ITV This Morning fans gobsmacked as they realise Dermot O'Leary's real age
This Morning viewers were gobsmacked to discover Dermot O'Leary's age as the presenter celebrated his birthday on Friday (May 23).
As the show kicked off, co-host Alison Hammond revealed that Dermot would be turning 52 tomorrow and said that they'd be celebrating throughout the episode.
"We're gonna be dancing into the bank holiday because, guess what? It's a certain someone's birthday this weekend. Who is it? I have no idea," joked Alison.
"Am I allowed to say how old you are?" she then inquired, with Dermot conceding: "Well, you're going to say it anyway because you love the fact that I am older than you."
Alison then praised him, saying: "He is an incredible, unbelievable, I mean he doesn't look it but he's 52 years old," reports Wales Online.
Entering the weekend with a spring in their step, she declared, "We are dancing into the weekend," as they jived to Yazz and The Plastic Population's classic tune, The Only Way Is Up.
Alison then mentioned that she'd picked a personal track for Dermot.
"This is just for you because I love you very much. This song is for you, go for it," she said before Carly Simon's You're So Vain played into the studio.
"Thanks everybody," Dermot laughed as he started jokingly bowing to each camera.
"That's my favourite thing that you do, it makes me laugh. Literally, he comes into the studio and takes a bow for everyone before he starts the show, absolutely love it."
Dermot admitted he didn't have grand plans for his birthday, though he was thinking about going on holiday for a few days.
"I mean, it's a really big one, 52 and all," Alison jested as Dermot chimed in with: "Lovely thing is, you're just right behind me."
Alison wrapped up the exchange by saying: "I hope you have a lovely day. Obviously I'm not going to be with you, I'm gutted it's not your birthday today but I'm gonna make it your birthday today."
After watching the segment, Thi s Morning fans were astonished upon discovering Dermot's age, with many expressing their amazement on X (formerly Twitter).
One fan exclaimed, "Wow Dermot looks great for 52!" while another commented, "Dermot on top form as ever."
A third said: "Dermot looks younger than Shephard," echoed by another who remarked: "I was just thinking exactly the same."
Additionally, there were countless messages of delight and celebration, with another fan expressing, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY DERMOT you lovely man you."

Netflix viewers have been left in tears over a new documentary series which takes a look at the making of a controversial reality show which aired back in 2004. Netflix viewers have slammed a fresh documentary as "outrageous" after being left with their "jaw on the floor". A brand new docuseries dropped on Netflix on August 15 which has left social media abuzz. Fit for TV: The Reality of The Biggest Loser, provides a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the creation of the popular competition programme. The show aired for 18 series starting in 2004 and concluding in 2016, with a comeback effort launched in 2020. However, this three-part series showcases exclusive chats with the creators, producers, former participants and trainers such as Bob Harper who were part of producing the programme. During one particularly gruelling challenge organised by the programme's producers, she claims she experienced a brush with death. Posting on TikTok, one viewer described the documentary as "outrageous" whilst adding: "Throughout the entire series my jaw was on the floor, I was in a red hot rage." One viewer remarked: "It's really horrific. I actually loved watching the Australian version at the time. How things have changed! Why didn't I see it then?".
