Tim Burton's Batman Returns To Theatres This Month At A Very Limited Capacity
The iconic Tim Burton-directed Batman films are making a big return to theatres. In a report from Variety, it has been announced that Batman (1989) and Batman Returns (1992) will make another theatrical run on August 25. The films have been recognized as the first foray into the darker portrayals of Batman, with instantly memorable performances from Michael Keaton, Michelle Pfeiffer, Jack Nicholson and Danny DeVito being exalted for their portrayals of the DC Comics ensemble.
The films will be featured in their re-released remastered theatre production versions, and the films will be hosted at over 160 Dolby Cinema at AMC Theatres locations across the U.S. This marks the first time both films will be presented in Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. As a reminder of what's in store for fans, the 1989 film's trailer can be seen below.
In a statement on the re-releases, Tim Burton said, 'I hadn't watched these films since I made them, and seeing them again with this level of clarity, beauty, colour, and sound felt really new and exciting,' adding, 'Dolby Atmos and Vision brought it all to life in a fresh way.' President of Global Distribution at Warner Bros. Pictures, Jeff Goldstein, agrees with Burton, saying, 'Tim Burton's acclaimed Batman films deliver a dark, iconic vision of Gotham City that continues to influence the modern superhero genre today. With their advancements over the past decades, Dolby now transforms these beloved classics into completely new cinematic experiences through Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, delivering unprecedented visual and audio fidelity.'
Interestingly enough, Tim Burton's Batman Returns was the first feature-length film to be released in Dolby Digital back in 1992, giving audiences everywhere the first exposure to what fans know as surround sound in 2025. The film re-releases serve as features that show how far the film industry has come in over three decades since both films first landed in theatres.
The Batman and Batman Returns double feature lands on August 25, and AMC locations showing the films can be found listed here.

Through this partnership, we are excited to offer them a premium collection of distinctly British series to complement their viewing experience, including acclaimed series, fan-favorite franchises, standout performances from celebrated talent, and exceptional storytelling across mystery, crime, drama, and comedy,' Robert Schildhouse, President, BritBox, said in a that you only have a few short weeks to enjoy your BritBox titles, here are three new-to-you series that you should add to your next HBO Max streaming session. One of the best British shows you can watch on the U.S., the Idris Elba-led British crime thriller 'Luther' will be available to stream on HBO Max, with season 1 on the platform from August 1 to 30, and season 2 available through the month of September. A Golden Globe-winning Idris Elba plays Detective Chief Inspector John Luther, a brilliant but tortured homicide detective (is there any other kind?) who has a knack for getting inside the minds of serial killers, including the psychopathic murderer Alice Morgan (played by Ruth Wilson), who becomes both his nemesis and unlikely companion. It is unconventional professional methods like that, as well as his own lingering personal demons, that put Luther at odds with his team. Watch 'Luther' on HBO Max now Long before there was Michael Scott (Steve Carell), Dunder Mifflin's 'World's Best Boss' and protagonist of the U.S. version of 'The Office,' there was David Brent (Ricky Gervais, who also created the comedy alongside Stephen Merchant), the hilariously insufferable manager of the Wernham Hogg paper company. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. Like its American remake, the British original follows the relatable, mundane but downright hysterical day-to-day lives of office employees, with a cast that includes Martin Freeman, Mackenzie Crook and Lucy Davis. The first two seasons of the genre-defining mockumentary, as well as the Christmas special, are available to watch on HBO Max as part of the summertime programming pop-up. Watch 'The Office' on HBO Max now Seasons 1 and 2 of 'cozy crime' favorite 'Father Brown' will be available to HBO Max subscribers throughout August and September. Based on the character created by English author G.K. Chesterton (featured in 53 short stories published between 1910 and 1936), the period-piece series centers on the titular Roman Catholic priest slash amateur detective who uses his keen powers of observation and his sacred intuition to solve mysteries and crimes in 1950s-era England. Along with Mark Williams as the crime-busting clergyman Father Brown, the cast features Sorcha Cusack, Nancy Carroll, Alex Price, John Burton, Jackie Deam and more. New entertainment venue in West Sacramento set to open at former Safeway location
A brand-new entertainment venue in West Sacramento is set to open next week. The Boulevard will feature an arcade, bowling alley and restaurant. The 37,000 square foot venue is on West Capitol Avenue and will be in what used to be a Safeway that closed in 2018. "West Sacramento is growing, and we're super happy to be a part of everything that is happening for West Sacramento," said Tami Thompson, the director of marketing. The entertainment venue has something for families and the 21-and-up crowd. "We have a lot of immersive gaming, we have over 65 of the latest state-of-the-art arcade games," Thompson said. The venue offers spark bowling, a tech-twist on the classic game with light-up lanes that follow the ball as it moves towards the pins. There's also a restaurant and bar, laser tag and billiards. But it may be the 30 televisions and 17-foot "wow" wall that puts the new business on the watch list for sports fans with Major League Baseball a few blocks away. "You can come watch the A's game, come after the game, we're trying to be a regional attraction for the greater Sacramento area," Thompson said. Thompson said the location, just off Interstate 80 and near Sutter Health Park, sets the Boulevard apart from other area attractions. "Maybe visitors who aren't from West Sacramento can come up here and reach us in a reasonable amount of time," Thompson said. With dozens of new jobs created for the city, the final step, opening day, is a week from Friday. There's a VIP event on Wednesday. A paid ticket gets you in first and all the proceeds go to three local charities: Loaves and Fishes, Habitat for Humanity and the Yolo County Children's Alliance.

Tom Holland's new Spider-Man suit has been partially revealed ahead of Brand New Day, and the first look is giving us Sam Raimi vibes
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Spider-Man's new suit in Brand New Day has been teased in a new promo, and it appears Tom Holland's Spidey might have been taking some design tips from Tobey Maguire's webhead during the events of No Way Home... As you can see below, Sony has offered the briefest of glimpses at the new Spider-Man suit. While it's deliberately obscured and vague, there's plenty to get attached to, not least of all the shiny red colorway and the raised webbing, one that instantly calls to mind Sam Raimi's 2000s trilogy of Spider-Man films. Tom Holland will seemingly don that suit in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which stars Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Sadie Sink, and Jon Bernthal. It's not yet known, though, if he will keep the pitch-perfect costume that was shown during the No Way Home ending. The first look at the suit may have come from an official source but, on the more unofficial end of the spectrum, a recent series of set photos may have confirmed that Mister Negative will be prowling the streets of New York as Brand New Day's Big Bad. The villain made his name as the foil for Spidey in Insomniac's series of PlayStation titles. Spider-Man: Brand New Day hits cinemas on July 31, 2026 as part of Marvel Phase 6.
