The Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut has been subjected to a bit of a leg day at the company's dedicated test track (read: former military airstrip) and has casually reeled off a litany of scary numbers.
Numbers like 0-62mph in 2.79s. Like 62mph to 124mph in 2.74s. Like 124mph to 186mph in 3.96s. A standing quarter mile in 8.88s, and the small matter of a standing half-mile in 13.27s at a heady 223.5mph.

Two hundred and twenty-three miles per hour (359.83kmh) in 13.27s to cover off half a mile. That's… yeah, scary.
But then the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut is a scary car. Underneath lurks a very dark heart: a 5.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 capable of revving out to 8,500rpm, sending 1,600bhp and 1,106lb ft to the rear wheels and rear wheels alone via a nine-speed gearbox.
It's also the fastest ever Koenigsegg – a car Christian imagines will comfortably hit that magic 300mph+ mark. 'The name Absolut comes from the fact that this is the absolute fastest Koenigsegg we will ever make,' CvK said on the car's launch.
Speaking of, click below to see it launch off the line – with minimal fuss – to very casually reel off a litany of scary numbers.

Revealed: Lewis Hamilton APOLOGISED off-camera to Sky Sports presenter after terse interview following Spanish GP - where Ferrari star made a brutal admission about his team

Lewis Hamilton issued an off-air apology to Sky Sports presenter Rachel Brookes following his downbeat interview following the Spanish Grand Prix on Sunday. The Ferrari driver came home in seventh but was bumped up one place after Max Verstappen careered into George Russell, an incident which saw him demoted down to 10th. Unable to keep up with the two McLarens and Verstappen, Hamilton was told to let Charles Leclerc pass him early in the race, giving his team-mate a leg up as he went on to finish third. Hamilton's frustrations were increased when he was passed by Sauber's Nico Hulkenberg on the penultimate lap of the race. The 40-year-old, who joined Ferrari on a £40million-deal this year, was visibly frustrated when interviewed by Brookes for Sky Sports after the race. Pressed on his comment over team radio that there was 'something wrong' with his car, and for his immediate reaction to the race, Hamilton replied: 'Not particularly, it was not a great day. The strategy was good, the team did a great job. Just, that's it.' Brookes then told Hamilton: 'I hate seeing you in this mood.' Hamilton quickly responded, replying: 'Well what do you want me to say? I had a really bad day and I've got nothing to say. 'It was a difficult day, I've got nothing else to add to it. There's no point explaining it. It's not your fault, I've just not got anything to say.' Brookes admitted she hopes Ferrari will be able to find a fix for his woes, but Hamilton said: 'I'm sure they won't, the answer is probably just me.' Sky Sports commentator David Croft, speaking on T he Fast and The Curious podcast, has now revealed Hamilton had apologised to Brookes off-camera for the nature of the interview. '[Lewis Hamilton] was really down on himself, and no one likes to see that because at the end of the day, whether you're a fan or not, Lewis Hamilton is the greatest racing driver we've ever seen,' Croft said. 'Statistically, he is the greatest. I think he's the greatest even without the stats. He wears his heart on his sleeve and should be applauded for that because it does a lot of good when he wears his heart on his sleeve. 'He did apologise to Rachel Brookes for being so down in the dumps off camera. He said, "I'm really sorry about that, I'm just so down". 'And that just shows the extent that he really was down. He's not putting this on for the cameras, trust me. And once again, it's right after the race. He's not had time for a debrief. He's not had time to have a chat with his race engineer. 'So he probably didn't know the extent of whatever damage the car had at the time he spoke to Rachel. 'And he probably didn't realise that it was the car that was hindering him more so than his driving in that one. 'And look, when you're in a Ferrari and you're overtaken by Nico Hülkenberg, albeit in a Ferrari-powered Sauber, you're going to question, 'Is it me really? Am I doing something wrong here?' Because it just didn't go for him really from the outset.' Reports have since claimed Hamilton had picked up floor damage during the race, which may have impacted his Ferrari in the closing stages on Sunday. Hamilton currently trails Ferrari team-mate Leclerc by 23 points in the drivers' championship, with the seven-time world champion is sixth in the overall standings. Hamilton has finished six of his first nine Ferrari races outside of the top five since making the lucrative move.

