Jett Lawrence graces 2025 Met Gala red carpet with classic style

NBC Sports06-05-2025
Occasionally, an athlete emerges in an established sport with the capacity to change how it is viewed. On Monday, May 5, 2025, Jett Lawrence joined another groundbreaking racer, Lewis Hamilton, at the iconic Met Gala in New York City.
Lawrence was the first SuperMotocross athlete to walk the red carpet at the exclusive event.
'It's honestly an honor,' Lawrence said before being called onto the carpet. 'It shows that moto's expanding into new spaces, and I get to help lead that. I'm proud to rep the sport and show the world we've got style too.'
The theme of the 2025 Met Gala was 'Superfine Tailoring: Black Style, Black Dandyism' which called for fearless expression and boundary-defying elegance. Jett delivered with his boyish good looks and sense of style, showing a sophistication that dirt bike racing often fails to evoke.
Lawrence's suit was tailored by David August, crafted from a deep aubergine self-floral jacquard. The double-breasted suit harkened to an earlier epoch of style, but was modernized with a hidden fly front, sculptural exaggerated peak lapels, and sleek jetted flat pockets.
Standing in the gap between ageless icons of SuperMotocross like Eli Tomac and Ken Roczen and new additions to the 450 division such as Justin Cooper and Christian Craig, Lawrence's Gala experience was a turning point for the sport.
Lawrence was joined by other superstar athletes, including Hamilton, who co-chaired the event, Saquon Barkley, Simone Biles, Joe Burrow, Serena Williams, and Jalen Hurts, plus several others.
Lawrence will return to SuperMotocross for Round 18 of the SMX World Championship and Round 1 of Pro Motocross from Fox Raceway in Pala, California, in two weeks on May 24, 2025.

Jennifer Lawrence Zhuzhes Up a White Tee for Date Night

Regardless of your philosophy on date night outfits—whether you prefer to dress up or keep it casual—everyone wants to feel their best. For Jennifer Lawrence, nothing's better than a plain white tee. Last night, for a parents' night out with her husband Cooke Maroney, the actor donned a simple crewneck T-shirt and a billowing black A-line midi skirt. But as Lawrence knows, accessorizing does the heavy lifting when elevating a look from day to night. (Another subscriber to this sartorial school of thought? Rihanna, whose layered jewelry and silk scarf recently turned a pair of pajamas into daywear.) BACKGRID USA Over her white T-shirt, Lawrence added an intriguing black blazer (likely from Australian brand Dissh) with a short lapel and a long trail of buttons cascading down the front. A documented fan of statement necklaces, the actor added a gold chain with large charms, which she coordinated with black ballet flats with a gold ankle strap. A longtime Dior ambassador, Lawrence toted the French house's monogram top-handle D-Vibe bowling ball bag. A crewneck T-shirt is the cornerstone of almost any Jennifer Lawrence outfit. But the actor is never one to bore us with her style—every look is elevated in some way, be it with the help of an on-trend scarf, a skant, or a funky layering strategy. While the lion's share of her tees are worn during the daytime, this look is a reminder that they work just as well for night.

Calvin Klein is going all in on K-pop hot boy summer with Seventeen member Mingyu

