2025 Arizona Cardinals offseason roster profile: P Blake Gillikin
The Arizona Cardinals are in offseason mode and we are days away from free agency and weeks from the NFL draft. Leading up to the new league year, we will take a look at each player on the roster or signed to a reserve deal and break down where they stand with the team.
We will look at their 2024 season, their contract status and what their status is for the coming offseason and 2025 season.
Next up is punter Blake Gllikin.
2024 Blake Gillikin stats, season
Gillikin, in his second year as the team's punter, played 13 games and had an even more effective season than he did in 2023. After averaging 50.6 yards per punt in 2023 with a 42.9-yard net average, he averaged 49.7 yards per punt last season but saw his net average increase to 44.2 yards. He had only one touchback and had 19 punts inside the 20, an increase from 11 in 2023. His inside-the-20 percentage was a career-high 50%.
However, he finished the season on injured reserve, missing the final four games with an ankle injury.
2025 contract status
Gillikin enters the second year of the two-year, $3.7 million contract he signed last offseason. He will make $1.8 million in 2025 and count $2.1 million against the salary cap.
Outlook for 2025
Gillikin returns as the team's punter. Assuming his ankle is fully healed, we can look forward to another good year.

What are the odds the Rams trade for Micah Parsons?
Let's just put this disclaimer out there first: The Los Angeles Rams probably aren't going to trade for Dallas Cowboys star edge rusher Micah Parsons. Yes, Parsons requested a trade from the Cowboys after contract negotiations broke down. Yes, the Rams are in a win-now mode with Super Bowl aspirations. But that doesn't automatically mean the Rams will try to land Parsons in a blockbuster deal. Vegas seems to agree. According to DraftKings Sportsbook, the Rams have +1800 odds to be Parsons' next team. That ranked seventh on the initial odds list provided by the sportsbook. The rest of the odds went: Cowboys (-300), Philadelphia Eagles (+1000), New England Patriots (+1000), Los Angeles Chargers (+1500), Arizona Cardinals (+1600) and San Francisco 49ers (+1600). Now, the seventh-best odds are still pretty good relative to a 32-team league. But it's more likely those odds are a testament to the Rams' history as a trade partner and their pursuit of a Super Bowl in 2025 than them being a legitimate suitor for Parsons. The Rams also don't really need another starting edge rusher. They already have 2024 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year Jared Verse (who Parsons admittedly loves as a player) as well as Byron Young and Braden Fiske. L.A. also just drafted Josaiah Stewart in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft. However, that depth doesn't preclude them from using any of those players (save for Verse) in a package for Parsons — especially because all of them are on rookie deals and Parsons will be looking for a record-setting extension. All things considered, this is a fool's bet for anyone who seriously thinks the Rams are a true favorite to trade for Parsons. But, anything is possible in the NFL.

Here's what NFL Network could look like at ESPN after bombshell media deal
As early as next season, NFL Network will have a new look. The network is being acquired by ESPN as part of a blockbuster billion-dollar deal that includes many of the NFL's top media assets, The Athletic's Andrew Marchand reported Friday. The report noted that within the ESPN family of programming, NFL Network could wind up looking akin to SEC Network, which provides constant programming about the league while ESPN's flagship channel also broadcasts SEC games and SEC-related shows. NFL Network is being acquired by ESPN. Getty Images A similar setup, with on-air talent being used across NFL Network and ESPN other networks, is a 'very possible' outcome, according to The Athletic's report. The report also noted that ESPN is 'expected to invest in improving NFL Network programming.' The NFL hoped NFL Network could be a competitor to ESPN when the network was created in 2003, featuring shows like 'Good Morning Football,' 'NFL GameDay Kickoff' and 'The Insiders,' but that never materialized. The network had suffered from a series of cutbacks over the years, according to the report. ESPN is acquiring many of the NFL's media assets in a blockbuster deal. Icon Sportswire via Getty Images The seismic deal also shifts the rights of NFL RedZone, produced at the NFL Network Studios in Inglewood, Calif., to ESPN. It's unclear how exactly RedZone will be packaged and priced, but it is likely to be included as part of ESPN's existing channels and on the Worldwide Leader's to-be-released app. In addition to RedZone and NFL Network, ESPN is expected to gain access to seven more regular-season games, the NFL's fantasy football business and the potential to integrate other special features, including betting. The deal comes as ESPN is preparing to launch a new direct-to-consumer service, which will enable subscribers to watch all of the network's programming for $29.99 per month, even without having ESPN through cable or satellite.