Honda's Harrison claims first TT win in six years

Dean Harrison won his first Isle of Man TT race since 2019 with victory in the Superstock TT on Tuesday. Honda rider Harrison overhauled Superbike TT winner Davey Todd in the two-lap sprint around the 37.7 mile course to win by 11.656 seconds. The race had been due take place on Tuesday afternoon but wet weather postponed the race until the evening and also saw it reduced to two Dunlop, who won the Supersport race on Monday, finished in third. "I got the hammer down from the start," Harrison told TT Plus."I really dug deep and the bike was really good. I've been third and second, so to get another TT win is magic. "I can't thank the team enough. It's been a long time coming, I've over the moon." With a two-lap race and no pit stops, emphasis was placed on a fast start and it was Todd who set the early pace. The BMW rider led by 0.2 seconds by Glen Helen over Harrison, with James Hillier just ahead of Nathan Harrison and Dunlop in third. Todd's lead was up to a second at Ballaugh, and he doubled his advantage by the time he reached the Bungalow. However, it was over the Mountain that Harrison started to chip away at Todd's advantage. The Yorkshire rider pulled back a second-and-a-half to end the lap just 0.4 seconds behind heading onto the second and final lap. Harrison found 2.3 seconds on Todd in the first sector to Glen Helen, and from there he didn't look back as he moved 3.2 seconds clear by Ballaugh Bridge. As Todd battled traffic, Harrison, with clean road in front of him, was able to extend his lead to five seconds by Ramsey Hairpin, and the final margin was 11 seconds. His final lap of 135.692mph was more than enough to claim his fourth victory at the Isle of Man TT and the popularity of his victory was evident by the cheers in the winners' enclosure as he crossed the line. It was a first win for Honda in the Superstock race since Dunlop triumphed in held on to third after battling an electronic issue on his BMW.

New Peugeot 208 and 2008 GT Premium trim adds Alcantara, more tech and boosted EV range

A new Peugeot 208 is set to arrive next year, but the French firm is still looking to keep the current model competitive - adding a new GT Premium version and increasing the range of the all-electric E-208 to a maximum of 268 miles. The new GT Premium trim is also offered in the 208's crossover sibling, the 2008, representing the most lavish and best-equipped edition in the line-up. Available to order now, the 208 GT Premium is priced from £28,295 with a 1.2-litre PureTech petrol engine, from £30,100 as a Hybrid, and from £34,000 for the E-208. The 2008 GT Premium is priced at £35,095 with the 128bhp PureTech petrol, £35,870 in Hybrid guise, and £39,310 for the electric E-2008. Peugeot's driver assist pack plus also comes as standard, adding adaptive cruise control with stop and go functionality and active lane-keep assist. On the outside, the 208 GT Premium gets 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels (the 2008 gets 18-inch wheels), three-claw daytime running lights and aluminium door sills with Peugeot lettering. Both the E-208 and E-2008 GT Premium get a heat pump as standard, which not only reduces energy consumption in colder months, but also has improved the range in the E-208 by 14 miles to 268 miles - improving on the new Vauxhall Corsa Electric Long Range and its 266-mile maximum. The 7kW and optional 11kW onboard chargers now come with bi-directional Vehicle-to-load capability on both the E-208 and E-2008 GT Premium models. The 208 Hybrid is offered in two states: there's a new 109bhp version replacing the old 99bhp model, and a 144bhp Hybrid 145 edition replacing the Hybrid 134. The latter has only just arrived on Stellantis products this year and in the 208 it's good for a 0-62mph time of 8.1 seconds while delivering claimed efficiency of up to 65mpg. The 2008 Hybrid is only offered with the more powerful of the two powertrains. Buy a car with Auto Express.