Seventeen's Mingyu is the face of Calvin Klein's Fall 2025 collection. He turned up the heat with promo videos wearing denim fits and repping the brand's iconic waistband. International sales matter to the brand. In 2024, they accounted for about 70% of its total sales. Calvin Klein is doubling down on K-pop, with a campaign starring K-pop star Mingyu of boy band Seventeen. The 28-year-old South Korean rapper and singer is the face of Calvin Klein's Fall 2025 collection. He was spotted modeling several denim outfits in the brand's promotional videos, which were released on Tuesday. In the videos, Mingyu, surrounded by large black speakers and dramatic lighting, showed off Calvin Klein's new pieces, such as its 90s Straight Jeans, and a monogrammed denim top and pants combo. Of course, like most Calvin Klein advertisements, there were shots dedicated to the star shirtless, showing off the iconic waistband of the brand's underwear. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Calvin Klein (@calvinklein) The two videos have racked up millions of views. As of press time, the first video had been viewed more than 1.9 million times, while the second had been viewed over 3.1 million times. Seventeen is a cultural behemoth in Asia and beyond, with a following of 16.2 million on Instagram and its songs amassing millions of streams on Spotify. And its members are getting recognized globally. Seventeen's leader, was the first member of the band to attend the Met Gala. He walked his red carpet debut this year in a Hugo Boss ensemble, a brand for which he is an ambassador. Calvin Klein's collaboration with Mingyu is not its first foray into K-pop. It previously hired stars like BTS's Jungkook, Blackpink's Jennie, and several members of NewJeans. Mingyu, too, has been a Calvin Klein mainstay. He appeared in two of the brand's previous campaigns — Fall 2024 and Spring 2025. Calvin Klein is crucial to keeping international customers happy. According to an earnings report by its parent company, PVH Corp, about 69% of its total sales in 2024, or about $2.48 billion, came from its international business. Calvin Klein's North America sales in 2024 totaled $1.12 billion. The brand's partnership with Puerto Rican rapper and singer Bad Bunny was another international collaboration that paid off hugely. Calvin Klein's video of Bad Bunny's, in which he wears the brand's cotton stretch underwear and dances to the tune of his song EoO, has been viewed 32.6 million times as of press time.

Budds Creek Motocross betting, odds, picks, lines: Justin Cooper, RJ Hampshire are evenly matched

One race remains in the Pro Motocross season as the 450 riders set their sights on the SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX). But first, there is unfinished business in the outdoor season, and while most positions in the points and seeding for the SMX are determined, pride is still on the line and there are bonus checks to be accumulated for the Budds Creek National in Mechanicsville, Maryland. Jett Lawrence wasted no time climbing back to the top of the chart last week in the Unadilla National after suffering his longest losing streak of two races as a 450 Motocross rider. One of those losses came at the hands of the American Motorcycle Association (AMA) when he was penalized a lap for fouling the start at Ironman. Regardless of whether the penalty was too harsh, his mistake was avoidable. The other loss came when he was beaten in head-to-head competition at Washougal. Jett remains the prohibitive favorite with a -278, but that is better than the eight-round average of -450 that he accumulated in his early winning streak. Hunter Lawrence (+252) finished second in both Unadilla motos and was scored second overall. That is a difference of a little less than 60 points from his Unadilla line (+193) and considerably lower than the remainder of the field. Alt Sports Data's traders fully expect the Lawrence brothers to end on a high note. Eli Tomac (+760) smiled with his lips, but there was determination in his eyes when he said he was tired of losing to the Lawrences. He has only one more opportunity to show them why he won so many championships during his storied career. The open question for Tomac is how chemistry with the team has been affected by the knowledge that he will not ride for them in 2026. Justin Cooper's (+1861) Motocross odyssey made him the No. 1 seed for the SMX Playoffs, and his steady progression is apparent in the evolution of his betting line. He debuted at 98/1 at Fox Raceway in Pala, California. A strong top-five overall finish there cut his odds in half for Hangtown the following week (47/1), and since then, his line has been steadily lowered. That is a firm indication that the traders believe he is capable of stringing two solid motos together. He will need a little help from the competition, but if they turn attention to SMX, he could get it. Cooper's podium odds are +178. Notably, RJ Hampshire (+2345, overall win) has slightly lower podium odds (+165) than Copper, while his outright win odds are nearly 500 points higher. Bettors and fans can tell a lot from betting lines, and this suggests they value Hampshire's consistency over that of Cooper. In a head-to-head matchup, has them virtually even with -120 odds for Cooper and -110 for Hampshire. Dylan Ferrandis (+7476) returned to action at Ironman, but it was a last-minute decision. Ferrandis has his first betting line of the season, which is significantly higher than his Supercross season average of +6018.
