Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom reps break silence on split after nine-year romance
Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have finally broke their silence after a week of swirling speculation that they have called it quits on their nine-year relationship.
The couple have seen ups and downs since they first dated in 2016. They went Instagram official in May 2016 when the musician shared a funny photo of herself and Orlando dressed in bathrobes on the steps of the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Cannes, France.
They dated for a little over a year before calling it quits in early 2017, but they soon got back together in 2018 and announced their engagement in 2019 before moving in together that same year. Her ring consists of a ruby in the middle surrounded by eight white diamonds in a floral pattern.
Katy and Orlando then took their relationship to the next level and welcomed their daughter, Daisy Dove in August 2020.
The pair was last spotted together publicly at the 2025 Vanity Fair Oscar Party in March 2025. And an expert has pinpointed a telling sign that the couple weren't their usual selves even then, as unearthed snaps show a sad signal from Katy - who looks 'almost unrecognisable'.
Their reps have now issued a joint statement following rumours fo their split, USMagazine reports.
'Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on coparenting. They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is — and always will be — raising their daughter with love, stability and mutual respect.'
It comes after Orlando Bloom shared a series of cryptic quotes referring to "darkness" and "loneliness" on July 2.
He shared a post by the account @sapienkind which focused on the late Carl Jung, who's considered the founder of analytical psychology. The post included more than a dozen quotes attributed to the psychologist.
One quote included in the repost from Orlando was about loneliness. It read: "Loneliness does not come from having no people about one, but from being unable to communicate the things that seem important to oneself."
Whilst another of those featured in the post focused on love and power. That quote read: "Where love rules, there is no will to power, and where power predominates, love is lacking. The one is the shadow of the other."
"Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and the word happy would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness," one quote read. Whilst another read: "Know all the theories, master all the techniques, but as you touch a human soul, be just another human soul."

Romeo and Cruz Beckham have paid tribute to Premier League footballer Diogo Jota and his brother, Andre Felipe, died in a crash in Zamora near Spain's north-west border with Portugal Romeo Beckham has shared a poignant post about 'life being too short', after being rocked by the death of footballer Diogo Jota. The 28-year-old Premier League footballer and his brother, Andre Felipe, died in a horror crash in Zamora near Spain's north-west border with Portugal. The tragic incident occurred just days after Jota's marriage to his childhood sweetheart, Rute Cardoso, who had to identify her husband and his brother after the devastating incident. After the news was made public, Romeo took to his Instagram to share a black and white photo and four broken love hearts. Romeo then followed this up with a second post about reaching out to loved ones as he. urged 'don't hold back from love.' Emotional Romeo, 22, wrote: "Life is too short. Love who you love and tell them how much you really do. Life can flash before your eyes in a moment. But the people who truly love you and care for you will always be there. DON'T hold back from love or appreciation for anything or anyone." Romeo's younger brother Cruz, also took to his Instagram stories to share a tribute to the football star. Alongside a picture of Jota, he posted a series of love heart emojis to share his sadness at the tragic news. Nothing is more important than family and when things like this happen it puts everything into perspective." Another Reddit user echoed: "I feel like Romeo is very emotionally intelligent and perhaps feels like this is a way to send a message to Brooklyn." While someone else agreed: "If something every happens to the Beckham family they will regret this for the rest of their lives. Nothing is worth falling out with your family over." Piers Morgan also shared a tribute on social media. On Twitter /X, he wrote: "Desperately sad news coming out of Spain that Liverpool and Portugal star Diogo Jota, 28, has died, along with his brother, in a car accident in Zamora.
