BRITS go from being annoyed at being ID'd to 'delighted' once they turn 29 years old, according to research.
A poll of 2,000 adults revealed 43 per cent found it annoying to be asked for proof of age as a young adult.

Yet 45 per cent of all adults - rising to 56 per cent of Millennials - would be delighted if they were to get ID'ed at their current age.
But the average age the ID proof requests stop was around 27 years old – two years before the average age they'd like to still be asked.
More than half (59 per cent) would be delighted if a shop assistant checked their age as it'd make them feel young, while 39 per cent admitted it boosts their confidence – and 30 per cent think it makes for a great story.
While 12 per cent secretly love the drama of pulling out their formal identification.

With Millennials, those aged 28 to 44, the most likely to immediately start bragging to friends and family if it happened to them now (56 per cent compared to 36 per cent of Boomers).
The research was commissioned by PopWorks, which in collaboration with Malibu, has created Pina Colada flavoured popped corn snacks - which the brand is cheekily asking customers to provide ID for before purchase.
The snack brand took over the All Good Convenience Store in London's Victoria and asked customers of different ages to show ID for various items to see which age groups were disappointed - or delighted - to be asked.
Maggie Saint John, from PopWorks, said: "It's funny how things change.

'You hit a certain age - 29 to be exact - and suddenly being ID'd feels like a compliment, when many of us spent years before dreading it.
'But no matter your age, whether you love or hate flashing your ID, it's not an issue with our new popped corn snack, they're totally alcohol free.'

With 54 per cent claiming the cocktail flavour reminds them of being on holiday.

The rapper denies all the charges. 16:52:01 Defence attempts to show inconsistencies over alleged balcony incident Questioning turns to the alleged balcony incident - Bryana Bongolan previously told the court she was hung over the edge of a 17th floor balcony by Sean "Diddy" Combs in 2016. Defence lawyer Nicole Westmoreland is attempting to show inconsistencies between statements in court and statements to investigators beforehand, as well as a lawsuit she filed against Diddy in 2024. Bongolan maintains in court again now that Combs held her over the balcony and then threw her into furniture. Asked if she told government investigators that the incident was witnessed by Cassie, she says she doesn't recall. The judge says text messages will be read aloud in court. 15:34:17 Diddy trial: Day 17 - what to expect Bryana Bongolan, who alleges she was dangled over the edge of a 17th-floor apartment balcony by Sean Combs in 2016, will return to the stand to finish her testimony today. Afterwards, a former girlfriend of Diddy's - who is using the pseudonym "Jane" - is expected to begin what lawyers have said will be several days of testimony. Jane was allegedly engaged in commercial sex acts "as a result of force, fraud or coercion" by the hip-hop mogul. "The defendant used lies, drugs, threats, and violence to force and coerce, first, Cassie, and later Jane, to have sex with him in front of male escorts," prosecutors said in their opening statement at the beginning of the trial. "The defendant insisted that the sex occur in a very specific, highly orchestrated way. These sexual performances lasted multiple days and they involved multiple escorts." Like the testimony of Combs's former long-term partner Cassie, Jane's evidence will be crucial to this case. 15:17:32 A reminder of the charges Here's a reminder of the five felony charges faced by Sean "Diddy" Combs: Racketeering conspiracy; Two counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion; Two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. The rapper was initially charged with three offences - racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. Two extra counts - one each of sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution - were added earlier in April. Combs has pleaded not guilty to all charges. What the charges mean Racketeering broadly means engaging in an illegal scheme or enterprise, and the charge falls under the Racketeering Influenced and Corrupt Organisations Act (RICO) in the US. According to the US justice department's definition of RICO statute, it is also illegal to "conspire to violate" the laws. The prosecution alleges that between 2008 and 2024, Combs "led a racketeering conspiracy that engaged in sex trafficking, forced labour, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice, among other crimes". In the aptly named Kent town of Deal, National Fish and Chip Day was celebrated with 300 portions of chips given away, as well as a limited run of battered fish. The Dacia Spring, which its makers say is the cheapest electric vehicle currently on the market, was the power behind the frying, in partnership with local chippy, The Blue Mermaid Fish Bar. It comes after a poll of 2,000 adults found fish and chips is the most popular treat on a British holiday, as well as cream tea and hot doughnuts. Others to feature in the top 20 list include Mr Whippy ice cream, Cornish pasties and mussels. Quintessentially British foods, such as fish finger sandwiches, strawberries and cream and a pie and mash also featured in the ranking. A spokesperson for car brand Dacia said: 'It was fun treating passers-by today and showing the power of our electric car, Spring, using its vehicle to load technology, which allows you to power external devices off the car's battery. 'It's no surprise we have a national day dedicated to the iconic meal that is fish and chips and the study shows just how much we love it and associate it with holidays by the seaside. 'Playing on the phrase 'cheap as chips' in line with our affordable car and being in the appropriately named Deal, was a great way to celebrate National Fish and Chip Day.' The research also found 41% of adults describe such foods as nostalgic, while 45% feel satisfied after eating them. When ordering a classic fish and chips, cod (48%) and haddock (19%) were the most popular choices, but 69% simply order a portion of chips. It also emerged 44% believe fish and chips is the 'food of the people' and 39% said class doesn't impact how people eat it. While 46% feel there is something nostalgic about eating the British staple with a wooden fork, which 33% typically do, although 38% opt to eat it by hand. Food psychologist, James Cornish, said: 'There are few things that unite the British public quite like fish and chips. 'Golden, salty, comforting, and steeped in history, this timeless dish is more than a meal - it's a national treasure. 'Loved across generations, social classes, and regions, it's one of those rare things that truly brings us together. 'There's a certain kind of magic in fish and chips - a simple meal that somehow carries the weight of memory, comfort, and delight. 'Maybe it's because we don't expect too much from humble food, but our delight is excelled through the delivering of more than we expected.'
