Rangers sideline Tyler Mahle with shoulder fatigue and call up Kumar Rocker
The Texas Rangers placed right-hander Tyler Mahle on the 15-day injured list Sunday with fatigue in his throwing shoulder.
The move is retroactive to Thursday and right-hander Kumar Rocker was called up from Triple-A Round Rock to take his place on the roster. Rocker is scheduled to take Mahle's spot in the rotation and start Sunday against the Chicago White Sox.

Mahle, who was limited to just three starts last season while recovering from Tommy John surgery, is 6-3 with a 2.34 ERA in 14 starts this season.
The 25-year-old Rocker is 1-4 with an 8.87 ERA in six starts for the Rangers this season.

That obviously hasn't happened, as a torn labrum in his non-throwing shoulder sustained in the 2024 World Series threw off his offseason rehab timetable. The Dodgers have been as hazy as possible when it comes to Ohtani's current timetable, though it's well-established he won't be going on a rehab assignment because his bat is too valuable. Roberts' comments on Sunday indicated the date might not be too far ahead in the future. Advertisement It's been a chaotic time in general for the Dodgers' rotation, which is currently without Blake Snell, Tyler Glasnow, Roki Sasaki and many more. Glasnow and Snell could both be a month away, while Roberts said Sunday that Sasaki has been shut down from throwing, with no timetable for a return. When asked if Sasaki, currently on the IL with a right shoulder impingement, was no longer in the team's long-term plans for 2025, Roberts answered in the affirmative. The rotation is at least set to get a boost soon, as Emmet Sheehan, out since spring training of 2024 with Tommy John surgery, is currently finishing up a rehab assignment. Roberts said there is a "very high likelihood" of him getting activated to fill a rotation hole on either Tuesday or Wednesday.

Satou Sabally's 22 points lead Phoenix Mercury past Las Vegas Aces 76-70
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Satou Sabally scored 22 points with nine rebounds, Alyssa Thomas added 14 points and 13 assists and the Phoenix Mercury defeated the Las Vegas Aces, still without MVP A'ja Wilson, 76-70 on Sunday. Sami Whitcomb added 18 points off the bench, with her fourth 3-pointer proving critical, coming just 13 seconds after Jewell Loyd hit a 3-pointer to bring the Aces within three points with 1:37 to play. Kahleah Copper scored 11 points in her first game of the season for the Mercury (8-4) after suffering a preseason knee injury.
