Rylan Clark says 'I'm very happy' in surprise relationship update
TV personality Rylan Clark has revealed that he's "very happy", announcing that he has a new partner. He also added that he and his boyfriend are eager to start a family together.
Rylan split with his ex-husband Dan Neal back in 2021 and his romantic life has been the subject of huge curiosity and rumours among his fans ever since. The BBC Radio 2 host told documentary filmmaker Louis Theroux that he has found love once again during the most recent episode of his Rylan: How to Be in Love podcast, reports the Mirror.
The star had been the one asking Louis the questions until the documentary maker switched the focus onto him, posing a question that has been on fans' minds for quite some time. Louis enquired: "Am I right in thinking since starting this series, you've struck up a relationship?"
Rylan simply replied: "I have. At the time of recording, I'm very happy."
Louis continued by asking whether Rylan is looking to have children in the future, with the host responding: "Yeah. 100 per cent. I want kids. He wants kids."
While the star kept his guard up and didn't elaborate further on who the new individual in his life might be, he did reveal how much his new podcast has assisted him in managing his fresh romance.
He explained: "I've picked up quite a few tips. It's maybe where I've gone wrong in the past."
Rylan has previously opened up candidly about his marriage to Dan Neal and the reasons behind the end of their relationship.
The duo initially met when Rylan was presenting Big Brother's Bit on the Side in 2013, with Dan appearing as a contestant on the programme.
The couple revealed their engagement in 2014, exchanging vows at a celebrity-packed wedding celebration a year later.
In his podcast's debut series, Rylan has dedicated each instalment to conversations with various famous faces and specialists as he embarks on a journey to "rediscover what love is".
Throughout multiple episodes, he has chatted with personalities including Tasha Ghouri, Matt and Emma Willis, Calum Best and Stephen Fry, alongside professionals such as Dr Tara Swart and Philippa Perry.
Beyond his recent podcast project, Rylan has established himself as a regular voice on our radios in recent times.
Following his stint standing in for Zoe Ball on BBC Radio 2 in 2018, he assumed the role permanently when she transitioned to the breakfast programme in 2019. The programme is now titled Rylan on Saturday.
Rylan also recently admitted that he wouldn't want to go through a divorce again, describing the emotional toll as deeply painful.
"I've had to do it once, and once was enough for me," he confessed. "You still get that weird sharp pain every now and again."
The 36 year old continued: "It'll be something so stupid like, 'Oh that glass looks like...' and it's, like, that little. I couldn't imagine going through that twice. I don't know how I'd fare."

The Dales' notorious villain John Sugden struck again in Thursday night's episode. Emmerdale's Thursday night episode (August 21) showed some cut-throat scenes, as Mackenzie Boyd became John Sugden's latest victim. John shot Mack with a bow and arrow before hitting him over the head with a giant rock in the latest gory episode of the ITV soap. Mack had uncovered evidence that proved John was lying, and keeping some dark secrets. But villain John realised Mack was onto him, which led to a confrontation where Mack told John he knew he was the one who killed Nate Robinson. With John making it clear he could not let Mack get out of the situation alive, Mack ran for his life through the woods, only to be caught and seemingly murdered by the Emmerdale killer. It comes after recent reports claimed Mack would be killed off, with actor Lawrence Robb said to be leaving the ITV soap, reported The Mirror. At the end of Wednesday's episode we saw Mack make the worrying realisation that John was hiding a huge secret. He found a scrapbook from John's army days and in it was a photo of John with a man named Ben. But Mack already knew Ben, having met him in the shop earlier that day. He confirmed he was the removal man who had collected Nate Robinson's belongings, which the police now know was organised by Nate's killer. Fans know John murdered Nate and disposed of his body in the lake, before making it look as though Nate had moved away. He had the belongings collected and burned them, while Ben was seemingly under the impression he was talking with Nate. So on Wednesday he claimed to the police that he had no idea Nate was dead and had been the entire time, before identifying Owen as the man he met with to hand over the belongings. Of course this was a lie as Owen was the man John had framed for Nate's death after his own demise weeks ago. Mack put the pieces together and realised John had killed