Zamalek coach Peseiro concerned about ‘well-organized' Stellenbosch - Egyptian Football
Zamalek's Portuguese coach, José Peseiro, has expressed concerns ahead of his team's clash with South Africa's Stellenbosch in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup quarterfinals on Wednesday.
The 64-year-old Peseiro, who joined Zamalek in February, vowed to fight for a victory in his debut match in the continental tournament.
'We will fight to achieve a positive result against Stellenbosch, and we are determined to win this difficult game,' Peseiro told reporters at the pre-game press conference.
'My goal is to secure the Confederation Cup this season and help Zamalek win their second continental title,' he added.
'We are focused on winning and putting on a good performance to progress to the next round,' the Zamalek coach stated.
Peseiro also highlighted the strength of Stellenbosch, saying, 'Stellenbosch is a newly established team, but they are well-organized on the field and have more talented players in their squad.'
Having enjoyed a perfect start in Egyptian domestic competitions, Peseiro has led Zamalek to eight consecutive games without defeat.
Zamalek advanced to the Confederation Cup quarterfinals by topping Group D with 14 points, while Stellenbosch finished second in Group B with 9 points.
The second leg will be held in Cairo on 9 April.
The winner of the Zamalek-Stellenbosch tie will face the victor of the Masry-Simba clash in the semifinals.

Carvajal Hopes to Make Return from Injury in 2025 FIFA Club World Cup

Rana Atef On Sunday, the highly anticipated 2025 FIFA Club World Cup will kick off in the USA. This edition is the first one to include a 32-team. The opening game will be between Egypt's Al Ahly and USA's Inter Miami. Al-Ahly The most successful and decorated team in Egypt and Africa, as well as one of the most successful in the world. The Cairo giants are the second team with most continental titles in the world after Real Madrid. The Cairo club has dominated in recent years, winning three consecutive league titles and in the past four years, Al Ahly won three CAF Champions League titles. They are also the first Arabic team to win a FIFA club title. The team's coach is Jose Riveiro and he was appointed few weeks before the tournament. Australian Referee Crew to Officiate Al Ahly vs Inter Miami in Club World Cup Opener
H-Tayea FIFA has announced the referee team for the highly anticipated opening match of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup between Al Ahly SC and Inter Miami CF, scheduled to take place at 3:00 AM Cairo time on June 15 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. An Australian officiating crew will take charge of the match, with Alireza Faghani appointed as the main referee. He will be assisted by Anton Shchetinin and Ashley Beecham, with Szymon Marciniak also part of the officiating team.
