthday M! Brian and I adore you!'
Jamie Kern Lima, who hosted Meghan on her podcast earlier this year, shared on her story: 'Happy Birthday @meghan thank you for being love, light and such a great friend to everyone who has the gift of truly knowing you!!!'
Seconds later, she shared another image, holding a rainbow fruit platter they had made behind the scenes of the podcast: 'Happy Birthday @meghan Wonder had so much fun making this for you! Can't wait to see what we learn on Season 2 of your show! Thank you for being love, light and such a generous friend to everyone you meet!'
Meghan's make-up artist pal Daniel Martin, who helped get the Duchess ready for her 2018 wedding to Prince Harry, meanwhile shared a sweet snap of Meghan and her beagle Mia in the garden of her Montecito mansion, simply writing 'HBD sis!'
Rounding off the tributes was actress Kerry Washington, who has been friends with Meghan since 2013, and said: 'To this beautiful (inside and out) @meghan Love you so much!'
Meghan's As Ever brand has posted a gushing birthday tribute as she turned 44.
Her lifestyle company took to Instagram with a black and white snapshot of the mother-of-two wearing a sundress and hat as she beamed into the distance.
The caption enthused about Meghan and her role leading the company.
'Celebrating the woman behind it all,' it read.
'She pours her heart, vision and magic touch into every detail, and today, we raise a glass to her! Happy birthday to our founder.'
It was then re-shared on As Ever's Instagram Story alongside two champagne flutes clinking together in celebration.
On Sunday, the eve of her 44th birthday, Meghan took to social media to share a teaser for her lifestyle brand.
Meghan replied with a rare social media comment, writing: 'Thank you, sweet Abs! Right back at you, and happy birthday to YOU! 44/4'
The Duchess shared a video of herself carrying a wicker basket filled with flowers and bottles of As Ever Napa Valley rosé laid in white linen.
While Meghan's face did not feature in the video, it showed her wearing a short white dress as she frolicked in the grass, thought to be at her Montecito estate near Santa Barbara, California.
She showed off her stack of rings on her left ring finger, including her engagement ring, wedding ring and an infinity ring, estimated to be worth around £210,000.
She also wore a gold Cartier Love Bracelet, which costs up to £7,050, and a gold Cartier Tank Watch that once belonged to Princess Diana, both of which she regularly wears.
The clip later showed a view of Meghan's swinging feet as she sits atop a stone garden wall, clad in £720 tan-coloured Hermes Santorini sandals.
The words 'Coming soon...' appeared over the video to tease the launch of her new 2024 Napa Valley rosé.
Shared on the official As Ever Instagram page last night, the caption read: 'Goodness in a glass. Right around the corner...Cheers to August!'
Meghan's latest post comes after she announced another product coming to her As Ever line - although some of her customers were baffled as to what was actually new.
The Duchess launched her lifestyle brand As Ever earlier this year, releasing the first products in April, which included a range of teas, a raspberry spread, and a limited-edition wildflower honey with honeycomb, amongst other things.
She followed it up with an apricot spread and another honey, and in July, she expanded into the world of alcohol when she dropped her own wine - the 2023 Napa Valley rosé.
Each release has been met with fierce excitement from her fans, and every product has sold out pretty quickly.
Now, the Duchess of Sussex 's brand has announced its newest product... but it might not garner the same amount of enthusiasm since it's not very different from her last item.
The company revealed on Wednesday that following the buzz surrounding the 2023 Napa Valley rosé, it will be launching another wine, with a slight tweak - calling it the 2024 Napa Valley rosé.
And it vowed that it will pretty much taste the same as As Ever's first wine.
'It marries the same harmony of notes from our first blend and creates an elegant medley of delicate yet memorable flavor,' reads a press release.
'You'll want to clink glasses with friends as the sun sets, toasting to a summer of joy.
Meghan described her new bottles as 'goodness in a glass'
'Barefoot or in sandals, dressed up or dressed down, this rosé may become your favorite accessory for alfresco lunches and dinners at dusk.'