Nate and then asked his pal Ben to pose as a removal guy to get his belongings. He worked this out via the photo, and John realised he had been rumbled. So what ensued was a deadly chase through the woods as Mack fled for his life, with us finally seeing his flashforward scene play out. But John shot Mack with a bow and arrow in some very grim scenes indeed. As Mack struggled to breathe and stay alert, he begged John to let him live and promised he would stay quiet. But John said he needed to silence him, needing to cover his tracks once more. Mack told him he wasn't a murderer, with Nate's death having been an accident, leading to John chillingly commenting that this was about survival. With that he picked up a giant rock and appeared to slam Mack over the head with it, killing him. As the episode came to an end, John claimed he needed to get some petrol and left in his van that was covered in blood - which no one noticed. Love Is Blind finale teaser shows bombshell confession as wedding ends in tears
The Netflix dating show is about to air the final episodes of its second series. *Warning - This article contains spoilers for Love Is Blind UK series two* Series two of Love Is Blind UK is about to draw to a close, and the finale promises plenty of drama. One star is even to make a shocking confession, which was shown in the bombshell teaser for the final episodes. Last night's (August 20) instalments of the series witnessed the five couples adjusting to their new lives together after getting engaged. And things have been getting rocky lately with some of their relationships. Viewers have already witnessed Katisha leave the programme as she left fiancé Javen a letter detailing why she cannot marry him. This followed a dispute where Javen chose to venture out without Katisha, and Megan revealed he had been spotted growing closer to three other singles, Sophie, Yolanda and Aanu. Ashleigh and Billy's romance also seems to be in difficulty as he reveals he is "50/50" regarding their relationship due to conflicting work patterns. As a cabin crew manager, Ashleigh expressed her willingness to make compromises for their relationship, but viewers are yet to see if the couple will make it. Fans must wait slightly longer to discover what unfolds next as the final two episodes won't be available until next Wednesday, August 27. Yet an explosive trailer has offered fans a glimpse, which guarantees yet more twists and drama, reports the Mirror. In a preview, Bardha can be heard revealing she and Jed had an "argument" as she acknowledged: "Right now it does feel really uncomfortable." Kal is also shown tearing up his vows, leaving Sarover in tears later on. Meanwhile, Billy has a shocking revelation for his mother. While sitting on the sofa in his wedding suit, military instructor Billy can be heard confessing: "To be honest mum I do have to be selfish up there. I hope she can forgive me." Brutal way King Richard III was slaughtered at Battle of Bosworth
As a new sculpture trail sheds light on the final hours of King Richard III, what really happened in one of the most pivotal moments of English history? His brutal death at the hands of Henry Tudor's forces was immortalised by William Shakespeare, with one line seared into our collective memory: 'A horse! A horse! My kingdom for a horse!' And now a new sculpture trail is set to shine a light on this seismic moment in English royal history: King Richard III's downfall and the rise of the Tudor dynasty. In a quiet field 15 miles west of Leicester, Richard the Usurper, as his enemies branded him, was defeated in the final chapter of the War of the Roses, the civil war that raged between the houses of Lancaster and York in the second half of the 15th century. With those rumoured last words inked in history – or imagined – by Shakespeare, Richard was the last English monarch to fall on the battlefield, his head stoved in by a long-handled axe known as a halberd. His death on August 22, 1485, ended the Yorkist line – and the Middle Ages – and ushered in the new era of Tudor rule. And this month visitors can immerse themselves in the story on a 12-mile trail around rural Leicestershire, taking in ancient churches, sleepy villages, windswept fields, award-winning pubs and the historic town of Market Bosworth. Historian Philippa Langley, who led the archeological project that discovered Richard III's remains buried under a car park in Leicester in 2012, tells the Mirror: 'Bosworth is one of those moments where history turns on a sixpence. 'Arguably Bosworth was a paradigm shift, just as the Battle of Hastings had been in 1066. Which was the only other battle where a King of England was killed.' Prior to Bosworth, Plantagenet kings Edward IV and Richard III had operated within a system of limited monarchy, and had governed through the regular use of parliament, she says. 