Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing

H-NEW
) was selected in one of the 12 categories for its work in
anti-narcotics enforcement
. The Hyderabad CP, who is the head of H-NEW, received the award.
"I spoke about issues related to narcotics faced by India, especially after Covid, the ways in which drugs are entering the country and the various gangs apprehended. H-New's awareness campaigns in educational institutions through anti-drug committees as well as rehabilitation measures were highlighted," Anand said.
The other 11 categories are: Excellence in Road Safety, Best Innovative Idea in Security and Law Enforcement, Best Artificial Intelligence Implementation in Policing, Excellence in Forensic Science, Good Samaritan, Excellence in Customer Service in Policing, People of Determination Excellence, Startups Innovation, Inspiring Female Officer, and Best Police Application Award.

It was said that she died on the spot during the show in front of the spectators. Many people were convinced that the incident was real because the video looked convincing. No Record Of Incident Or Trainer However, fact-checking investigations reported by the International Business Times (IBT) revealed that the incident was entirely fabricated. There are no official records, credible news reports or reliable sources that confirm Radcliffe's existence. Fact-checkers from Vocal Media also found no mention of her name in marine park employment records, public databases or marine safety reports. Official logs contain no details of any such attack at the park. As per IBT, analysts who examined the viral video discovered that it was created using AI-generated voiceovers combined with unrelated archival footage. In some versions, a claim was added suggesting that menstrual blood in the water provoked the whale, The Star reported. This is not supported by any scientific evidence. Experts say such dramatic but baseless details are often inserted into fake stories to increase their shock value and encourage more sharing online. Elements Borrowed From Real Incidents Further investigations into the video reveal that the hoax was possibly made to sound more convincing by borrowing details from real tragedies involving orcas and trainers. In 2010, SeaWorld trainer Dawn Brancheau died after an encounter with an orca in Florida. A year earlier, Spanish trainer Alexis Martínez lost his life in a similar incident at a marine park in Tenerife. Both events were widely covered in the media and later featured in documentaries such as Blackfish. Why Hoaxes Feel Believable IBT, citing research published in the peer-reviewed journal PLOS One, said that false stories often use parts of real events to appear believable. During the COVID-19 pandemic, many hoaxes used genuine sources or familiar incidents to seem true. This approach can mislead even experienced readers into thinking the content is real. A study titled Lies, Damn Lies, and Viral Content, published in the Columbia Journalism Review, said that news organisations play a 'powerful role" in spreading false claims. The research, conducted over several months, found that many of its findings reflect poorly on the behaviour of online media. SP MLA, minister spar over security of journalists in state
CITING THE arrests and murders of journalists in the state, the opposition on Tuesday questioned the government whether it would bring 'Patrakar Suraksha Kanoon' to ensure security of journalists. During question hour, SP MLA Sachin Yadav asked, 'Will the government bring Patrakar Suraksha Kanoon for the security of journalists in the state?' While elaborating on his supplementary question, Sachin spoke about how journalists were arrested while covering an exam paper leak case on Ballia and cited the recent murder of a journalist in Sitapur. Pointing out that several cases were registered against journalists during the Covid pandemic period, he claimed that less than one fourth of these cases led to convictions. 'In 2020, 361 journalists were arrested, while only 54 were later convicted. Aaj ka journalists physical attack, legal harassment jhel raha hai…' said Sachin. He asked the government if it would form such a committee to look into 'Right to access for investigation, Minimum wages for freelance journalists, Minimum advertisement to all, Censorship appeal to neutral committee and also protection against FIR until investigation…' To this, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna responded by saying that the SP MLAs should be aware of the 'links of those involved in killing the journalist in Sitapur…' Khanna asserted that the government respects journalists and also appreciates their contribution and, when prompted by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath who was sitting next to him, also emphasised that the government also gave Rs 10 lakh ex-gratia on the death of journalists during the pandemic period. Khanna also alleged that instead journalists were harassed during the erstwhile SP government. Claiming that the government is working to ensure security of all, including journalists, Khanna informed the house that there is already a district level committee made for the purpose, which comprises the Superintendent of Police of that respective district, four senior journalists and officials of the Information Department as members, which meets once in two months to tackle such issues.

Morbi businessman caught in web of losses, betrayal ends life
Rajkot:A 42-year-old businessman from Morbi died by suicide on Monday, allegedly after being trapped in a vicious web of financial losses and extortion, including threats of a false rape case by a woman he was in a relationship with. On the complaint lodged by deceased Ashok Padaliya's brother-in-law Prakash, the A-division police booked his partners - Amit Charola, Bhavesh Vidhja, Bipin Detroja, Manoj Sanandia, the woman Manisha Gohil and one Archit Mehta. Ashok left a suicide note naming the six. FIR states that around seven years ago, Ashok had leased a ceramics factory on Laghdirpur Road in Morbi for a monthly rent of Rs nine lakh. Amit, Bhavesh, Bipin, and Manoj joined as partners. Ashok was responsible for purchasing raw materials for the factory, while Bipin handled the accounts. Profits and losses were shared equally among the partners. When the business began incurring losses, Ashok was tasked with arranging funds. Before the Covid-19 pandemic, Ashok's father fell ill which required personal attention. Ashok requested his partners to pay their share of the debt so he could do the same, but they insisted he first cover their share, promising to repay him later. Consequently, Ashok sold his land and property to pay off Rs 4.37 crore. Despite repeated requests for repayment, his partners evaded him and eventually threatened him, leaving Ashok in constant distress. Around the same time, Ashok developed a romantic relationship with Manisha from Ahmedabad and frequently visited her. Meanwhile, Manisha came into contact with Archit from Gandhinagar, and the duo together extracted nearly Rs 70 lakh from him under various pretexts. The complaint states that Archit then threatened Ashok via WhatsApp calls from Manisha's phone, warning him that his family would be harmed if he did not pay more money. A few days before the incident, Ashok asked for Rs 2 lakh from his brother, stating that he would be forced to consume poison if he did not receive the money. Ashok told him that Manisha had called him to meet in Junagadh where she and Archit demanded Rs 25 lakh, threatening to implicate him in a rape case if he did not comply.
