‘Ballerina' 4K Blu-Ray Details Revealed—Including Multiple Steelbook Editions

Forbes4 days ago
While we wait for John Wick to make a now-confirmed and, given the events of Chapter 4, rather surprising comeback in a future film of his own, Lionsgate has been busy keeping Wick fans happy with royally entertaining spin-off, Ballerina. Fresh from a $132m cinematic run and featuring an impressive and athletic turn by Ana De Armas as an assassin trained in the ways of the Ruska Roma on a mission to avenge the death of her father, Ballerina is now confirmed as getting a 4K Blu-ray release on September 9 – complete with a variety of packaging options and a promising selection of bonus features.
The Steelbook edition of Ballerina set to be sold at Walmart in the U.S. and HMV in the U.K.
Looking first at the 4K Blu-ray's master of the film, its audio will be provided by what I anticipate will be a seriously pulsating Dolby Atmos mix (can't wait to hear the grenade sequence again!), while the 4K-resolution image will be available in a Dolby Vision HDR master. If your TV, projector or 4K Blu-ray player isn't equipped to handle Dolby Vision's extra scene by scene image data, the video stream will default down to the core HDR10 high dynamic range format.
Ballerina fans will be able to buy the film on 4K disc in either a standard 4K Blu-ray package (accompanied by the HD Blu-ray disc and a Digital streaming code) with an RRP of $42.99, or in one of a variety of Steelbook editions (again with included HD Blu-rays and digital codes). Amazon and WalMart are confirmed as receiving their own exclusive Steelbook versions, and I can confirm, too, that the version sold at Amazon in the U.S. will also be available in the U.K. at Amazon and Zavvi, while HMV in the U.K. will be exclusively getting the Steelbook version sold by WalMart.
The 'Ballerina' 4K Blu-ray Steelbook edition set to be available from Amazon in the U.K. and U.S., ... More as well as Zavvi in the U.K.
It appears that the extra features accompanying the film on 4K Blu-ray will be the same across all versions of the 4K release, rather than certain retailers getting specific unique features. And those extra features are as follows:

Trump confessed ear injury was ‘not too bad' at RNC despite wearing oversized bandage, Congressman says

Donald Trump allegedly confessed to GOP colleagues that his ear injury was 'not too bad' at the Republican National Convention, despite wearing his infamous oversized bandage. The then-presidential nominee told Byron Donalds that doctors had advised him to keep the bandage on, the Florida Congressman said, speaking at a GOP conference over the weekend. Trump arrived at the convention in July 2024 wearing the bandage, two days after surviving an attempted assassination while out campaigning in Butler, Pennsylvania, during which a bullet clipped his right ear. Many convention goers decided to mimic the look in solidarity, also sporting bandages of their own. However, Donalds recalled, Trump himself was unenthused about his medical head accessory when the pair met shortly after his convention speech. "I see the bandage, and the second thing [Trump says] is 'what do you think of the bandage?'" Donalds said. "I said, 'I don't like it. Take it off.' That's what I said. 'I don't like it. Take it off.' I said 'let everybody see the ear.'' "He was like, 'you know, it's not too bad. It's not too bad'..."Doc Ronny [Jackson] says, I gotta wear the bandage." 'I'm like 'so what? You're the president just take the thing off,' Donalds added. The president's bandage became the inspiration for many at the RNC, with one Arizona delegate Joe Neglia describing it at the time as 'the newest fashion trend.' 'Everybody in the world is going to be wearing these pretty soon,' Neglia told CBS, while sporting a piece of white tape over his own ear. 'When he came in [to the convention], and there was that eruption of love in the room, I thought, 'what can I do to honor the truth? What can I possibly do?'' 'And then I saw the bandage and I thought, I can do that. So, I put it on simply to honor Trump and to express sympathy with him and unity with him.' At a rally shortly after the convention, Trump appeared to have downgraded his ear bandage, instead sporting a skin-colored band-aid covering the top part of his right ear.

