Neighbours boss confirms if Kylie and Jason will return in second finale

Metro09-06-2025
Jason Herbison, the Executive Producer of Neighbours, has opened up about the show's finale.
In 2022, Channel 5 aired the last ever episode of Neighbours. It featured the return of a whole host of familiar characters including Jason Donovan and Kylie Minogue's Scott and Charlene.
Months later, streaming platform Amazon Freevee picked the show up, allowing it to return.
Earlier this year, fans were heartbroken once more as they learnt the soap had been cancelled again.
The final scenes are being filmed in July, with the last episode set to air in December.
Ahead of the farewell, show producer Jason Herbison has opened up about what to expect for the last instalment.
'I've already written it, and I would say that I definitely am not going to try and compete with that finale', he told Back to the Bay, noting the 2022 episode.
'I haven't picked up the phone to Jason [Donovan] and Kylie [Minogue] and Guy [Pierce] again. I've left them alone, but it will be very similar in tone. I think it's a very warm, hopeful tone, but it's also a little bit different. There are things about it that I think might remind people of the previous finale, but it's also very different.' Jason went on to stay that he remains hopeful this isn't the last we've seen of Ramsay Street.

'I think, as has been well documented, the show's not ending because people aren't still enjoying it. We still have an amazing following.
'Unfortunately, the closure of Amazon Freevee did mean the end of the show. But having said that, at the end of this chapter of the show, they were terrific and gave us lots of notice on it as well, which is as much as you can possibly hope for. It wasn't something that took anyone by surprise.

Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) has been suspicious about John for a long time. Emmerdale fans know John killed Nate Robinson in a shock twist last year. And he's gone on to kill his ex-fiancee Aidan shortly after he woke up from a coma. Viewers also watched recently as he framed patient Owen for Nate's murder - before killing him too. Mackenzie discovered an old photo of John with an army buddy - the same man who took Nate's belongings away. Driving Mack away from the village, John confronted him for searching through his stuff. He chillingly asked the mechanic: "By now I'm guessing you've joined up the dots?" John added: "Really would've been better for everyone if you had not seen that photo of me. Better for you." Mackenzie confirmed he knows John killed Nate - and he's known there was "something wrong" with him for a while. Emmerdale icon set to quit the Dales days after co-star's exit was confirmed and shock cheating plot After a scuffle, Mackenzie fled into the woods while John pursues, armed with a crossbow. Cornering him, John shot Mackenzie in the back with an arrow, after he tries escaping. Later, viewers saw the boot of John's van with blood stains and a body covered by a sheet. The episode ended with a flashback of John throwing a heavy rock down at a helpless Mackenzie. It comes as The Sun previously revealed Lawrence Robb had filmed devastating murder scenes for his character. A source said at the time: 'The scenes are going to be really harrowing for fans to watch. 'Mackenzie has been in so many scrapes and dangerous positions but this time it looks like he's bitten off more than he can chew. 'Viewers will be on the edges of their seats watching what happens.' Darkest soap storylines Over the years the likes of EastEnders, Emmerdale and Coronation Street have all tried to try outdo each other with their outlandish plots in a bid to keep us tuning in each week. But here are some of the darkest that had fans in shock... EastEnders: Tony grooming Whitney (2008-2009) - Tony King first appeared in Albert Square in 2008 as the boyfriend of Bianca, played by Patsy Palmer. But it was quickly revealed he was a paedophile who had been grooming vulnerable Whitney, Bianca's adopted stepdaughter from a previous relationship, since she was 12. The shocking storyline attracted more than 200 complaints within a week of it beginning. Whitney waited until her 16th birthday to reveal the truth to a horrified Bianca, who called the police. Emmerdale: Holly's drug addiction and shock death (2010-2016) - In 2010, Holly Barton (played by Sophie Powles) became Emmerdale's first teenage drug addict. The shocking storyline saw her taking cocaine on a night out before developing a deadly heroin habit. Parents John and Moira desperately tried to help get their daughter clean but when Holly returned in 2016, following a four-year absence, she quickly relapsed. Fans were left stunned and heartbroken when distraught Moira found Holly dead in her bed from a heroin overdose. Hollyoaks: Luke's rape (2000) - Actor Gary Lucy was just 17 when he took on this groundbreaking storyline, which saw his character Luke Morgan become soap's first male rape victim. Luke had endured a long-running bullying campaign by football rival Mark Gibbs - who raped him after Luke stood up to him. Luke was left suicidal following the brutal attack, before opening up to his brother Adam. Gibbs was sentenced to eight years in prison. Gary won the Best Actor gong at the British Soap Awards in 2000 for his performance. Coronation Street: Evil Richard Hillman (2001-2003) - Just a mere mention of 'Richard Hillman' is enough to send a shiver down the spines of soap fans. He is often ranked one of the most evil soap villains and it's not hard to see why. The smooth-talking financial adviser bashed his ex-wife Patricia over the head with a shovel. In a bid to keep his mother-in-law Audrey quiet, he set fire to her house. And when Maxine caught him trying to murder Emily Bishop, he took a crowbar to her head. He made his exit from the cobbles in 2003 when he drove Gail Platt, played by Helen Worth, and her family into the canal. They survived, but he didn't. The scenes are set to air later this year after Mackenzie makes a chilling discovery about John. The insider added: 'There are huge twists and turns coming throughout this storyline and it's going to run for months and months. 'Nothing can be ruled out - bosses are really going for it and doing everything they can to keep the audience on their toes.' Emmerdale airs on ITV1 and ITVX. 5 John shot Mackenzie in the back - with an arrow Credit: ITV

