If You Swooned Over Leo Woodall in ‘Bridget Jones,' Watch This Netflix Romance Next
With 'Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy,' which debuted Friday on Peacock 24 years after the original rom-com introduced us to Renée Zellweger's Oscar-nominated performance as the lovingly bumbling heroine, one thing remains as true as ever: men can't get enough of Bridget's unwitting charm.
Now in 'Bridget Jones 4,' Leo Woodall — previously a breakout heartthrob (and criminal) in 'The White Lotus' Season 2 — lays on the dimpled charm as Roxster, Bridget's younger, magnetic love interest, and competing suitor to Mr. Wallaker (Chiwetel Ejiofor), teacher of Bridget's children.
If you found yourself swooning for the 28-year-old London-born actor, we know just the project you should watch him in next. Premiering last year on Netflix, 'One Day' shows Woodall in a softer light than his bad boy 'White Lotus' rabble-rouser, but his sex appeal and leading man charm are still off the charts.
Here's everything you need to know about the acclaimed British drama from last year.
'One Day' is a romantic British limited series starring Leo Woodall and Ambika Mod as a pair of longtime friends-turned-lovers and everything in between. Each episode checks in on the pair on the same day each year over two decades, showing how they enter and exit and ultimately come to define one another's lives.
If Emma Morley and Dexter Mayhew hadn't met and spoken to each other for the first time on July 15, 1988, they would have gone their separate ways after graduation and lived their whole lives not knowing each other.
Adapted from David Nicholls' bestselling, decades-spanning novel, 'One Day' chronicles the interwoven lives of Ambika Mod's Emma and Leo Woodall's Dexter over 20 years and 14 episodes. According to the show's logline, 'Each episode finds Dex and Em, one year older, on this one particular date, as they grow and change, move together and apart, experience joy and heartbreak.'
The two oscillate between friends, lovers and everything in between.
'One Day' starring Leo Woodall and Ambika Mod debuted on Netflix one year ago, just in time for Valentine's Day 2024 on Feb. 8.
'One Day' is streaming now on Netflix.
Leo Woodall stars as Dexter and Ambika Mod stars as Emma. The limited series also features U.K. actors Amber Grappy, Brendan Quinn, Tim McInnerny, Jonny Weldon, Eleanor Tomlinson and Essie Davis in recurring roles.

'Weapons' star Amy Madigan recalls why she and Ed Harris didn't clap for Elia Kazan at 1999 Oscars: 'Nope'
The "On the Waterfront" director received an Honorary Oscar for his career, decades after he testified at the House Un-American Activities Committee in 1952. Key Points Weapons star Amy Madigan explained why she and husband Ed Harris didn't clap for Elia Kazan at 1999 Oscars. "There was no way we were going to do that," Madigan said in a new interview. Kazan, who directed On the Waterfront, testified at the House Un-American Activities Committee. Weapons actress Amy Madigan is currently courting Oscar buzz for her role as Aunt Gladys in the breakout horror hit, but she's also addressing an Academy Awards controversy she was present for nearly three decades ago. Following an introduction by Robert De Niro and Martin Scorsese at the 1999 Oscars, stars like Warren Beatty and Kathy Bates were shown standing to applaud On the Waterfront director Elia Kazan's acceptance of an Honorary Award from inside the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. However, a shot from the live broadcast showed Madigan and her husband, actor Ed Harris, looking stone-faced as they watched Kazan accept his statuette in the room. "Yeah, there was no way we were going to do that. No way," Madigan, 74, said during a recent interview with the New York Times, though the quote was not included in the final piece, and instead posted to social media by journalist Kyle Buchanan. Madigan touched on Kazan's House Un-American Activities Committee testimony in 1952 amid the blacklisting of Hollywood figures suspected of being communists during the Red Scare. "My father, who's not with us anymore, he was a political analyst and a journalist and he was working on Capitol Hill when McCarthyism was going on and it really, really affected him deeply," Madigan continued. "And yeah, that whole thing was really bringing it back to me. I was like, 'Nope.'" Entertainment Weekly has reached out to representatives for Madigan and Harris for additional comment. Kazan became a pariah in some Hollywood circles following his HUAC