Their lightning ascent came just five days after they'd left London. They even survived an avalanche.
Most expeditions take 70 days to let climbers acclimatise to the thin air at 8,850m (29,035ft).
But the group slept in low-oxygen tents to prepare their bodies for the conditions.
And they inhaled controversial xenon gas, which helps the body produce red blood cells to avoid deadly altitude sickness.
A photo from the summit showed Aberdeen-born Carns with a Union flag he'd carried on all his military tours, including to Afghanistan.
He said the climb was 'off the scale of a challenge', adding: 'Now we've done the biggest, I am never doing another mountain again.'
The Veterans Minister was with ex-comrades Garth Miller, 51, Kevin Godlington, 49, and Anthony Stazicker, 41, They were accompanied by cameraman Sandro Gromen-Hayes and five Nepalese Sherpas.
Expedition leader Lukas Furtenbach, 47, who spoke to The Sun from Everest Base Camp, told how the team had a narrow escape on the first full day of their climb.
He said: 'An avalanche came down on them from Nuptse, a 7,800m peak.
"They were covered in white powder but not buried. It was a shocking moment for them.'
I climbed Mt Everest with no experience & 3 weeks training
He revealed the final ascent had been 'tough' due to 35mph gusts.
Furtenbach said: 'Conditions were windy, so it was a hard day for them. It was right on the edge.
'They spent about half an hour on the summit then came down to Camp 4 at 8,000m. They are doing great and are in high spirits.'
Their feat is a record Everest ascent without acclimatising in the Himalayas beforehand.
The group are hoping to raise more than £1million for veterans' charities.
Carns is Labour MP for Birmingham Selly Oak.
He said he was an 'average schoolkid from Aberdeen' before he joined the Royal Marines at 19

New research from Isuzu UK has uncovered the nation's most awe-inspiring, breathtaking and peaceful driving routes. Coming in a very close second place in the whole of the UK is the gorgeous Loch Lomond to Glencoe route. The scenic route takes in the stunning Argyll Forest Park, Loch Tulla, and Loch Ba. And it's also a haven for nature-lovers with herds of wild deer and birds of prey regularly spotted on the journey. The jaw-dropping trip was only just pipped to the post by the Kendal to Keswick drive. Following the A591, and stretching for 30 miles, it takes in some exceptional scenery, including views of Lakeland fells and the banks of Windermere. The historic Coastal Way in Wales came in third place, followed by the winding road through Cheddar Gorge then the journey around the New Forest. This is an island-hopping adventure which takes in 10 isles, six causeways and two ferries from Vatersay to the Butt of Lewis. Rounding off the top 20 is the Glen Etive to Steall Falls route. This short hour-long trip ends at a stunning waterfall. The research founds that on average Brits take seven road trips a year covering 93 miles per trip. Man Utd warned Benjamin Sesko is 'similar' to Liverpool flop

Manchester United have been warned that £74m signing Benjamin Sesko is 'pretty similar' to Liverpool's 'biggest ever transfer mistake'. Sesko completed a £74m move to Old Trafford earlier in the month after rejecting interest from fellow Premier League club Newcastle United. The Slovenia international attracted interest from a number of elite clubs after two impressive seasons at RB Leipzig, where he scored 39 goals in 87 appearances. Sesko made his Premier League debut against Arsenal on Sunday, coming on as a second-half substitute in Manchester United's 1-0 defeat. The 22-year-old was signed to help solve United's goalscoring problems and replace Rasmus Hojlund, who has endured a dismal spell in Manchester since his £72m move from Atalanta. But ex-Germany midfielder Dietmar Hamann has warned the Red Devils that Sesko is 'pretty similar' to Liverpool flop Darwin Nunez. Nunez completed a big-money move to Anfield in 2022 but was sold earlier this summer following a largely disappointing spell on Merseyside. 'I'm not sure if Manchester United fans want to hear it, but I think Benjamin Sesko is a pretty similar player to Darwin Nunez,' Hamann told CasinoHawks. 'I think Sesko has got the body, he's got the height, he's got the pace. I think he's got a better touch than Nunez. 'He's technically a very gifted player, but he's a powerful young lad. Nunez is probably the one I would compare him with in recent years. 'I'd say his finishing is probably a bit better than Nunez, but he's got to prove it. He did it at times at Leipzig, but he's really in the spotlight now at Manchester United. 'Obviously, we've also seen that some big names went to Manchester United in the last 10 years as centre-forwards and they didn't succeed. It won't be an easy task, but I think he's capable of doing it.' The comparison with Nunez comes after Hamann said the ex-Liverpool forward could be the 'biggest transfer mistake' the club have ever made. Nunez signed a six-year contract at Anfield after completing a then club-record transfer worth £85m, but the 26-year-old was sold earlier this month to Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal. More Trending 'Is Darwin Nunez the biggest transfer mistake in Liverpool's history? Maybe, it's just part of the game,' Hamann told Betting Lounge. 'When you bring players in, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. 'People probably thought, myself included, if you bring somebody in for £85m, it guarantees you goals, but looking back it wasn't money well spent.' Sesko could make his first Premier League start for Manchester United on Sunday when the Red Devils travel to Craven Cottage to face Fulham. For more stories like this, check our sport page. Cristiano Ronaldo showed true colours with message to La Liga rival during furious row

Cristiano Ronaldo enjoyed huge success with Spanish giants Real Madrid but one furious incident has left a poor impression on one of his former La Liga opponents Former La Liga star Walter Pandiani has accused Cristiano Ronaldo of arrogance as he recounted a memorable flashpoint with the Portuguese superstar. Ronaldo enjoyed plenty of success with Spanish giants Real Madrid scoring a staggering 450 goals in 438 games. ‌ But there were a number of controversial flashpoints during his spell with Los Blancos - one of which has been recounted by ex-Osasuna forward Pandiani. The pair clashed during the 2010/11 season, almost coming to blows mid-match. ‌ And while Ronaldo was the main instigator - a jibe about his opponent's wage a particular sore point - Pandiani has also revealed that both Sergio Ramos and then manager Jose Mourinho also got involved. ‌ Speaking to Spanish newspaper AS, he said: 'The crowd there is very aggressive, and they were whistling and insulting him from the moment he came out to warm up. 'That p****d him off, and he was practicing free kicks, shooting at people. That's why he started the match so heated. 'During a game against Real Madrid, Cristiano pushed my teammate [Javier] Camunas, and I went to defend him. I pushed him, and he asked me who I was and how much I was paid. 'The brawl continued in the changing room tunnel with him and Sergio Ramos. I was very angry, and so were they. I didn't like his attitude at all. He was an arrogant guy. He was tremendous as a goalscorer, but his behaviour left a lot to be desired. 'Then [Jose] Mourinho came out and said I was looking for free publicity after playing in the First Division for eleven years. It was very unpleasant.' ‌ Real Madrid eventually lost 1-0 that day - a defeat that hugely damaged their title prospects. Los Blancos eventually finished four points adrift of rivals Barcelona come the end of the season. Ronaldo would eventually get his hands on the La Liga crown the following season but only won one further league title during his time at the Santiago Bernabeu. Ronaldo eventually quit the club in 2018 with a shock move to Juventus, while he then returned to Manchester United three seasons later. ‌ His second spell at Old Trafford was mixed as despite netting 24 times across his first campaign, he was axed by Erik ten Hag the following year. Ronaldo's contract was eventually cancelled following an explosive interview with Piers Morgan. He has been with Saudi side Al-Nassr ever since, reaching the 800 mark for club goals at the back end of last season.