In the release, As Ever listed some of the positive feedback customers had given the company over its first rosé, which included comments like, '10 out of 10,' 'perfect,' and 'elevated flavor'.
'This affirmed all of the love, time and effort our team, and our founder, poured into curating this blend to evoke the sun drenched spirit of Napa Valley, and the breathtaking tenor of the California Coast,' As Ever added.
'Thank you for filling our cup. Now it's time for us to fill your glass! We are pleased to share that our 2024 Napa Valley rosé will be available for purchase next week.'
The brand also posted to Instagram with a series of images showing the new wine resting in beach sand.
It was uploaded alongside a caption that read: 'Oh, how we love seeing the world through rose colored glasses. Rosé colored glasses? Perhaps even better.
'Our new vintage of As Ever's beloved rosé is available next week.
'Stay tuned for more details and timing.'
As Ever's first wine went on sale on July 1 and sold out within the hour.
Customers were able to purchase three bottles for $90, six bottles for $159, and 12 bottles for $300.

Selena Gomez accidentally confuses A-lister into thinking she missed Rare Beauty founder's wedding to Benny Blanco
Selena Gomez and fiancé Benny Blanco were guests at a wedding on Saturday night, but the Rare Beauty founder's social media post was a bit confusing about who was tying the knot. The multi-hyphenate, who recently celebrated her 33rd birthday, shared a photo of herself and Blanco, 37 early Sunday writing, 'About last nights wedding.' After seeing the post one of her A-list pals was a bit confused, but figured it out, sharing her discomfort. 'This caption .. I panicked so crazy, yay dave !!!❤️' SZA,35, explained. Gomez and Blanco, who got engaged in December, had been guests at the wedding of rapper and comedian, Lil Dicky, aka David Burd, 37, to Kristin Batalucco. The mystery was quickly cleared up after looking at the photos the Only Murders in the Building star shared of the bridal party. Gomez showed off her elegant style, wear stunning red halter dress with a mock turtleneck for the oceanside ceremony. Her dark locks were styled in a chic chignon and she accessorized with gold dangling earrings. Gomez even used the event to promote her cologne, dabbing a few drops on her neck. She later donned a black faux fur coat as the temperatures dropped as evidenced in a romantic photo in which she's kissing Blanco on the cheek. 'And in a few months it will be you,' a fan wrote in response to the photos. During an appearance on Jake Shane's Therapuss podcast in July, Blanco, born Benjamin Joseph Levin, revealed he and Gomez haven't had a lot of time to plan their upcoming nuptials. 'That's why we both need to chill,' he told the host. 'We've both been working so much. Giving a lengthy explanation about their busy lives, he said, 'We got engaged, and then we were filming music videos for our album [I Said I Love You First]... Then it's holidays, then right after the holidays, we had to start all the promo for our stuff, do that.' 'Then she left to film her show Only Murders [in the Building] and then I met her, then we hung out for a week, and then right after that, it's promo.' The hitmaker revealed her panic and good wishes for the groom, Lil Dicky, aka David Burd, 37 Gomez showed off her elegant style, wear stunning red halter dress with a mock turtleneck. Her dark locks were styled in a chic chignon and she accessorized with gold dangling earrings 'And then I'm writing another book, so then I had to write a book, and then she came back for one day here. 'And then it was my birthday, and you know.... We're both working on so many things that we hadn't even had time to get into it, but we're so excited. 'I think this summer we're going to sit down and be like, "Okay, what are we doing, hun?"' The Rare Beauty founder may have time to begin planning her wedding as her schedule may loosen up a bit after season five on Only Murders in the Building debuts September 9.

