Police in Oregon are asking for help tracking down the driver of a minivan that was seen on camera ramming into a motorcyclist during an alleged road rage incident, sending the biker flying off a U.S. highway on the morning of Monday, May 5.
The Beaverton Police Department shared the shocking video on Facebook, which appears to show a motorcyclist pointing at a nearby minivan just before the minivan suddenly speeds up and swerves into the biker. The impact sends the motorcyclist and his bike off U.S. Route 26.
The minivan then speeds off and passes several cars before disappearing out of frame as other drivers appear to slow down in order to stop and check on the biker, who crashed out of frame.
'The preliminary investigation suggests that the incident may have been the result of a road rage interaction between the driver of a blue late-model Kia Carnival and a motorcycle rider,' Beaverton police said in a social media post that included the video. 'The Kia sideswiped the motorcycle, causing the rider to lose control. The driver of the Kia then fled the scene. Investigators believe the driver of the Kia's actions were intentional.'
Beaverton police added that 'the motorcycle rider sustained serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.'

'The driver of the Kia has been described as a White, male, adult, approximately 30 - 40 years of age, with a black beard,' the police department added. 'The Beaverton Police Department is actively seeking the driver of the Kia and the vehicle involved.'

PEOPLE has reached out to Beaverton Police Department officials for an update on both the motorcyclist's condition and the investigation into the driver of the minivan. No charges have been filed as of Tuesday morning and police have not yet provided an update publicly.
'Anyone with information regarding this incident or the suspect's whereabouts is asked to contact Officer Nick Coplin with the Beaverton Police Department at 971.253.9710 or through our non-emergency line at 503.629.0111,' the department asked on social media. 'The Beaverton Police Department urges anyone who may have seen the Kia or witnessed any part of the incident to contact police.'

Woman, 81, Was Last Seen Driving Home in May. Her Human Remains Were Likely Just Found, Son Says
The Kansas Bureau of Investigation said Jerry McConnell was last seen on May 14 in Missouri and driving to her home in Overland Park, Kan. McConnell's car was found abandoned in Cowley County, Kan., on May 20 Authorities announced that human remains during the search for McConnell were found on June 11, about 1 mile from where her vehicle was previously locatedOfficials said human remains were found during the search for a Kansas woman who went missing last month. The Kansas Bureau of Investigation said in a May 17 news release that a Silver Alert was issued for Jerry McConnell, 81, of Overland Park, Kan. According to the bureau, McConnell was last seen in Harrisonville, Mo., on May 14, and driving a grey 2009 Honda Accord to her Overland Park home. Authorities also noted that she may have been near Severy, Kan., on May 15. Then on May 20, according to a news release from the Cowley County Sheriff's Office shared with PEOPLE, deputies were notified that a vehicle associated with the Silver Alert for McConnell was found abandoned on private property in a rural area near the 4000 block of 327th Road in Cowley County, Kan. Daily searches for McConnell were conducted since the discovery of the vehicle, but to no avail, authorities added. Then, on Wednesday, June 11, while searching the area of 333rd Road, authorities came across human remains about 1 mile from the location where McConnell's vehicle was earlier located, said the Cowley County Sheriff's Office. McConnell's personal belongings were also discovered. 'An autopsy is pending to confirm the identity of the remains,' the Cowley County Sheriff's Office said in its statement. 'We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all those who contributed time, resources, and support in the effort to locate Jerry over the past three weeks. Our thoughts and prayers remain with her family during this difficult time,' the department added. Rick McConnell, identified by Fox affiliate WDAF, The Kansas City Star and the Johnson County Post as the victim's son, wrote in a Facebook message that authorities informed him that a body presumed to be that of his mother was found. 'Conditions indicate Jerry likely passed not long after she abandoned her vehicle in the remote location,' Rick wrote. 'The Family wishes to express our gratitude and appreciation for the tireless efforts of both the Cowley County Sheriff's Department and the Overland Park Police Department,' Rick further added. 'Unless you have personally experienced such an unfathomable situation, you cannot comprehend the enormous efforts such an operation entails.' Cicada ‘attack' causes panicked driver to crash, Ohio cops say. ‘Can be dangerous'
Summer has officially landed according to the cicadas being out and about in droves in Ohio. The Cincinnati area has been battling swarms of the irksome insects as viral videos have shown, but they ended up personally victimizing one human — and his car. A cicada managed to fly into the window of a car, causing the driver to crash, the Blue Ash Police Department said in a June 13 Facebook post. 'We're all well aware that these pesky cicadas don't respect personal space, including while driving. It may be a good idea to keep the windows up for the next several weeks,' the department said with a photo of a silver Kia on its side with a shattered windshield. The accident occurred when the panicked driver tried to shoo the insect out of the car when he veered and struck a pole, WLWT5 said. 'As you can see, a cicada attack can be dangerous. Fortunately, no one was injured in this crash. The suspect fled the scene,' the department joked. These types of cicadas are called 'periodical' and appear above ground every 17 years, Britannica says. 'The largest brood makes its appearance every 17 years, like clockwork, in the northeastern quarter of the United States. Shortly after a 17-year cicada nymph hatches from its egg, it burrows into the ground, where it spends—as its name suggests—the first 17 years of its life,' Britannica notes. 'When it emerges from the ground, it lives only four to six more weeks—just long enough to mate, fertilize or lay eggs, and start the cycle all over again.' Blue Ash is about a 20-minute drive northeast of Cincinnati.
