Helen Flanagan admits she 'wants to stay single' as she candidly discusses feeling 'quite sensitive' dating after split from Robbie Talbot

Daily Mail9 hours ago
Helen Flanagan admitted that she 'wants to stay single' after her split from Robbie Talbot as she opened up about her dating life.
The actress, 34 - who shares kids Matilda, nine, Delilah, six, and Charlie, three, with her ex-fiancé Scott Sinclair - said she is 'quite sensitive' and struggles when dating.
Helen split from professional footballer Scott in 2022 after 13 years together and then moved on with construction worker Robbie, 45, but they split in May.
Speaking to The Mirror, she explained: 'I'm concentrating on the kids, work, moving house and being with my friends.
'I'm quite sensitive and struggle with dating. There's always something with men. Now I want to be single a bit.
'Robbie was very sweet and kind. He was older than me and cared about me. Sometimes relationships just don't work long term.'
Helen went on to admit that after Robbie's daughter Carina and her daughter Delilah became 'close', she will be hesitant to introduce her children to anyone in the future.
Speaking on the Daily Mail's The Life of Bryony podcast in March, just weeks before their split, Helen gushed over her relationship with Robbie.
She said: 'He's lovely. Everybody loves him. I just met him at a bar. I literally, I just, I could not stop laughing at this guy.'
'My boyfriend's actually the funniest guy I've ever met. He's got two kids and he's, he's really beautiful with my children.'
'I think that's what made me fall more in love with him because he's so good with my mental health things and that's the main thing for me that I need.'
'I need someone that's good for me mentally and emotionally, that's my top thing and that's what I've realised.'
'No disrespect to the father of my children, I'll always have that love for him, but he didn't know how to cope with me or didn't know how to do that, and not everybody does, but because the man that I'm with now really knows how to do that, it makes me happy.'
Helen had also previously hinted at wanting more children with the former non-league footballer.
However, friends then claimed Helen had had a change of heart, and she told Robbie their relationship 'wasn't working', with their split emerging in May.
Earlier this week, Helen also discussed her co-parenting struggle and 'mum guilt' over her different bonds with her three children.
Sharing a series of photos with her children, she captioned the Instagram update: 'Looked back at some of my favourite times with the kids this year x
'Found motherhood hard recently, I've felt overwhelmed and stressed the majority of the time and I want to get back to when I'm present and I'm really in it and I'm really enjoying it x I always wanted to be a mum x.
'I get mum guilt with Matilda as I feel like I'm always pre occupied with her brother, I can't give her the energy that I want to give her and I feel like she always sees me at my worst.'
'I also feel like she needs calm which I can never be. Delilah, I feel like I'm getting it right with her and I feel like our bond is tight, so that's something not to beat myself up about. Charlie I could pull my hair out sometimes, I feel like I've got the male version of me x.
'Co parenting is hard and not being a team together and not being able to talk about your anxieties and worries for the kids.'
She concluded: 'I suppose you can only do your best and be kind to yourself but I wanted these on my grid for me as they make my soul happy.'

Is my boyfriend a freak, or is his kink simply too freaky for me?

