Neighbours boss confirms if Kylie and Jason will return in second finale

Metroa day ago

Jason Herbison, the Executive Producer of Neighbours, has opened up about the show's finale.
In 2022, Channel 5 aired the last ever episode of Neighbours. It featured the return of a whole host of familiar characters including Jason Donovan and Kylie Minogue's Scott and Charlene.
Months later, streaming platform Amazon Freevee picked the show up, allowing it to return.
Earlier this year, fans were heartbroken once more as they learnt the soap had been cancelled again.
The final scenes are being filmed in July, with the last episode set to air in December.
Ahead of the farewell, show producer Jason Herbison has opened up about what to expect for the last instalment.
'I've already written it, and I would say that I definitely am not going to try and compete with that finale', he told Back to the Bay, noting the 2022 episode.
'I haven't picked up the phone to Jason [Donovan] and Kylie [Minogue] and Guy [Pierce] again. I've left them alone, but it will be very similar in tone. I think it's a very warm, hopeful tone, but it's also a little bit different. There are things about it that I think might remind people of the previous finale, but it's also very different.' Jason went on to stay that he remains hopeful this isn't the last we've seen of Ramsay Street.

'I think, as has been well documented, the show's not ending because people aren't still enjoying it. We still have an amazing following.
'Unfortunately, the closure of Amazon Freevee did mean the end of the show. But having said that, at the end of this chapter of the show, they were terrific and gave us lots of notice on it as well, which is as much as you can possibly hope for. It wasn't something that took anyone by surprise.

BBC EastEnders: When did it begin and will it ever end?

The soap opera is also one of the most popular in the UK, standing among other TV titans like Coronation Street and Emmerdale. Whether you are a seasoned fan or someone just getting into the programme, you may be interested in learning more about this British institution. EastEnders came on the scene much later than its rivals, first airing on February 19, 1985, according to the BBC. The Manchester-based drama Coronation Street, on the other hand, is the longest-running television soap opera in the UK, first airing in 1960. At the moment, there is no immediate indication that the BBC show will come to an end, with the programme averaging a viewership of around five million. The Irish News states that it is also the most-watched show on iPlayer, securing its position in the broadcaster's roster of shows. Those wanting to watch every episode of EastEnders from 1985 onwards may have a tricky time. Episodes from 2008 to the current day can be accessed on BBC iPlayer, while those wanting to watch a limited number of installations before this time can do so on platforms like U and Drama on Freeview and Sky. However, some of "the all-time greatest doof doofs, deaths and dramas" of the classic era are available in the form of compilations on iPlayer. One fan on Reddit also recommended searching through eBay for sales of DVDs and videos. They said: "Search eBay on the regular as offers for full years or the whole Archive are often available for limited periods." The user added: "This can be pricey, however, so explore what offers there are and what years you really want." Forums may also be an option, with fans able to put out requests for older episodes.