Hannah Spearritt and Louie Spence withdraw from Celebrity SAS in first episode

S Club 7 singer Hannah Spearritt and former TV dancer Louie Spence have withdrawn from Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins in the first episode of the latest series. The Channel 4 military reality show opened with the 14 celebrity recruits hooded and standing on a breakwater, before they were asked for their identities by chief instructor Billy Billingham – who told many of the celebrities 'don't grin at me'. He then led them on two tasks, the first to plunge 26ft into the water and swim to intercept a boat, which picked them up, and the second to rescue three hostages from a building before blowing it up with a grenade. Before the second challenge began, Spearritt, 44, handed over her number tag to directing staff, telling them 'I'm done, I'm sorry, I've reached a point' – and in a pre-recorded interview which was played after her withdrawal, she said 'I don't think I'll go on the first day' adding she 'wouldn't forgive myself'. During the task, Spence, who is best known for Sky TV show Pineapple Dance Studios, threw a grenade into the building while it still had two hostages in it, and afterwards told the directing staff he wished to withdraw, and was given a second chance to put his armband back on, but turned it down. Spence said: 'I want to do an immediate withdrawal, I just don't have the conviction, and I feel as though I'm not dedicated enough.' He was told that he 'hadn't even started', but Spence replied 'that's what I mean'. After the first task, former model Rebecca Loos was pulled in by directing staff after she gave up during the swimming challenge, who asked her to open up on her alleged affair with footballer Sir David Beckham, who she worked for as a personal assistant, during the interrogation. In an interview before the first task, former Drag Race UK star Bimini Bon Boulash said the show would be 'a piece of piss' after growing up as a queer person in Norfolk. After the second task, former Watford striker Troy Deeney, who also threw a grenade into the building before clearing the hostages, was pulled in by the instructors, where he opened up on physical abuse he and his mother received from his late father. The show sees celebrities enter SAS training, where they are not eliminated and are instead culled by the directing staff or able to withdraw themselves, with those who remain at the end declared the winners. The rest of the celebrity recruits are made up of ex-drug mule Michaella McCollum, former footballer Adebayo Akinfenwa, Strictly Come Dancing 2025 runner-up Tasha Ghouri, former The Traitors winner Harry Clark, rapper Lady Leshurr, boxer Conor Benn, singer Lucy Spraggan, and ex-Love Island contestants Chloe Burrows and Adam Collard. Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins continues on Channel 4 on Monday at 9pm.

Matt Rife Is Now The Caretaker Of The "Annabelle" Doll, And People Are Rightfully Concerned

Annabelle has a new babysitter! Comedian Matt Rife just announced that he and YouTuber Elton Castee purchased the home of Ed and Lorraine Warren. According to his video, Matt said he is now "the legal guardian for at least the next 5 years" of the Warrens' "haunted collection," which includes the seemingly haunted Annabelle doll. Related: Ed and Lorraine were paranormal investigators depicted in the Conjuring franchise by actors Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga. The pair founded the Warren Occult Museum where they housed the allegedly haunted artifacts from their investigations. "We do not legally own the items, but we are the legal guardians and caretakers of the items," Matt said, adding that fans will have a chance to "book a night or weekend" in the Warrens' former home, as an Airbnb. Why on earth anybody in their right mind would want to do that is beyond me. "If you know me, you know I'm obsessed with the paranormal and all things haunted. You also may know The Conjuring films are my favorite scary movies of all time. So I'm incredibly honored to have taken over one of the most prominent properties in paranormal history," Matt wrote in a caption alongside several Instagram photos of Ed and Lorraine. "Ed and Lorain[sic] Warren arguably put demonology and paranormal into the mainstream and are the very heart of some of the most famous haunted stories of all time, The Conjuring House, Amityville Horror, et…" Annabelle, which was actually a Raggedy Ann doll, was allegedly moving on its own, according to a student nurse in the '70s. The dramatization with Patrick and Vera led to sequels and other movies about the Warrens and their haunted artifacts. Related: In addition to the overnight stays, Matt and Elton plan to open the house for museum tours to learn of the "haunted history" surrounding the area. According to Tony Spera, the son-in-law of Warrens' said that he and his wife still own the doll and the Warrens' other alleged haunted artifacts but are leasing them to Matt and Elton. While the quirky comedian is obviously stoked to take on this project, his fans are rightfully creeped out given the history of the horrors within that house. One person wrote, "DONT TOUCH ANYTHING!! PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DONT TOUCH ANYTHING!!" "RIP buddy. It's been nice knowing ya," another person wrote. Related: "If you disappear randomly we know why," someone else said. Of course, people couldn't help but find the humor in all this. Somebody said, "Would be very funny if he was very clearly actually possessed during his next special. Doing crowd work like 'Does anyone else here love being an evil doll?'" Republican personality Kimberly Klacik randomly said, "He's too hot to risk his life like this. These are ugly people activities." If you've seen Longlegs than you'll get this joke: Related: Other folks expressed concern that this might not be good for the Warrens' legacy and criticized Matt and Elton's involvement. "This makes me so sad for the doll like no way does she want this," one person wrote. Another person said, "Please honor them and don't turn everthign they've built into a joke." "I hope that people who book stays are respectful to the space." And finally, on a good note, someone said, "Congrats on the purchase. I know you guys are gonna resepct all the items that are in there." What are your thoughts about Matt Rife becoming the caretaker of Annabelle and the house of creepy artifacts?