1 DEAR DEIDRE: I'VE always liked a bit of rough, but I think my latest boyfriend's preferences may be too extreme for me. When he first told me he was into CBT I thought he was talking about counselling. Then it quickly became apparent that he wanted me to kick him in the balls. We've been together for four months and our sex life has been so exciting. He loves me dressing up in sexy underwear and high heels. The first time he asked me to dominate him was thrilling. I walked all over his back - in my stilettos and afterwards we had the most intense sex I've ever experienced. I knew I was in for a kinky ride the first time I saw him naked. He has a ring at the end of his penis which he told me would give me the best orgasms of my life - he wasn't wrong. I'm 44 and he's 46 and we get on just as well out of the bedroom as inside it. The attraction between us is insane but I'm concerned I've reached my limit since he explained he wants me to hurt him down below. I mean how do you get pleasure from that? He says he's had two relationships where his exes were happy to participate and that they enjoyed the sense of dominance and control. He's asked me to try it just once to see if it is for me but I'm too nervous to even go there. What if I seriously injure him? I know he says there is a strong bond between pleasure and pain but his requests are making me feel extremely uneasy. He has lived with anxiety his whole life and says that letting go in the bedroom is one of the few pleasures that give him a real break. So far I've avoided what he calls 'ball play' but I can tell he's not going to let up. What should I do? Give it a chance or run for the hills? DEIDRE SAYS: To start off no one should do anything sexually they are not comfortable with. So if this suggestion is something that churns your stomach and you simply can't face it then you need to be honest with your boyfriend. Discuss if there is a compromise. You clearly have a lively sex life as it stands. Does he need this to get satisfaction or is it simply an option he enjoys? Ball play is better known than you may realise. And while of course there are obvious dangers, devotees say they experience intense pleasure from the practice. For some CBT is about constriction of the penis or testicles, for others it's about inflicting pain on the penis or testicles. If you decide you do want to try the practice, be very clear about your limits and ask him about his. Make sure you have safe words and go slowly to begin with and carefully monitor any reactions. I believe I'm the secret great-great granddaughter of Queen Victoria's and John Brown - and I'm going to take a DNA test to prove it

A woman from the US believes she could be the illegitimate great, great grand-daughter of Queen Victoria amid claims the monarch had a relationship with her most-trusted servant John Brown. Angela Webb-Milinkovich, a health worker from Minnesota, thinks she has lineage stemming from the affair which is speculated have taken place following the death of Victoria's husband Prince Albert. Now new research by historian Dr Fern Riddell raises the possibility that John and the Queen secretly got married and even had a daughter together. It has been alleged that while on paper Angela's great grandmother Mary Ann was the only child of John's brother Hugh and his wife Jessie, Victoria could actually have been her mother. Ms Webb-Milinkovich, 47, said her ultimate goal is to gain recognition from King Charles about her family's place in history. And she is now planning to take a DNA test to try and prove her relationship to the English royals. Ms Webb-Milinkovich told The Mirror: 'My main goal is to have the story acknowledged. 'I want their relationship to be recognised and for the royal family to stop saying it didn't happen.' 'I want the vindication essentially for John Brown and just for my lineage, because they were not able to talk about it,' she added. 'It was something that just became that secret that we couldn't really share, but we knew.' Ms Webb-Milinkovich explained that her family has always believed they were descended from the royal line through baby Mary Ann. However, she only realised the extent of the connection when she was contacted by Dr Riddell during the four years of research for her new book 'Victoria's Secret'. The birth of Mary Ann, who is the supposed love child, was registered in 1865, soon after childless Jessie and Hugh emigrated to New Zealand. Dr Riddell has claimed that Victoria could have easily concealed that she was pregnant and had the child sent away to the other side of the world to avoid a scandal. Moreover, it has been documented that in 1874 Victoria arranged for the family to be brought back to Scotland, where they lived on the Balmoral estate. Queen Victoria's close relationship with her manservant John was widely documented in the 1997 movie Mrs Brown – starring Judi Dench and Billy Connolly. It shows the monarch, widowed and scared, beginning to see the handsome Scots ghillie as her protector. For the next 20 years, no one was closer to the Queen. John ran her daily errands and put his life on the line to save her from would-be assassins. He spent hours alone with her every day and in her private house in the Highlands, he had the bedroom next to hers. Then after Victoria's death in 1901, on the orders of her eldest son, Edward VII, the Palace set about erasing John from the record. Victoria's journals were copied, edited, and the originals destroyed. Those who have attempted to bring John and Victoria's story to light have found themselves blocked, dismissed or ridiculed by powerful forces. As recently as 1987, when the family of James Reid, Victoria's doctor, set out to publish his diaries for the first time – revealing what he had witnessed of Victoria's intimate relationship with John – Princess Margaret personally attempted to halt publication. Writing for the Mail earlier this month, Dr Fern said: 'Years of researching – and talking to the Brown family – have led me to conclude that Victoria and John did have an intimate relationship. 'Not only that, but rumours that they secretly married and had a child that was spirited away to be brought up outside the Royal Family may indeed have some foundation. 'Could it be that Mary Ann, whose birth was registered soon after Hugh and Jessie's arrival in New Zealand in 1865, was actually Victoria and John's child, sent to the furthest reach of the empire in secret?,' she added. 'After much detective work, I had tracked down Angela, one of Hugh and Jessie's last surviving relatives, in the USA. 'On our late-night Zoom call, she revealed to me the bombshell story that had been passed down her family. 'If true, it would make Angela the great-great-granddaughter of Queen Victoria. 'It may seem outlandish, but I can't discount the possibility – however remarkable – that Victoria had the capacity and ability to disguise a pregnancy in the mid-1860s, give birth, and then keep the baby a secret. 'Without DNA evidence, of course, we'll never know – and given the secrecy that surrounds this story, that is unlikely to be forthcoming from the Royal Family.'