'In Richard III's reign he went even further and brought justice to the ordinary people through his laws. He brought in three of the key legal principles that we rely on today: the presumption of innocence, blind justice, and clear title to property. 'Richard was a progressive monarch who was levelling the playing field for everybody in society, he was putting England on a trajectory of everybody having access to justice. 'So when he dies at Bosworth, this is a huge moment because it is the victorious Henry Tudor who sweeps to power and is inspired by how the French king governs: with the monarch being the sole source of power.' By 1485, the bloody War of the Roses had been raging for 30 years between two branches of the Plantagenet family who were descended from Edward III. The House of Lancaster were descendants of John of Gaunt, the third surviving son of King Edward, while the House of York were descended from his fourth son, Edmund of Langley. By the time Yorkist King Edward IV died in 1483, the future of the monarchy was once again under threat from various factions. The late king's son, Edward V, was 12 when he came to the throne, prompting his uncle, Richard III, to be named Lord Protector to act on his behalf. But Richard declared his father's marriage to his mother Elizabeth Woodville illegal, meaning Edward and his younger brother Richard were illegitimate. Held in the Tower of London, they disappeared, likely killed to ensure they could never challenge the line of succession. Richard was crowned king but faced upheaval from forces loyal to Henry Tudor, who had been garnering support during his exile in France. 'At this point, Henry had pretty much no claim to the throne,' says Philippa. 'When he landed with his foreign invading force at Milford Haven in Wales, he is something like 30th in line. 'He was a very insecure, very paranoid but highly intelligent man. He knew he had to present himself as being a newer, better option than Richard.' Henry and his troops made their way to London, picking up more soldiers who rallied to the Lancastrian cause. 'Whoever holds the capital holds the kingdom, so Richard and his army ride out from Leicester to intercept them,' explains Philippa. 'And Bosworth battlefield is that fateful place they met.' One of four sculptures erected on the trail is in St James' Churchyard, Sutton Cheney, where it is believed Richard spent the evening before battle in prayer. 'It is reflective of who Richard III was,' says Philippa. 'We know he was incredibly devout, even for the age in which he lived.' On the day of battle, he led a cavalry charge against Henry's forces in an attempt to kill his challenger. Despite breaking through enemy ranks and unhorsing Henry's standard bearer, he was quickly surrounded and killed. Even Henry's official historian Polydore Vergil recorded 'King Richard, alone, was killed fighting manfully in the thickest press of his enemies'. His broken body, missing the back of its head, was stripped naked, thrown over a horse and paraded through Leicester as Tudor was crowned King Henry VII. 'This is the moment when the Tudor mythology starts – with Richard as the tyrant, the monster, the psychopath, and Henry VII as the person who saved England from this monster,' says Philippa. The bodies of the dead, on both sides, were brought to Dadlington and buried at St James the Greater church. This is also marked by a sculpture that promotes reconciliation. 'This is a special place for me because it is where men from Lancaster and York join together and rest at peace,' says Philippa. King Henry VIII later granted a licence for a chantry priest to pray for the souls of the men who lay at Dadlington, putting an end to the years of inter-family conflict. Richard's body, after being put on display for two days in a Leicester church, was dumped in a hastily dug grave. 'It was too short for his body, so his head and shoulders were lifted in the grave, and he was buried without a coffin,' says Philippa. 'Local friars did what they could for him. When we found him his arms had been crossed over his pelvis and he'd been placed in one of their robes – a great honour.' The Bosworth 1485 Trail opens officially on Friday – to coincide with the date of the battle – and looks to shine a light on the untold stories of the landscape that bore witness to history. The concept came after the 'huge amount of community spirit' shown when Richard's remains were reinterred in Leicester Cathedral, says project officer Gemma Tallis, of Leicestershire Promotions. 'We wanted to put the spotlight on those villages where some of the more intimate stories haven't yet been told,' she adds. 'The course of English history changed in this landscape and for locals, that is enormous.' Check out to discover more information.
