Tinder's most swiped-right man finally finds love - but not on app

Stefan first joined the dating app in June 2015, having had difficulty finding love. Fast forward two years, he admits to becoming "became an addict", spending over three hours daily sifting through potential matches. His popularity peaked in 2017 when he earned the title 'Mr Tinder' after an impressive 14,600 users swiped right on his profile - more than any other user.
Despite the sea of potential partners, the male model confesses he "never found love" on any subsequent dates, expressing a preference for meeting 'the one' in person. Stefan, also a trained pilot, has been candid about his past relationships, which "have never worked out".
However, he now confesses to being "left love-struck" following a 'mates' night-out at a Soho bar in October 2024, where he "found Ms Right" in finance manager Vicky Batsford, 43, who took his "breath away". The encounter was "unexpected", but fast forward nine months, the pair are officially an item and are "smitten with each other".
Stefan, who runs a match-making company called Celebrity Love Coach based in Greenwich, said: "I swiped right on her in real life. She stole my attention straight away and everything was easy and natural with her."
Stefan, once dubbed 'Mr Tinder' for his impressive match rate, has found true love and is officially off the market. He said: "At one point, I was getting 40 matches a day on Tinder and had to mute the app. Since then, online dating has never really worked for me.
"Meeting Vicky, I knew things would be different. She's organised, humble, and saw me beyond the Mr Tinder facade. She's the perfect woman for me and I'm completely off-limits now."
The couple's romance sparked during a "spontaneous night out" in October 2024, after Stefan's nine-year Tinder saga involving over 48,000 potential matches. Recalling their first encounter, he said: "She was wearing a fitted black dress and looked super fun. We made eye contact and both smiled while crossing paths."
Stefan shared how their relationship blossomed: "I knew I had to talk to her and we exchanged numbers that night. We quickly became friends and things lifted off from there."
Initially, Vicky was unaware of Stefan's 'Mr Tinder' reputation until she googled him, which left her feeling "intimidated". Vicky, hailing from Essex, admitted: "At first, it was a massive eye roll," but clarified, "But I didn't think anything of it at first, as we were just friends.
"I did ask if he was a s**g, which we laughed about. But after a few more drinks over the following weeks, we chatted more and I found him incredibly interesting. He soon swooned me over."

Stefan had gone on more than 15 dates through Tinder, resulting in four relationships during his nine-year stint. However, he found it challenging to meet 'the one', revealing that out of his 40 daily matches, fewer than five per cent would lead to a conversation.
This struggle worsened after he gained fame in 2017, as he encountered "inauthentic interactions".
"My success with dating apps plummeted after I became Mr Tinder," he admitted. "It's just become a game where people 'swipe on me' just because of who I am."
Stefan relied on finding love through traditional means and was thrilled to have found success. "So finding love the old-fashioned way was what I heavily relied on and I'm chuffed to say it has worked. It was probably in my favour that Vicky perhaps didn't know who I was off the bat," he said.
Vicky acknowledged the "clear differences" between them but was overjoyed to call him her boyfriend. "We come from very different worlds," she said. "I'm way more structured and disciplined - and he's a lot more spontaneous."
Despite their differences, they found a harmonious balance, and their relationship flourished. Earlier this month, Stefan and Vicky made their relationship official, and they plan to move in together soon.
Stefan expressed his optimism about their future, saying "marriage is definitely in the future" with Vicky, whom he believes "truly feels like the real deal".
Drawing from his dating experiences, Stefan founded an online matchmaking site, Celebrity Love Coach, in 2021, which has successfully paired 52 couples. "I found my love and I've always wanted to help others find theirs," he said.
"The dating world is always changing and it's easy to lose hope. But there is love for anyone who is willing to put themselves outside their comfort zone. In the past, I've dated models, nurses - and idiots.
"However, things are different now with my new partner and we live a stable life. It's something I've never had before. But I'm willing to keep it for as long as I can."

The founder of Tinder has moved away from the apps and on to building a Southern-California real estate empire. Justin Mateen purchased a luxury five star resort in Santa Barbara, California for $82.2 million and intends on making major changes, in his latest real estate venture. El Encanto looks over the Pacific Ocean and charges guests over $1,000 a night for a luxury experience in one of its 92 rooms across the seven acre estate. It boasts a 'serene and quiet' atmosphere situated on the Riviera, Forbes called it 'an elegant Santa Barbara hideaway'. Guests can enjoy sweeping views from an array of Riviera-inspired bungalows and villas. Mateen purchased the hotel from Belmond, the hospitality company of retailer LVMH. El Encanto was their only hotel in the United States. He embarked on this project alongside his brother Tyler Mateen and Culver Capital, an investment banking and business consulting firm. For Mateen, this hotel is a long-term project. He told LA Times he hoped to do $40 million in renovations and restore the hotel to its former glory. 'It has a lot of California's rich history and could be one of the nicest hotels in the U.S.,' he said. 'The bones and the structure are irreplaceable.' He told Robb Report: 'We will be pouring love and resources into this iconic property to continue that legacy and ensure that it remains a top destination for visitors from around the world and down the block.' The property was originally purchased in the 1870s and became a hotel in 1918. It has been visited by many of Old Hollywood's dazzling elites like Clark Gable and Carole Lombard. Even 100 years later, the glamourous hotel continues to serve stars like Gwen Stefani, Barbra Streisand and Leonardo DiCaprio. The hotel will remain open during renovations, which are set to take approximately three years. The first order of business is a complete makeover of the grounds with the help of LA architect Mark Rios. The plan is to turn the property into a 'mystical garden'. They also plan on replacing a few of the rooms with coffee shops and membership clubs, but want to keep its original character and charm. Over the past few years, the brothers have been dedicated to purchasing high-profile real estate properties in Southern California. The area's real estate scene is notoriously difficult to break into, but Mateen seems to have had no problem building his empire. The Mateen brothers plan to spend $40 million on renovations of El Encanto, starting with the hotel's grounds. In 2024, in partnership with Pouya Abdi, the brothers spent millions on a five-story office building called the Wilshire Rodeo Plaza in LA, which they hoped to fill with retailers and a roof-top restaurant. The same year, the brothers acquired HHLA entertainment center in Westchester near Playa Vista. They're refurbishing it to house the immersive entertainment company Meow Wolf, among other retail tenants. Mateen and his brother are strategically spending money on their hometown of Los Angeles. The commercial real estate market in the region is currently on a down swing, but the brothers are confident their investments will pay off when it bounces back in the next few years. El Encanto is just one of their many ventures that will help transform their beloved hometown. Under its new leadership, the hotel will operate as a boutique, untethered by any hospitality chain or company. Tyler Mateen said: 'We want to control what's on the menu and how the staff are working.' With hotel sales on the decline in California, coastal properties are looking to sell to affluent buyers who intend on hanging onto the hotel for years to come.