Justin Bieber beams in PDA-filled snaps with wife Hailey after airing marriage woes in new album
Justin Bieber shared new images with his wife Hailey Bieber on Sunday. The 31-year-old singer and 28-year-old model — who enjoyed a date night on Friday — looked blissfully happy in several images as they spent time outdoors. Justin and Hailey cozied up to each other on quilts and pillows set on a crop of lush green grass. The Rhode skincare founder wore a long-sleeved white shirt and indigo blue jeans while the SWAG artist was clad in a yellow hoodie and jean shorts. The images were soundtracked by Otis Redding's 1965 tune That's How Strong My Love Is. One closeup snapshot showed Hailey with a flower in her hair, resting her cheek on her husband's back as he smiled. Another showed the happy couple canoodling as she appeared to kiss him while they sat at a table indoors. As has become the norm for the Canadian pop star, he did not provide a caption for the carousel post. But that didn't stop his nearly 300 million followers from getting the content to over one million likes within three hours. And Hailey re-shared it via her Instagram Stories for her 55 million followers to see. Bieber released his surprise seventh studio album, SWAG, to critical acclaim on July 11. Several songs make mention of his public persona, personal struggles, and his commitment to his wife Hailey and their nearly one-year-old baby son Jack Blues. There is also a theme of interludes featuring comedian Druski, during which Justin engages in candid 'therapy sessions' with the social media star. The album also appears to allude to a challenging time between the couple, who have been married since 2018. After months of rumors about the state of the A-list couple's marriage amid concern for Justin's well-being he has vowed to 'change' for his wife following a rocky period. In the album's second track, Daisies, Justin appears to be singing about him and Hailey being at loggerheads and failing to communicate clearly. The lyrics read: 'Throwin' petals like, "Do you love me or not?" / Head is spinnin', and it don't know when to stop / You said "Forever," babe, did you mean it or not? / Hold on, hold on. 'You leave me on read, babe, but I still get the message / Instead of a line it's three dots, but I can connect them / And if it ain't right, babe, you know I respect it / But if you need time, just take your time / Honey, I get it, I get it, I get it.' In track 10 of the 21-song track list, titled Walking Away, Justin sings about the couple 'taking a break' and 'testing patience.' 'Days go by so fast, don't wanna spend them with you / So tell me why you're throwing stones at my back / You know I'm defenseless,' he sings in the first verse. 'Girl, we better stop before we say some s*** / We've been testing our patience / I think we better off if we just take a break,' he continues. But the chorus and subsequent verses paint a picture of their enduring love despite strife. 'Baby, I ain't walking away / You were my diamond / Gave you a ring / I made you a promise / I told you, I'd change / It's just human nature / These growing pains / And baby, I ain't walking away,' he sings in the chorus. Ahead of the album's release, Hailey had some choice words for their fans as she took to social media to promote it. She took aim at the 'losers' who've speculated about their relationship as she re-posted a photo of Justin's massive Swag billboard in NYC's Times Square, captioned: 'Is it finally clocking to you f***ing losers?' She appeared to suggest that Justin's recent bizarre behavior wasn't the result of any marriage troubles but due to him being hard at work on his long-awaited music, which he partially recorded in Iceland back in April. Justin and Hailey will celebrate their only child, son Jack's, first birthday on August 22. They have maintained the tot's privacy by opting not to share his face with the world, strategically only sharing photos that give fans small glimpses of him. The heir made his music video debut days ago as he appeared in the visualizer for his dad's hit song Yukon. In her Vogue cover story in May, she shared about their little one: 'We don't take him to a lot of places. 'We don't want anyone to…. I mean, you've just got to see how invasive it all is. It feels mean to put a baby into that.'

