The latest hike comes after Netflix posted stronger-than-expected results for the second quarter, with profit jumping 45% year-on-year to $3.1 billion. Revenue for the three months ending June 30 rose 16% to $11.1 billion, surpassing both analyst forecasts and the company's own guidance. The streaming giant credited higher subscription prices and a rapidly growing advertising business for the gains.
The company raised its 2025 revenue outlook to between $44.8 billion and $45.2 billion, up from $43.5–$44.5 billion. Content also played a key role in the quarter's success. The third season of

The company had more than 300 million subscribers as of December last year, adding 19 million in the holiday quarter alone. However, it no longer reports subscriber counts, focusing instead on engagement metrics like viewing time.
Netflix expects ad revenue to nearly double in 2025 and is targeting $9 billion annually from ad-based subscriptions by 2030.
