Meghan Markle says she ‘would ask people to tell the truth' in new podcast episode
(NewsNation) — Meghan has revealed how she would rewrite her public narrative if given the chance on the latest episode of Emma Grede's podcast.
The 43-year-old appeared in Tuesday's episode of 'Aspire with Emma Grede.' In the 90-minute episode, Grede asked Meghan about the public's perception of her and what she would change if she had the chance.
'I would ask people to tell the truth,' Meghan revealed. 'A lie can't live forever. Eight years is a long time, but it's not forever.'
Meghan was in the spotlight before she started dating Prince Harry in 2016 as one of the lead actresses on USA Network's Suits. Markle married Harry in 2018 and performed her royal duties until the couple stepped back in 2020 and moved to the United States.
Since they stepped back, both Harry and Meghan have talked about the mistreatment they received while doing their royal duties and how the palace didn't protect them. In 2021, the couple shared their story in a CBS interview. They also revealed a lot more in their 2022 docuseries 'Harry & Meghan' on Netflix.
Meghan also spoke with Grede about a video she recently posted on Instagram that has gone viral. The 'baby mama dance' video was a throwback that she posted for her daughter, Princess Lilibet's, birthday.
Grede told Meghan that she did a 'little secret cheer' when she saw the video that Meghan had filmed in the delivery room before Lilibet was born.
Meghan explained that the clip 'was four years ago.' She also told Grede, 'So it's also a really great reminder that with all the noise or whatever people do, there's still a whole life — a real, authentic, fun life — that's happening behind the scenes.'
She also said, 'I'm just grateful that now, being back on social as well, I have a place where I can share it on my own terms.' Meghan rejoined Instagram back in January after years of being off social media completely.
'I'm just grateful that now, being back on social as well, I have a place where I can share it on my own terms,' she added, referring to her personal social media handle.
On the podcast, Meghan said she and Harry have been working with Netflix for five years. Netflix also fully produced Meghan's 'As Ever' product line. Her show, 'With Love, Meghan,' had dropped off the streaming service's top ten list in less than a week. Netflix also fully produced Meghan's 'As Ever' product line.
NewsNation's Paula Froelich reported that Meghan's Netflix show will still be given a third season, regardless of viewership, because the streaming giant is invested in making her products and show a success.
Froelich heard that many people are 'done' with the Sussex family at Netflix, but the third season will be used to see if commerce and entertainment can be combined for profit.

In one photo, Fox can be seen sitting in the center, surrounded by all four of his kids — son Sam, 36, and daughters Aquinnah and Schuyler, 30, and Esmé, 23 – as well as Pollan. Another snap showed the family of six posing together outside, dressed up in dresses and suits. In the photo, Fox could be seen standing between his wife Pollan and Dr. Jill Biden, who was next to Fox's son Sam and his daughter Esmé. On the other side of Pollan, President Biden smiled as he stood by Fox's twin daughters, Schuyler and Aquinnah. "WOW. Did this happen? Lots of thanks to everybody including Tracy and the kids. I am truly humbled," Fox wrote in his caption. A second post showed another sweet photo of the family of six, smiling together as Fox showed off his new medal. Pollan also shared a birthday message for Esmé, writing on Instagram: "I love you @esmeannabelle Happy Birthday!!! 3 of the biggest Netflix releases coming next week that belong on your watchlist
If you purchase an independently reviewed product or service through a link on our website, BGR may receive an affiliate commission. Netflix is heating up the second half of June with a handful of high-profile TV series coming next week that couldn't be more different from each other — and there's a good chance that at least one of the three we're going to preview in this post will land squarely in your wheelhouse. Whether you're in the mood for a Southern drama filled with crime and family secrets or a docuseries about one of the most famous professional cheerleading squads, we're pretty sure there's something here worth adding to your queue. And if all else fails? At least Phil Rosenthal is back with another season of food-fueled globetrotting that's practically comfort TV on demand. Today's Top Deals Best deals: Tech, laptops, TVs, and more sales Best Ring Video Doorbell deals Memorial Day security camera deals: Reolink's unbeatable sale has prices from $29.98 Here's a look at three new Netflix TV releases hitting the streaming giant over the next several days that we think are worth adding to your watchlist: High kicks, big hair, and AC/DC's Thunderstruck blaring through AT&T Stadium? That all obviously means one thing — the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders are back. Season 2 of America's Sweethearts on Netflix picks up right where Season 1 ended, dropping us back into the pressure cooker of open tryouts. Young women from all over are chasing one of the most coveted roles in cheerleading, and just because someone made the team last year doesn't mean they're safe this time around. Even returning fan favorites like Reece and Kelly V have to fight to keep their spots. Directed by Cheer creator Greg Whiteley, the series once again looks behind the sparkle and pom-poms and into the real lives of the women wearing those iconic blue and white uniforms. We follow the cheerleaders not just through rehearsals and their intense routines, but through their private struggles with mental health, financial pressure, body image, and social media drama. The world may be complicated, but one thing remains thankfully simple: Watching Everybody Loves Raymond creator Phil Rosenthal eat makes everything seem better. At least for a little while. The host of Somebody Feed Phil is back for his eighth season in this Netflix classic, bringing his infectious enthusiasm, dad jokes, and insatiable curiosity to a fresh batch of foodie adventures. As always, Rosenthal doesn't just show up for the food; he's there for the people, the culture, and the conversation around the table. Season 8 promises more global exploration and unapologetic joy, as Rosenthal once again proves he's the friendliest guy to ever dive face-first into a street taco or clink glasses in a higher-end setting. This one is the dose of feel-good TV that you're looking for. For this third of next week's big Netflix releases, imagine a version of Succession that's set in the South and mixes a family fishing empire with a criminal enterprise and a dark past that's buried like a rusted-out pickup in a marsh. That, my friends, is more or less what you get with The Waterfront — creator Kevin Williamson's part-Southern noir, part-family saga that's set in a coastal North Carolina town. The story is about the powerful Buckley family, which is fighting to stay on top while everything around them starts to rot. Holt McCallany (Mindhunter) plays Harlan Buckley, the patriarch whose health is fading. His kids, meanwhile, are scheming and switching their allegiances faster than the tide. Jake Weary and Maria Bello play Cane and Belle, the son and matriarch eager to take the reins. But it's Melissa Benoist as Bree, the black sheep daughter fresh out of rehab, who gives the show its emotional center. She's trying to rebuild her life and reconnect with her son, but a dangerously toxic relationship threatens to drag her down, and the whole family down with her.