How to stop pesky wasps ruining your BBQ – from the perfumes and outfit colours to avoid to clever DIY garden hacks
CAN'T stop wasps from bugging you? There's a good reason for that. The UK is experiencing a surge in numbers of the yellow and black pests, with the current hot weather creating favourable conditions for the winged stingers to thrive. 5 Pest control company Rentokil reported a 618 per cent increase in people requesting assistance with the winged insects compared to last year. But with an estimated 7,000 species in the UK, how can you get them to leave you alone this summer? Here Laura Stott offers ways to get wasps to buzz off – with some advice from Daniel Steward from Shield Pest Control. PEST-PROOFING TO minimise problems in your domestic environment, there are practical steps you can take that will prevent wasps from getting comfortable in your home. Daniel says: 'Always keep bins – especially those for food and garden waste – tightly sealed with secure lids and clean them regularly. 'Avoid leaving sweet drinks, fruit, meat or pet food outside as these are highly attractive to wasps. 'Seal up any small holes or gaps in lofts, sheds and brickwork to stop wasps from nesting in or around your home. 'Simple caulk or sealant found in any DIY store is ideal for plugging any gaps.' WEAR RED THE colours you wear could impact your chances of being bothered by bugs. Wasps are attracted to bright, bold hues and patterns. Yellow and white tones are more likely to attract as they are similar to the nectar and pollen hues the stingers like to seek out. Any floral patterns are best avoided for the same reasons. Dark colours like navy, black and blue should lead to less bother. Or opt for a red outfit – wasps can't recognise this colour, meaning there's more chance they will leave you alone. DON'T FLAP SHRIEKING or flapping might feel natural when a wasp zooms towards you. But wafting them away is actually one of the worst things you can do. Daniel advises: 'Never swat at them as this can make them more aggressive and increase the risk of being stung.' Wasps may perceive sudden movements like flailing arms as a threat or attack which can provoke them – it's the last thing you want. If one flies towards you, stay still and don't panic. If you need to move away, do so slowly and remain calm to lessen the chance of being pursued. WASP WINS 5 WHILE venomous wasps can seem hard to love when they are plaguing your picnic, it is worth remembering they aren't all bad news and do hold a valuable place in the ecosystem. The insects are natural predators to lots of other pests including greenflies, spiders and other creepy-crawlies. They also have a valuable role to play as pollinators. So try to keep these positives in mind next time they swarm towards your lunch. TRAP TRICKS 5 DIY wasp traps are an easy and effective way of luring the insects out of your space. They work by using something like sugar water to tempt them into a container that they then can't get out of. They are so simple to make yourself without much fuss. Just cut a two-litre bottle of soda in half and then invert the half with the neck to make a funnel shape, and then hang it from a tree or fence. Alternatively, there are plenty of cheap options for sale online and in garden centres. CAFFEINE KICK DON'T chuck away your used coffee grounds – as, believe it or not, they can help deter those pesky yellow and black critters. Once removed from a cafetiere and dried out (or fresh from the packet if you can spare some), simply place a few heaped tablespoons into a heat-safe dish – a washed-out tin of beans would work – and carefully ignite the grounds using a match or lighter. As they start to smoke, they release caffeine and a strong smell which repels wasps. This is an ideal tip if you're hosting a barbecue at home, as while most humans are unoffended by the scent of smoking coffee, wasps hate it – as do mosquitos! DECOY NESTS 5 DANIEL suggests hanging decoy nests to deter wasps, as they are territorial and may avoid areas they believe to be occupied by a colony. You can buy this one from Robert Dyas for £9.99 – or make your own. All you need is a brown paper bag, scissors, tape, string and an old copy of The Sun. Crumple the bag into a ball to give it some texture, recreating that of a real nest. Then stuff some balled-up pages of newspaper inside to puff it out. Cinch the end shut, secure it with tape and use the string to hang it wherever you're entertaining and want to be left alone. PUT A LID ON IT THERE is little you can do to prevent wasps being attracted to your food and drink, but there are simple steps you can take to minimise interruption. Daniel advises: 'Always cover any beverages or food stuffs.' Try using foil, silicone seals or keeping items in fridges or cupboards and not leaving them out in the open. The best way to keep the insects off items is to form a physical barrier to prevent them from getting into it. Keep lids and caps on and pour drinks into cups rather than sipping from open cans or containers to avoid being attacked by any uninvited guests who might be lurking in your tipple. Wipe up spills immediately, especially sugary ones.
