‘Son of Sardaar 2' trailer: Ajay Devgn returns in comedy sequel set in Scotland
The trailer opens with the question, 'Will he survive Scotland?' and follows Devgn's character as he navigates unfamiliar surroundings and a series of comic situations. The story introduces several characters tied to a wedding, with humour built around cultural contrasts and exaggerated misunderstandings.
The film features Mrunal Thakur opposite Devgn. Other cast members include Ravi Kishan, Mukul Dev, Sanjay Mishra, Vindu Dara Singh, Dolly Ahluwalia, and Neeru Bajwa. Mukul Dev, who passed away in May 2024, appears here in his final film role.
Son of Sardaar, released in 2012, earned approximately ₹100 crore at the box office. It released alongside Jab Tak Hai Jaan, the final film by Yash Chopra, and the simultaneous release led to a dispute over screen distribution. Ajay Devgn filed a complaint with the Competition Commission of India against Yash Raj Films at the time.
Speaking about the issue in a recent interview with The Lallantop, actor Kajol, who is married to Devgn, said she felt 'helpless' during the disagreement. She noted that both sides were defending their positions and that time was needed to allow tensions to settle.
Director Vijay Kumar Arora is known for Punjabi-language films including Godday Godday Chaa and Kali Jotta. Son of Sardaar 2 marks his return to Hindi cinema.

Got threat call in Punjabi after attack, says singer and rapper Fazilpuria
Gurgaon: Seven days after a bullet was allegedly fired at the car of singer and rapper (Fazilpuria) in Sector 71 on Southern Peripheral Road (SPR), he revealed he had received a threatening phone call in Punjabi "on the same evening". Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Speaking to the media on Monday, Fazilpuria dismissed theories he had orchestrated the attack to have his security reinstated. The singer also dismissed an alleged claim of a loan amounting to Rs 5 crore — mentioned in a post by a gangster after the attack — and questioned its authenticity. Sharing details of the incident, the singer said he had left his office in Fazilpur for his home when a car approached from the rear. "Two men sitting behind were looking at me. I mistook them as fans. The men in that car intercepted my vehicle, following which I stopped near a divider. Two men stepped outside the car and I still thought that those were my fans and wanted to meet me. I was shocked to see one of them holding a weapon, following which I reversed my car and escaped while they fired at me," Fazilpuria said, adding he was alone on July 14 while heading home. Regarding threats, the singer said after he protested against the gangsters responsible for the killing of Punjabi singer , he received multiple threats and subsequently received security from the Haryana police. "My security was withdrawn 20 days prior to the attack on me. After the security was withdrawn, I requested the Gurgaon commissioner for a review. He said my plea was under consideration. After the attack on me, I was even under police scanner as there was a theory that I might have staged it, which is not the case at all. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now I received a threat call in Punjabi and some other gang took responsibility on the same evening. I want the police to do a detailed investigation and nab the accused," the singer added. Following the attack, a viral message emerged in which Sunil Sardhania, an alleged member of the Himanshu Bhau gang, took responsibility for the shooting. The message said the firing was intended to warn the singer to repay Rs 5 crore to one Deepak Nandal within a month to avoid severe consequences. However, Fazilpuria, on Monday, denied the allegations of any such loan or investment, saying that he "never took any loan from Nandal, who was his old friend", and that all music labels had invested in his career. Two days after the attack, a suspect, identified as Vishal —25 year old— of Sonipat, was arrested from his village Jajal. Police are yet to arrest a co-accused.

'We will take...', The makers of Ajay Devgn's upcoming film Drishyam 3 lands in trouble due to...
Ajay Devgn's 'Drishyam' has become one of Bollywood's most talked-about suspense-thriller franchises, with both previous parts achieving major box office success. Fans are now eagerly awaiting the third installment. Meanwhile, the original Malayalam version, directed by Jeethu Joseph, is also in the works. Though filming has not yet begun, the director recently cleared the air regarding rumors that the Hindi version will start shooting first. What did Jeethu Joseph say? In a recent conversation with Mathrubhumi, Jeethu Joseph confirmed that the Malayalam version holds priority since it's the original story. He revealed that there was a proposal to shoot both the Hindi and Malayalam versions simultaneously, but no final decision has been made. Initially, the Hindi makers had planned to begin their shoot earlier, but that idea was dropped after a legal warning was hinted at. Joseph emphasized that the story belongs to the Malayalam team and any breach could lead to legal consequences. When the filming of Drishyam 3 commence? Jeethu Joseph further stated that he is currently focused on completing the screenplay. The Malayalam version of 'Drishyam 3' is set to begin filming in October 2025 and only after that will work on the Hindi version resume. Speaking at an event, Joseph said, 'I finished writing the climax just last night. It's been weighing on me for a long time, but I'm glad to have wrapped it up.' About the 'Drishyam' Universe The franchise began in 2013 with the Malayalam film 'Drishyam' starring Mohanlal. It tells the intense story of a simple man named Georgekutty, whose life turns upside down after a police officer's son goes missing. The gripping narrative and emotional depth of the film earned it massive praise and led to remakes in several languages: Kannada (2014) with V. Ravichandran, Telugu with Venkatesh Daggubati, Tamil (2015) with Kamal Haasan, and the Hindi version with Ajay Devgn, which added its own unique flavor to the storyline. Now, as both Malayalam and Hindi fans await the next chapter, it's clear that the third part will again aim to keep audiences guessing till the very end.