Kerry Katona takes a brutal swipe at Brooklyn Beckham as she weighs in on nepotism row

Kerry Katona didn't hold back as she took a brutal swipe at Brooklyn Beckham during her latest interview with The Sun on Friday. In a joint interview with her best friend Katie Price, the reality star mothers weighed in on the nepotism debate as they discussed their hopes for their daughters to appear on Love Island. Speaking about giving Heidi, 18, a leg up in the industry, Kerry shot down any claims of nepotism as she explained: 'Everyone talks about nepotism right, but everyone has a contact for somebody. 'I can open a door for you. Whether you get through that door and you stay through it, that's on your own f*****g merit.' Taking a swipe at the eldest Beckham child she added: 'You don't see Brooklyn Beckham playing f*cking football, because he's s**t.' Brooklyn, now 26, famously quit football after realising it would be 'difficult' to live up to his father David. The budding chef, previously played in Arsenal's youth academy but decided to give up the sport when the club released him at 16. Daily Mail have contacted both Kerry and Brooklyn's representatives for comment. David, 50, has been hailed as one of the greatest midfielders of his generation and won 19 major trophies throughout his 20-year football career. Speaking to Variety back in 2022, Brooklyn said his father 'wasn't sad' to see him give up the sport, despite it being his 'life' from a young age. He said: 'My dad wasn't sad, because he was like, "I just want you to be happy." But of course I was sad. It was my whole life since I was literally two. 'To try and live up to what my dad did in football, I was just like, "that's going to be a bit difficult." ' Since abandoning his football career, Brooklyn has explored other avenues including cooking and photography. As well as working with multiple brands he also launched his own hot sauce brand, Cloud 23, last year. Weighing in on the nepo baby debate himself last year he admitted: 'Obviously I am one. But I couldn't help how I was born, at all.' Speaking to Grazia magazine, he revealed that while he understands why the public can feel irked by nepo babies, Brooklyn said he tries to ignore the 'rubbish' people say rather than dwell on it. He added: 'There's always going to be people that say rubbish. But as long as you do something that makes you happy and you're kind to people, that's all that matters. 'I'm always gonna get it, no matter what I do. And I'm fine with that. It makes me work harder, because I'm like, I'm gonna prove these people wrong.' Speaking about his hot sauce brand he told Delish magazine: 'I did my research and I just felt like there was this hole in the market with luxury condiments, especially for a really good price.' Explaining his move into condiments, he said, 'I've always been a foodie. I've always been lucky enough to travel to different places in the world with my mum and dad. Obviously my dad with football, we lived in Madrid, we lived in LA, Milan. 'Then Covid happened, I met my wife and started cooking for her and just fell in love with it. And now it's just something that just takes my mind off of things.'