I moved to a posh mansion after growing up on a council estate - but our judgy neighbour was so vile we had to leave

A woman who moved from a council estate to a 'posh' area admitted she wasn't prepared to have to deal with a 'vile' neighbour. Terri-Ann Nunns, 41, from Doncaster, who previously featured on Channel 5 's Rich House, Poor House, has revealed how she moved from a one-bedroom flat into her 'dream' mansion after creating a successful diet plan. However her fairytale was short lived after a neighbour made her living situation so difficult she was forced to sell the property and move out. Describing her 'dream home' Terri-Ann explained the fancy property came complete with a cinema room and bar, but it was unfortunately not to be her forever home because of the difficult neighbour. She claimed he had a problem with her because she 'wasn't posh' and will 'always a bit rough and ready.' Taking to her TikTok @terriann_nunns, the mother-of-three explained the real problems began when she spent £40,000 building a home office in her garden. In the clip, which racked up over 16,000 views, she explained: 'So before the Rich House, Poor House I had a different house. 'It were probably a bit bigger, had a, like, cinema room, bar and everything in it were amazing, like dream house. Then I had a new neighbour and he wasn't very nice,' she said. 'I think personally he could not stand the fact like I'm just me-I'm not posh, I'm just me, I'll never change.' 'I'll always be from a council estate, always a bit rough and ready... and he just couldn't stand us.' Terri-Ann explained she had a 'massive drive' for all her staff to park on, but they all arrived for work at different times, meaning that they ended up blocking each other in. She said: 'So he was moaning about my staff parking on street. I had a massive, drive for everybody to park on, every staff member, but because they're coming at different times, one of them would get blocked in. 'So they just thought, oh, we'll park on street. So one of my staff argued with him. 'He nudged her, it was vile. Honestly, I just think he just couldn't stand the fact that we weren't posh. We were just, like, normal.' Terri-Ann believes that her neighbour ended up phone the council to say she was running a commercial business out of her home. She said: 'I don't know, he just hated us. So he was phoning the council on me for having all these cars. 'And then when council got involved, basically the reason I had to move out the house is because they said I couldn't run my business from there. 'So I'd spent £40,000 on this office being built in the back garden, and the council turned around and said you're using your property as a commercial property which we weren't. 'We had the big house and the thing at the back garden. Anyway, I said i'm not staying here. 'I'm not staying here and not be able to run my business. It's just not worth it, what we've invested. 'So we sold the house, made money from it, sold the house and bought the one that's on Rich House, Poor House.' Terri-Ann said that often times people who don't come from council estate or have had a more privileged upbringing often times 'look down' on those that do. She said: 'I think sometimes as well, if you've not come from a council estate or you've, come from a posh family or whatever, I'm not saying everybody, but I think you look down on people who have turned their life around, who are now living that lifestyle.' Many rushed to the comments to congratulate the entrepreneur on her success, while others resonated with what she was saying. One person said: 'Love to see my own kind of people getting along in life good on you. sounds like the neighbour was very bitter and jealous of you X' Another joked: 'Girl I feel you, I miss the estate so bad! Way to snooty round here' Someone else added: 'Loving your story times…you are so real.' A fourth added: 'Tbf no hate but you should of thought about parking if running a business from property. Just in case it did impact on locals.' To which Terri-Ann replied: 'We had a massive drive and the street was massive for parking.' Terri-Ann is celebrated globally for her Terri-Ann New You Plan, and regularly shares her top tricks and tips after going through her own drastic body transformation. She is a self-made millionaire who went from being a single mother living in a council house to making £1.8million a year. However in Rich House, Poor House she admitted she was happier in her old life when she was struggling. During the swap, Terri-Ann is quickly reminded of her roots, and says: 'We're probably less happy now, I have to work loads of hours, and neglect Michael (her husband) a little bit, and obviously it's clear I neglect my kids because they told me all this week.'
