
Ajman Transport Authority launches new smart taxi service

Ajman Transport Authority has launched a new smart taxi-hailing service in partnership with the Yango app, part of the global tech company Yango Group. The app allows users to book and track taxis in real time, supporting Ajman's wider digital transformation and smart city strategy.
The initiative aims to enhance mobility across the emirate by offering a seamless, tech-driven transport experience. Features of the Yango app include real-time vehicle tracking, digital payment options, and booking details—streamlining the way residents and visitors move around Ajman.

Eng. Sami Ali Al Jallaf, Executive Director of the Public Transport and Licensing Agency, said the new service reflects the Authority's ongoing efforts to implement sustainable, intelligent transport solutions in line with community needs.
'This partnership with Yango is part of our vision to support Ajman's smart city strategy by providing modern, responsive transportation services,' Al Jallaf said. 'It also strengthens our collaboration with the private sector and empowers local transport operators through innovation.'
The launch follows a formal cooperation agreement signed between the Authority and Yango Group to operate smart taxis and integrate them into Ajman's digital infrastructure. The move is expected to enhance customer satisfaction and boost quality of life in the emirate.
Al Jallaf added that the Authority is continuing to develop and expand its digital taxi booking platforms, noting that the integration of Yango supports the broader goal of building an inclusive, tech-enabled transportation ecosystem.

The point-of-sales constituted 56% of the payment system transaction, followed by e-commerce 26%, Fawran or instant payment system 17% and Qatar Mobile Payment at 1% in the review period, the QCB said in its social medial handle X. There were 42.74mn card transactions through point-of-sales, which enables merchants to process payments and log transactions, valued at QR8.55bn in the review period. The 0.45mn e-commerce transaction were valued at QR3.97bn in the review period. The point-of-sales and e-commerce together constituted QR12.52bn in May 2025. Fawran – a real-time payment service in Qatar, allowing users to send and receive money instantly and securely within the country – registered as many as 1.65mn transactions valued at QR2.59bn in the review period. There have been a total of 3.1mn total registered Fawran accounts. Fawran was launched in 2024 and system members are QNB, Commercial Bank, Qatar Islamic Bank, Ahli Bank, Dukhan Bank, Doha Bank, QIIB and AlRayan Bank. Qatar Mobile Payment (QMP) – which allows immediate transfer of funds between registered customers through any registered payment service providers – saw as many as 189,000 transactions valued at QR181.97mn in May 2025. There has been a total of 1.34mn registered wallets. The QMP is a centralised payment system that was launched in 2020, to enable individuals and corporates to perform instant fund transfers between e-wallets within payment service providers in Qatar. The system members are QNB, Commercial Bank, Doha Bank, Qatar Islamic Bank, Ahli Bank, QIIB, Arab Bank, HSBC Qatar, AlRayan Bank, Dukhan Bank, i-pay and Ooredoo Money. Qatar Payment System (QPS) is designed on the concept of real-time gross settlement (RTGS) and electronic straight through processing (e-STP). QPS is based on the SWIFT network and messages standards and utilises the SWIFT messages to reconcile and settle the local payments and securities ownership transfers. QPS is linked to the QCB clearing system, book-entry government securities system, and currency issuing application. All applications are driven by swift messages such as (MT202, MT203). Saudi re-issues $628mln in debt instruments to boost liquidity
Saudi Arabia is re-issuing several government debt instruments with a combined value of SAR 2.35 billion ($628 million), providing investors further opportunities within the kingdom's debt market. The re-issuances will commence from today, June 26, 2025. The latest offering has effectively increased the value of several debt instruments that were previously listed, dating as far back as 2017, and they are as follows: Tadawul Code: 5274 (Original issuance: January 10, 2019) will see an increase of SAR 1.175 billion, bringing its total to more than SAR 27.6 billion. Tadawul Code: 5339 (Original issuance: January 15, 2024) will increase by around SAR 650 million, reaching a total of approximately SAR 21.5 billion. Tadawul Code: 5344 (Original issuance: April 12, 2024) will go up by SAR 5 million, taking the total to SAR 27.7 billion. Tadawul Code: 5333 (Original issuance: August 9, 2023) will rise by SAR 500 million, making its total SAR 42.1 billion. Tadawul Code: 5245 (Original issuance: July 10, 2017) will have an increase of SAR 25 million, bringing the total to SAR 1.6 billion. The kingdom's debt capital market (DCM) is forecast to continue its strong momentum this year on the back of diversification efforts. The market is likely to reach $500 billion by the end of 2025, according to Fitch.
