Horrifying video: Father brutally beats his child in Egypt
Many Egyptian netizens took to platforms such as X (formerly known as Twitter) to condemn the act and once again voice their concerns about the rise of domestic violence cases in Egypt over the years.
The child was heard crying for help and begging his father to stop. However, the father kept on brutally assaulting him, despite many attempts at begging. A neighbor was heard urging the individual who captured the video to share the incident on social media so that the father would suffer the consequences of his actions.

Later, the video was monitored by the relevant authorities, prompting an investigation into the issue at hand. Additionally, authorities successfully identified the family, the location of the incident, and began taking the necessary measures against them.
The police arrested both the father and the mother after neighbors disclosed that they had been repeatedly assaulting their children without anyone intervening.
Local reports revealed that the father assaulted his children as a method of "disciplining" them for their wrong actions. The father was teaching his son "a lesson" because he stole his brother's phone to buy cigarettes, which triggered the brutal beatings captured in the video.
While many condemn the act, the victim's brother took to his father's defense and said in a Facebook post, "Dad is affectionate, but my brother made a mistake and had to be punished."
He added, "My little brother did something wrong and my father sat him down and explained it to him once or twice, but he insisted on doing it again, which prompted my father to discipline him like any father raising his son. I condemn all the comments made by citizens on social media. No one knows anything. They just watched the video on Facebook, but no one understood, and they are all saying whatever they want."

Video: Libyan man sparks anger after unleashing lion on Egyptian worker
ALBAWABA - A video recently sparked anger on social media after capturing a Libyan man unleashing his lion on an Egyptian worker. While laughter was heard coming from the Libyan farmer who captured the video in question, the lion left the worker in a state of panic as it wrapped its claws around his body and started biting him. The Egyptian worker complained several times to the farmer, who told him to stay calm and "enjoy" the continuous attacks from the lion. The video flooded social media, sparking anger among human rights activists who claimed that the video was documented in Libya without specifying the exact location. Activists described the incident as an "insult to human dignity" and "disregard for human life." Additionally, they called for whoever was responsible to be held accountable for their actions. In response to the backlash, the Libyan farmer said that he was "joking" when he unleashed the lion on the worker. An Egyptian blogger wrote, "This was neither a joke nor a game. It was a means of humiliation and terror, and perhaps a show of force, as if the dignity of this young Egyptian man was worth nothing." Another added, "Even if he was joking, he shouldn't have done this. Is it reasonable to trust a predatory animal? The scene is extremely humiliating, and the authorities must intervene against anyone who attempts to disregard human dignity." According to Al Arabiya, raising wild animals in Libya has become a common phenomenon, as the public raised concerns after reports of spotting lions and tigers roaming the streets alongside their owners, including public places and residential areas.

IDF responds to Mohamed Salah's post about 'Palestinian Pele'
ALBAWABA - A member of the Israeli army has responded to Egyptian footballer, Mohamed Salah, after his criticism of UEFA's recent post about the killing of "Palestinian Pele," Suleiman Obeid. At just the age of 41, Obeid was shot dead on August 6 by Israeli forces while awaiting humanitarian aid due to the ongoing famine in Gaza, which has caused the death of over 217 Palestinians, including 100 children. While the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) took to its official X (formerly known as Twitter) with a farewell message to Suleiman, the post didn't disclose the reason for his death, prompting Mohamed Salah's response on the same platform. Salah wrote, "Can you tell us how he died, where, and why?" alongside several other pro-Palestine X users who voiced the same opinion. A fellow X user wrote, "MENTION HIS DEATH CAUSE TOO! The one who killed him his is Israel, its a huge shame that you didn't mention that." Several others called for the ban of Israel from UEFA for its ongoing aggression on Gaza since Oct. 7, 2023, which resulted in the killing of over 60,000 Palestinians. Hey Mohamed, After an initial review, we found no records of any incidents involving Suleiman al-Obeid. In order to take a closer look, we need more details. — LTC Nadav Shoshani (@LTC_Shoshani) August 10, 2025 In response to Salah, IDF International Spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Nadav Shoshani wrote, "Hey Mohamed, After an initial review, we found no records of any incidents involving Suleiman al-Obeid. A pro-Palestine user wrote, "So I should take the word of the people committing the crime? Got it." Another added, "can you check your records of how many childern you killed to date?"
