2025 offseason roster profile: T Jackson Barton

Next up is tackle Jackson Barton.
2024 Jackson Barton stats, season
Barton's season was marked by starting and getting hurt.
He began the season on the practice squad, was elevated to the roster in Week 2 to be the backup tackle when Kelvin Beachum moved into the starting lineup.
When Beachum injured his hamstring, Barton made his first NFL start in Week 3 but suffered a toe injury late in the game, landing him on the practice squad injured reserve for nine games before being reinstated to the practice squad.
He was elevated to the roster in Week 16 and, after both Paris Johnson and Jonah Williams got hurt, was signed to the active roster in Week 17, starting at right tackle, only to get hurt in practice in the final week and land on injured reserve for the final game of the season.
2025 contract status
Barton will be an unrestricted free agent next month when the new league year begins.
Outlook for 2025
Barton showed he is capable of playing at an NFL level. He played well in his two starts but got hurt both times.
While he is going to be a free agent, it seems likely that he will re-sign with the team on a one-year deal to compete once again for a roster spot. With Beachum set to be a free agent as well, if he is not re-signed, the Cardinals have the backup swing tackle role open for competition.
It should be no surprise to see him come back on a one-year, league-minimum deal, assuming his ankle injury is healed.

We're now in the top 30 in the newest NFL players ranking of the best in the game currently. This is where the list gets extremely hard to make, as there are so many fantastic players in the league, all deserving of respect. But this is why the players get paid the big bucks. Iowa fans most recently saw George Kittle come in at 31st on the ranking, but he wasn't the highest-ranked former Hawkeye on the list. Because that honor belongs to one of the offensive tackles in the entire game. A guy who can play both left and right tackle at an elite level. And a player who just became the highest-paid offensive lineman in the history of the NFL. Tristan Wirfs was named the 28th-best player in the entire league by his fellow players. Wirfs' place on this list is very fair, maybe even a little bit too low. He's a four-time Pro Bowler, two-time First-team All-Pro, and a Super Bowl champion. Oh, and he's only 26 years old. The sky is the limit for Wirfs in terms of what he can do the rest of his career. There's a very good chance he could go down as the best offensive lineman to ever play the game. It's high praise, but he's deserved it with what he's done in the league so far. There's also a good chance that Wirfs ends up being the highest-ranked former Hawk on this list, just beating out Kittle. The rest of the list is still being revealed gradually, so we'll have to wait and see if that's the case. Regardless, it's a great accomplishment for Wirfs and another ledger to add to his resume. It's great to see a former Hawkeye have this much success in the NFL, especially after a stellar career in Iowa City. And it'll be exciting to see what Wirfs can do in 2025. 30 most important Buffalo Bills players of 2025: No. 7 Greg Rousseau
As the Buffalo Bills prepare for the 2025 NFL season, we'll take a look at the most important contributors on their roster. They have a ton of cornerstone players who will be returning for another shot at bringing a Lombardi Trophy to Buffalo, and they'll have help from some new additions as well. Leading up to the season, we will be counting down the top 30 most important players on the roster. We'll recap their 2024 season, look ahead to what they'll offer in 2025, and tackle the most pressing questions surrounding them this coming year. Next up on the countdown is Greg Rousseau. Background Position: Defensive end Age at start of season: 25 Experience: Fifth year 2025 cap hit: $5,877,000 2024 recap Greg Rousseau, although his stats don't measure up to some of the premier pass rushers around the NFL, continues to be an all-round defensive end for the Bills. In 2024, he recorded career-highs in multiple categories, including forced fumbles (3), sacks (8), tackles (53), tackles for loss (16), and QB hits (24). This resulted in a four-year, $80 million extension this offseason, with $54 million guaranteed. He graded as the 12th-best defensive end in the NFL in 2024, according to Pro Football Focus. 2025 outlook Rousseau will again be the leader of the defensive end room and there are a handful of guys coming in to compete for snaps. The Bills brought in veterans Joey Bosa and Michael Hoecht, and drafted Landon Jackson in the third round, to join the room with Rosseau and A.J. Epenesa. Rousseau is a big part of the defense's future, which is why he was extended. General manager Brandon Beane will be looking for his big-dollar DE to continue to take strides as he has each year since being drafted in the first round in 2021. Biggest question: Can he reach double-digit sacks? Rousseau is one of the most well-rounded edge defenders in the game, and it has made him the 13th-highest paid player at his position. But, when it comes to getting sacks, he ranked tied-for-27th in 2024 with eight. Rousseau could be mentioned with the top players at his position if he posted more sacks. YouTube Unveils Broadcasters For Platform's First-Ever Live NFL Game
On Tuesday, YouTube announced the broadcast talent for its first-ever live NFL game. The Los Angeles Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs will meet at Corinthians Arena in São Paulo, Brazil on Sept. 5. Sports media veteran Rich Eisen, who is expected to once again appear on ESPN platforms following the company's recent acquisition of NFL Network, will serve as the play by play caller for the Week 1 matchup. It's the NFL's second consecutive year playing a regular season game in Brazil. Eisen will be joined by analyst and Super Bowl XXXIV champion Kurt Warner. Stacey Dales and YouTuber Donald De La Haye, who is also known as Deestroying, will both serve as sideline reporters for the free exclusive broadcast on the video platform, which has experienced a rise in recent years as a sports programming destination for media networks, leagues and teams. Deestroying, a former player at Central Florida, boasts more than 6.3 million subscribers on YouTube where he's documented his journey of trying to become an NFL kicker. He played for the UFL's San Antonio Brahmas over the last two seasons but was plagued by recurring injuries. Rules expert Terry McAulay will also join the YouTube broadcast. Meanwhile, sports media personality Kay Adams, who hosts the daily 'Up & Adams Show' on FanDuel TV, will host the on-site show in Brazil with Heisman Trophy winner and analyst Cam Newton, a three-time Pro Bowler and NFL Most Valuable Player in 2015. At the NFL Network's studios in Los Angeles, Brandon Marshall — a six-time Pro Bowl wide receiver across 13 seasons in the NFL — will moderate the conversation around the game in South America. He will be joined by analysts Derek Carr, who retired in May after an 11-year career mostly with the Las Vegas Raiders, and Tyrann Mathieu, a former standout defensive back at LSU and Super Bowl champion. Fantasy football analyst Peter Overzet will also provide commentary and analysis for the regular season game, which will feature Colombia singer Karol G as the halftime performer during the first-ever live NFL game on YouTube.