testimony, during which he named eight people who'd participated in Communist Party activities alongside him. In a 1997 interview with the Times, Kazan reflected on pushback he received over the years. "You want to know the truth? Not one bit," he said when asked if he was bothered by the anger against him nearly five decades after his HUAC testimony. "I've had so much praise in my life. Some of it deserved, some of it not deserved. What does it matter?'' Kazan continued, ''That whole time wasn't very nice. People were really hurt by what went on. I was part of it, I suppose. I spoke my mind and I had a right to do it.'' Though Kazan died in 2003 at 94, his Hollywood legacy lives on through his son, Matilda and Bicentennial Man writer Nicholas Kazan, and his actress granddaughters Maya (The Knick) and Zoe Kazan (Olive Kitteridge). In a recent interview with EW, Madigan additionally reflected on her Weapons success. Writer-director Zach Cregger's horror hit has earned $150 million at the global box office after only 10 days in release. "It's not that I discount it, but in this business, nothing's real till it's real," she said about the thought of returning for a sequel, comparing the buzz to chatter about her potential Oscar nod for the film. "I just had such a great time working with Zach and being inside that brain of his. That's really the gift of how the movie came out. The other stuff has to do with all sorts of conversations that I would never be privy in and business things like that. But, you know, I love Gladys, so I'll leave it at that." Weapons is now playing in theaters nationwide. Read the original article on Entertainment Weekly

Jennifer Tilly, 66, Poses for Nude 'Thirst Trap' Photo in Her Swimming Pool
The 'RHOBH' star posed for the revealing snap wearing nothing but red lipstick, sunglasses and a flower in her hair NEED TO KNOW Jennifer Tilly stripped down to nothing but red lipstick, sunglasses and a flower in her hair for an Instagram post on Monday, Aug. 18 "Thirst trap," she simply captioned the photo Tilly joined season 14 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills as a friend of the show last year Jennifer Tilly is baring all! The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, 66, stripped down to nothing but sunglasses and a flower in her hair for an Instagram post shared Monday, Aug. 18. Leaving little to the imagination, Tilly stood completely nude in a pool as she folded her arms and stared into the camera, completing her look with red lipstick. She received lots of love in the comments section from fellow Bravolebrities and fans. LaLa Kent applauded Tilly's post with a "👏" Emoji while Lisa Rinna wrote, "🔥🔥🔥." Actress Donna D'Errico commented, "On fire! 🔥," while another fan added, "Consider me trapped." The Chucky actress joined season 14 of RHOBH as a friend of the show last year. She revealed what it was really like to film for the series, confessing it wasn't as glamorous as she thought it would be. 'I remember I was like, 'I live in Beverly Hills, and it'd be kind of fun to see Beverly Hills through the lens of really rich people,' ' she told Vulture in an interview published in August 2024. 'I thought that I was going to see a lot of people shopping on Rodeo Drive, but a lot of the filming that they do is in the Valley, in places where it's easier to get permits. So it's not like you're at the fanciest places in Beverly Hills, arguing.' Still, she later added that there was no shortage of drama. 'You come in without a script. It's just sort of like they just wade in there, and they go at it,' the Academy Award winner continued. 'In real life, if you're at a restaurant and people at the table are screaming at each other, you're mortified like, 'Oh my God. I can't believe I'm with these uncouth people.' But when I am sitting at a table with Housewives, I feel like I have a front-row seat at the Super Bowl.' Tilly also noted that she has no regrets about her new gig. 'I appreciate what they do,' she said of Housewives. 'I'm just going to say it's really challenging. It's the craziest thing I've ever done, but I'm really happy I'm doing it, and I think it's such an interesting kind of sharp left turn for my career.' "I'm not a Housewife. I'm a Friend, though, which is a lot easier," she continued in part. "You just dip in and out. You try to avoid, like, flying shrapnel. And you know, if drinks are thrown, I have good reflexes." The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills can be streamed on Peacock. Read the original article on People
