Lana Del Rey reveals she kissed huge US singer in new song as she announces big career change
Pop star Lana Del Rey has revealed some eyebrow raising lyrics from her new album as she admitted to kissing a huge singer while revealing her highly anticipated career change
Lana Del Rey has taken a surprise career change as she sang one of her songs for the very last time. The singer, whose real name is Elizabeth Woolridge Grant, is gearing up for the release of her highly anticipated album.
Her forthcoming album The Right Person Will Stay, follows on from Did You Know That There's a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd. The new album is currently scheduled for release next month and will see Lana take a huge turn in her career. She has decided to release a country album in contrast to her previous tracks that have often been labelled as indie pop and alternative, with strong influences from dream pop, baroque pop, and rock.
Lana, who is heading on a UK tour later this year, gave a taste of what to expect while performing at Stagecoach Festival in California this weekend. She performed her new song Husband of Mine as well as 57.5 Million.
The latter track references the number of listeners she has on Spotify and before performing the song she asked fans to listen closely to the lyrics. She surprisingly sang about kissing country star Morgan Wallen in the track before revealing it would be the last time she'd ever sing it.
Lana, who married alligator tour guide Jeremy Dufrene in September last year, said on stage: 'I kissed Morgan Wallen. I guess kissing me kind of went to his head. If you want my secret to success, I suggest don't go ATV-ing with him when you're out West.'
Before debuting the lyric, she quipped: "This is the last time I'm ever gonna say this line."
Lana revealed her 10th studio album back in November, hinting at new tunes on Instagram. She wrote at the time: "Happy for you to hear a few songs coming up before Stagecoach."
She had hinted at the country vibe of her upcoming album, initially set to be named Lasso, earlier this year. Speaking at a Billboard pre-Grammy event, Lana shared insights into the album's direction as she said: "If you can't already tell by our award winners and our performers, the music business is going country...
"We're going country. It's happening. That's why Jack has followed me to Muscle Shoals, Nashville, Mississippi, over the last four years."
In a Vogue interview last summer, she further defined her album's concept, commenting: "All my albums are somewhat rooted in Americana... so I don't think it will be a heavy departure."
She added: "If anything, it will just be a little lighter lyrically, and more pointed in a classic country, American, or Southern Gothic production - which again, so many of my songs already are."

Alex Warren's Ordinary becomes longest-running UK number one this decade
US singer Alex Warren's smash hit Ordinary has notched up its 12th week at number one in the UK - the longest chart reign since Ed Sheeran's Shape of You in which the 24-year-old wrote for his wife after their wedding last year, has been streamed 107 million times in the UK, according to the Official Charts has broken the 70-year-old record for the most consecutive weeks at number one by a US artist - surpassing Slim Whitman's Rose Marie, which spent 11 weeks at the top in shows no sign of going away - it remains by far the biggest song on Spotify in the UK, with 33% more streams than its nearest rival in the service's latest daily rankings. But it has some way to go before it catches the longest-running number ones of all number ones in history:Frankie Laine, I Believe - 18 weeks, 1953Bryan Adams, (Everything I Do) I Do It For You - 16 weeks, 1991Wet Wet Wet, Love Is All Around - 15 weeks, 1994Drake ft Wizkid & Kyla, One Dance - 15 weeks, 2016Queen, Bohemian Rhapsody - 14 weeks, 1975/6 & 1991/2Ed Sheeran, Shape of You -14 weeks, 2017Alex Warren, Ordinary - 12 weeks, 2025 Warren found fame as one of the founders of the Hype House, a TikTok collective who lived together in Los Angeles and entertained millions of teenagers during the first reached the top 10 with Carry You Home last year, then his career as heartfelt folk-pop singer-songwriter exploded with Ordinary, which is currently also number one in the US."It has been enormous," said James Masterton, who writes the Chart Watch UK blog. "It's a crossover hit single in a good old-fashioned sense, and in a way we haven't seen for quite some considerable time."It's the kind of record that sat comfortably on the playlists of both Radio 1 and Radio 2, but ironically it's dropped off both of those now and they've both moved on to playing his new single. But that's an example of how it has genuine pan-generational appeal."Ordinary has also become a popular wedding song, and Warren's label has even released a Wedding Version."In that sense it's got much in common with some of the other famous long-running tracks of the past, such as (Everything I Do) I Do It For You, Love Is All Around and I Will Always Love You. They are all very deeply felt romantic songs." But despite being such a mammoth hit, changing media and music habits mean Ordinary hasn't become a universal phenomenon of the kind Bryan Adams and Wet Wet Wet had when they were appearing on BBC TV chart show Top of the Pops week after week."The fragmentation of the media means the ability for records to grab the attention of large groups of people has diminished rapidly," Masterton said."In times gone by when a record was number one for as long as 12 weeks, everybody would know who the superstar was." Longest-running number ones of the 2020s:Alex Warren, Ordinary – 12 weeks, 2025Ed Sheeran, Bad Habits – 11 weeks, 2021Harry Styles, As It Was – 10 weeks, 2022Miley Cyrus, Flowers – 10 weeks, 2023Dave & Central Cee, Sprinter – 10 weeks, 2023 Ordinary is also the longest-running number one since chart rules were changed in 2017 to stop the top 40 getting clogged up by songs that have passed their peak of chart formula automatically demotes songs that have had three consecutive weeks of declining streaming figures, when compared with the rest of the market. But Ordinary has held sufficiently steady to avoid that fate so far.

Yolanda Hadid has reportedly called time on her six year relationship with Joseph Jingoli after previously gushing over him and revealing they secretly got engaged in 2022 Gigi and Bella Hadid's mum has called off her engagement from long-term partner Joseph Jingoli. Yolanda Hadid, 61, and her now ex-fiance had been engaged for six years before deciding to end things. The decision comes after it was revealed her ex-husband, Mohamed Hadid, had secret fathered another daughter. It was revealed the supermodel siblings also had a 23-year-old half-sister and had been getting to know her over the last two years. The secret child, called Aydan, had been socialising with the family. Sisters Gigi, 30, and Bella, 28, went on to call her a "cherished," "unexpected" and "beautiful addition to our family". Gigi and Bella's parents, Yolanda and Mohamed had been married between 1994 and 2000. As well as their daughters, they also welcomed son Anwar, 25. Following their relationship, Yolanda tied the knot again in 2011. She married music producer David Foster, but their time was also cut short, with the pair going the separate ways in 2017. Despite he latest relationship ending, she is said to have remained friends with Joseph. An insider told People the duo "remain friends and have nothing but fond memories of their time together". In 2020, she had gushed over the thought of tying the knot again. In a social media post marking their anniversary, she said at the time: "'All my life I prayed for someone like you!!" She went on: "Thank you for being such a bright light in my life, the calm in my storm and for being the most honorable man that I 2 year anniversary Joey Jingoli, I love and appreciate you." Last summer, Yalonda - who has appeared on shows such as The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills - confessed Joseph popped the question to her in 2022. After keeping the proposal under wraps, she finally admitted Joseph asked for her hand in marriage during a loved-up trip to Holland. The pair had met in 2017 when Yolanda moved to Pennsylvania. The proposal was let slip during an unexpected interview with Architectural Digest who referred to her now ex as her long-term "fiancé". She often featured her daughters Bella and Gigi in episodes of the Real Housewives and in an interview with Vogue, Bella revealed that she felt pressured to alter her appearance due to the early onset of fame and living in her sister's shadow. Bella, who transitioned from reality TV to modelling, confessed that she had a nose job when she was just 14 and now regrets the decision. The revelation led fans to criticised Yolanda, accusing her of failing as a parent.
