Prolific thief who tried mugging Bridgerton star jailed for 22 months
The prolific thief who was filmed trying to snatch Bridgerton actress Genevieve Chenneour's phone has been jailed for 22 months.
Zacariah Boulares, 18, snuck up behind the 27-year-old actor and grabbed her iPhone in the Joe & the Juice on Kensington High Street, west London, in February.
The 27-year-old bravely defended herself, spinning around to grab the thief's arm while her boyfriend at the time came to her aid.
Boulares put his middle finger up to members of the public gallery and was scolded by the judge before guards took him out of Isleworth Crown Court yesterday (June 1), the MailOnline reported.
Boulares was prosecuted for both the attempted robbery of Chenneour, who plays Clara Livingston in the hit Netflix period drama, as well as for stealing a handbag at a Pizza Pilgrims in London's West End on January 30.

Boulares sat stern-faced with a long ponytail in the dock, with his arms crossed as he wore a grey prison tracksuit on.
He was sentenced concurrently to five months for the Pizza Pilgrims theft, seven months for the Joe and the Juice theft, four months for the common assault of Chenneour's boyfriend at the time, Carlo Kureishi, and six months for the Five Guys theft.
Boulares put his middle finger up after the judge ordered him to be taken to the cells, prompting the judge to say that 'confirms his lack of remorse'.
The thief's extensive criminal history – 12 previous convictions relating to 28 offences – was laid bare. Judge Martin Edmunds KC described Boulares during sentencing as engaging in a 'systematic pattern of stealing from people'.

Building The Band: What We Know About The Netflix Show Starring The Late Singer Liam Payne
A new Netflix show Building The Band will star the late Liam Payne, who was a guest judge on the show. One Direction star Liam tragically died in October last year age 31, when he fell from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires. At the time, Liam's family issued a statement following his death which read: 'We are heartbroken. Liam will forever live in our hearts and we'll remember him for his kind, funny and brave soul. We are supporting each other the best we can as a family and ask for privacy and space at this awful time.' Before he died, he filmed the competition series Building The Band, which has been dubbed a 'music experiment.' The show follows 50 singers who want to start a a band - but there's a twist. The contestants go in blind, and will discover their ideal bandmates based on what they sound like, their compatibility and their connection. However, not everyone will make the cut. The 50 contestants will be whittled down to six bands, and then one winner. As the Netflix synopsis teases, the show promises 'Plenty of drama, next level artistry and unforgettable performances.' Think of it as a mixture between Love Is Blind and The Voice. The filming for Building the Band took place in 2024, with filming wrapping in August. The three live shows were also filmed in late August at Aviva Studios in Manchester. The show's executive producer Cat Lawson said ahead of filming last year: 'Building the Band is a brave and bold undertaking for all involved as we hand over power to the singers themselves to form their own band based on chemistry first. With looks out of the equation, can they create a deeper connection with their bandmates? With limited bands, there are difficult decisions and heart-stopping moments along the way, but ultimately the outcome is truly amazing, with bands forming who in my opinion are worthy of the very biggest stage!' Liam Payne's involvement in the show was first announced last August, just two months before he died. The show has a total of ten episodes, and Liam will only appear from episode seven onwards. He is joined on the judging panel by Pussycat Dolls' Nicole Scherzinger and Destiny's Child star Kelly Rowland. The show is hosted by the Backstreet Boys' AJ McLean will host. Netflix said in a press release this week that Liam's family had given their blessings for the show to go ahead. They said his family had 'reviewed the series and [was] supportive of his inclusion.' Before the show starts, the show's host AJ will share an emotional tribute to Liam on screen. 'When we came together to film Building The Band, we never imagined we'd soon be saying goodbye to our friend, Liam Payne. Liam is a guest judge in later episodes and through his presence we see his deep love for music and his unwavering commitment to helping others find their voice,' he says. 'It is through that spirit that we dedicate this series to Liam and his family.' Tributes have also been flooding in online for Liam ahead of the show's launch. When Netflix shared the trailer on X, a fan commented: 'I'm glad it's still being released,' adding 'This way we can still see Liam's genuine love for music and helping people.' Another fan commented: 'Heartbreaking to see Liam Payne in this posted. It's going to be his final project forever. I'm going to be crying my eyes out watching this show.' The first four episodes will air on 9 July. Then, fans will have to wait a week or so for episodes 5, 6 and 7, which drop on July 16, 2025, followed by the final three episodes on July 23, 2025. Netflix quietly rolls out free upgrade for millions of users – and it cuts down on dreaded buffering
Looking for other tips to boost your TV's picture quality? Scroll down NOT-FLIX Netflix quietly rolls out free upgrade for millions of users – and it cuts down on dreaded buffering Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) NETFLIX has quietly made some big improvements to the platform that will boost the picture quality - and reduce annoying buffering in the process. Errors and re-buffering are sadly commonplace when trying to watch movies and TV via any streaming app. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 1 The upgrade was quietly implemented in March Credit: Alamy But Netflix says it has worked out a way to reduce re-buffering by 10 per cent. And even if you are unlucky enough to be hit by re-buffering it should drag on a little less, with a 5 per cent cut to the duration. The firm has also managed to make start play faster, as well as decrease playback errors by 3 per cent. It's all thanks to some visual improvements going on behind the scenes at Netflix. The biggest part of all this is maintaining that film grain effect you'll be familiar with from cinemas. "Camera sensor noise introduces its own characteristics, while filmmakers often add intentional grain during post-production to evoke mood or a vintage feel," Netflix explained in a blog post. However, this can be tricky to maintain when compressing big videos down so they stream faster. Netflix says the feature has been rolling out since March - and you don't need to do anything to benefit from it. It's not clear which titles have been converted in this way. However, the blog post did show examples of how it had been achieved in They Cloned Tyrone, starring John Boyega, Teyonah Parris, and Jamie Foxx. Netflix reveal huge list of movies and TV shows being axed next month – with some children's favourites in the mix

With Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations under its belt, Past Lives took audiences by storm in 2023, being named one of the best films of the year by the American Film Institute. The drama follows Nora and Hae Sung, two childhood friends who are torn apart when Nora's family moves from South Korea to Canada, and the pair lose contact. Decades later, they are reunited and question what their relationship could have been had Nora never moved from Korea. The critics' consensus reads: A remarkable debut for writer-director Celine Song, Past Lives uses the bonds between its sensitively sketched central characters to support trenchant observations on the human condition. The eagerly-anticipated sequel joins Bridget (Renée Zellweger) in a very different place in her life, matured into a mother but unexpectedly alone again after the tragic offscreen death of husband Mark Darcy (Colin Firth). Dating again, she finds herself torn between younger man Roxster (Leo Woodall), and her son's science teacher, Scott (Chiwetel Ejiofor). The critics' consensus reads: A bittersweet romp about new beginnings with another sparkling turn by Renée Zellweger, Mad About the Boy gracefully closes the book on Bridget Jones' diary. The critics' consensus reads: Defying gravity with its magical pairing of Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, Wicked's sheer bravura and charm make for an irresistible invitation to Oz. 8 Mile The 40-Year-Old Virgin 127 Hours 300 Ali G In Da House Airplane Annabelle Apocalypse Now Aquaman As Above So Below The Big Lebowski Blended Blow Boiling Point The Black Phone Bruce Almighty A Complete Unknown The Descent Donnie Darko Evil Dead Rise Heat Home Alone Insidious It Feeds Lights Out Lolita Marching Power The Mummy Pans Labyrinth The Pianist Quadrophenia Road House Scary Movie Scott Pilgrim vs. The World Scream The Simpsons Movie Slumdog Millionaire Taken Tenacious D: The Pick of Destiny They Live Tombstone Twilight The Virgin Suicides The Visit War Horse The VVitch The Woman in Black View the full list of films on offer here The Crow, the final film of the late Brandon Lee, is a cult classic that inspired three sequels, a television series, and a trashed 2024 reboot. The night before their wedding, Eric Draven (Lee) and his fiancée Shelly Webster (Sofia Shinas) are brutally murdered by members of a violent gang. On the anniversary of their death, Draven rises from the dead to avenge Shelly's death by tracking them down and making the gangsters pay for their crimes. The critics' consensus reads: Filled with style and dark, lurid energy, The Crow is an action-packed visual feast that also has a soul in the performance of the late Brandon Lee. If you're a fan of Timothee Chalamet from the likes of Wonka or A Complete Unknown, you'll never look at him the same way after watching Bones and All. Maren (Taylor Russell) learns from a tape left by her estranged father that she is a cannibal, with her parent detailing her cannibalistic urges from a young age in the video and explaining he hopes she can overcome them. While trying to track him down, Maren meets Lee (Chalamet), a fellow 'eater' who guides her to learn more about herself, with love blossoming between the two. The critics' consensus reads: Although its subject matter may be hard to stomach, Bones and All proves a deeply romantic and thought-provoking treat. Martin Scorsese's epic crime drama Casino nabbed a Golden Globe for its lead actress, Sharon Stone, as well as an Academy Award nod. Adapted from Nicholas Pileggi's book of the same name, Casino follows low-level mobster Sam 'Ace' Rothstein (Robert De Niro), who is sent by his bosses to run to Tangiers Casino in Las Vegas. The film follows Ace across the years as he deals with his loose-cannon enforcer Nicky Santoro (Joe Pesci), his ex-hustler wife Ginger (Stone), and corrupt politicians who threaten the entire outfit's safety. The critics' consensus reads: Impressive ambition and bravura performances from an outstanding cast help Casino pay off in spite of a familiar narrative that may strike some viewers as a safe bet for director Martin Scorsese. Luc Besson began writing The Fifth Element when he was just 16 years old, and when he was 38, it finally hit cinema screens. More Trending In the distant future, Earth is about to be destroyed by an enormous fireball heading towards the planet. There is one man who knows how to stop it – Cornelius (Ian Holm) – and he enlists the help of taxi driver and former secret agent Korben Dallas (Bruce Willis) and mysterious woman Leeloo (Milla Jovovich) to help. The critics' consensus reads: Visually inventive and gleefully over the top, Luc Besson's The Fifth Element is a fantastic piece of pop sci-fi that never takes itself too seriously.
