Rylan Clark shares painful relationship confession as he says 'I thought it'd be easier'
Rylan Clark's marriage to Dan Neal came to an end in 2019 and he has now admitted that he thought it would be much "easier" to meet someone new, during a conversation with celebrity friends TV star Rylan Clark has confessed he believed his celebrity status would make the chances of meeting someone new "10 times easier" as he opened up about his quest for romance. Following the breakdown of his marriage four years ago, the former X Factor favourite has been refreshingly frank about wanting to find love again. During a recent heart-to-heart with close mates and fellow celebrities Emma and Matt Willis, he provided a revealing glimpse into his private life. On his Rylan: How To Be In Love podcast, the celebrity couple offered their thoughts on what kind of partner Rylan should pursue next. While they suggested he should seek someone who is "powerful" and "able to look after him", Rylan confessed he'd expected finding the right man to be far more straightforward. Speaking to the married duo, he revealed how he'd assumed fame would simplify his quest for someone new: "I always used to think, and I'm sure you sort of thought this as well, especially you (Matt), you know, you're in a band, you think 'oh, I'll have people throwing themselves at me, I'm famous.' ". He went on to elaborate: "I genuinely thought it'd be 10 times easier, because I've never been single and known (a celebrity)." Rylan first crossed paths with his ex Dan Neal on Big Brother in 2013. At the time, Dan was a contestant on the show, while Rylan was part of the presenting team for its spin-off, Big Brother's Bit on the Side. Fast forward two years from their reality TV encounter, and Rylan and Dan were saying their vows at Braxted Park Estate, Essex. The couple celebrated their special day surrounded by a host of celebrity guests, including Matt and Emma Willis, Katie Price, Eamonn Holmes, and Ruth Langsford. While his personal life has had its ups and downs, Rylan's career has continued to go from strength to strength. He first shot to fame as a contestant on the X Factor in 2012 and has since landed several high-profile broadcasting roles. These include hosting ITV's This Morning and co-starring with Robert Rinder on Rob and Rylan's Grand Tour. In a recent career highlight, Rylan has been hosting his own BBC Radio 2 show, Rylan On Saturday, since 2019, following Zoe Ball's role change at the station.

Rylan Clark's ongoing heartbreak after divorce as he battles 'sharp pain'
Rylan Clark has opened up about his divorce from ex Dan Neal and his struggles years after separation. Getting over a relationship can be extremely difficult, it's a mountain range of emotions on a stormy sea as both parties deal with their emotions and attempt to heal following the split. Whether or not marriage was involved, the end of a relationship often leaves both individuals wrestling with grief, confusion and the task of healing. This was one topic former X Factor contestant Rylan Clark explored with his guest Vanessa Williams on his podcast 'Rylan: How to Be In Love', during which they shared their personal romantic experiences. Rylan was married to Dan Neal for six years, from 2015 to 2021. Whilst The Devil Wears Prada musical star Vanessa has been married three times, the Express reports. Her marriages include Ramon Hervey II, followed by Rick Fox, and most recently Jim Skrip. Interestingly both Rylan and Vanessa shared a similar timeline in one of their marriages, with Vanessa marrying Jim in 2015 and divorcing in 2021, the same years as Rylan's marriage. Reflecting on the experience, Rylan admitted he wouldn't want to go through a divorce again, describing the emotional toll as deeply painful. "I've had to do it once, and once was enough for me," he confessed. "You still get that weird sharp pain every now and again." The 36 year old continued: "It'll be something so stupid like, 'Oh that glass looks like...' and it's, like, that little. I couldn't imagine going through that twice. I don't know how I'd fare." Rylan has previously opened up about his marriage to Dan, with the BBC Radio 2 presenter sharing the emotional toll of his marriage ending. Rylan met Dan whilst on set for Big Brother's Bit on the Side, when Dan was giving his eviction interview in 2013. The pair hit it off instantly, with Rylan previously revealing to the Guardian in 2019, that he knew Dan was the one from their first kiss. He said: "The first one I had with my husband Dan in late 2013. I just knew." Their marriage came to an end in 2021, with Rylan admitting his infidelity was the reason for their split. He revealed in his 2022 memoir that he had been unfaithful years before and decided to confess in May 2021, not expecting that Dan would leave him. On the same podcast with Vanessa, Rylan delved deeper revealing how the breakdown of his marriage affected his romantic life in unexpected ways. He admitted: "I have found that, since the breakdown of my marriage, if I've gone on any dates or started seeing people, when I've had sex with them, I lose interest pretty quickly." "I actually got pretty worried about a year or two ago, because I thought, hang on a minute, I don't remember this from BM, I call it, before marriage." "I don't remember having sex with someone, or orgasming with someone, climaxing, and then after that thinking, 'Oh, I'm just not bothered now'."

Rylan Clark's mother rushed to hospital with mystery illness
Rylan Clark has cancelled his Saturday radio show as he revealed to fans that his mother had been rushed to hospital. 'Mummy Linda isn't well sadly so I won't be hosting the show tomorrow,' the presenter announced in a post on social media on Friday night. He then thanked the emergency team who looked after his mother, highlighting that this was an urgent situation. 'Thank you to the emergency team at Princess Alexandra Hospital. Especially Tanya who really looked after my mum. 'Will keep you updated as she's on the mend. She's a trooper x,' he promised fans. Rylan updated fans but kept Linda's illness and symptoms private. The star was expected to host his BBC Radio 2 show on Saturday afternoons, which is his usual three-hour slot that sees him play music and chat to guests. Fans of the presenter have come to know his mother, Linda, after her numerous appearances with Rylan on Celebrity Gogglebox. Viewers loved her dry sense of humour and her quick quips and back and forth with her son. She first appeared on the show in 2019, but the duo took a break a few years ago because of Linda's health. In 2023, Linda had a horrific fall while on holiday in Marbella, suffering from a broken arm and leg during her first foreign holiday in 10 years. In 2017, Rylan revealed that his mother was battling Crohn's disease. 'My mum's had Crohn's disease and unfortunately something went wrong, so she's been in hospital for six weeks. 'They've looked after her so well, so I just want to say thank you and to people who have all been watching, she's very, very well, she's home now.' Years ago, Rylan spoke to the Daily Mail about how his mother was impacted by the disease: 'My mum lost her job because of the disease – it totally dictates her life. When she was diagnosed it really hit her hard because it wasn't picked up early enough. 'The earlier you pick it up, the easier it is to control. I grew up with the disease as well because she was ill – it is life-threatening. It's scary.' Earlier this week, Rylan and Linda appeared on This Morning and revealed that the Celebrity Gogglebox editors have had to cut out their 'career-ending' conversations. More Trending Linda told Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary: 'When he mucks about, I go, 'Please don't put that bit in.'' 'We're lucky that the editors clearly like us, because the stuff they've had to cut out is career-ending,' Rylan agreed. '[I say] 'Don't you dare say what I just said,'' Linda said. 'We're like, 'Yeah, can we not use that, please',' the Big Brother's Bit on the Side host laughed. Got a story? Rylan Clark says 'they won't listen' as he questions 'decision' by BBC bosses
Rylan Clark has presented his BBC Radio 2 show since 2019 when he replaced Zoe Ball, but he says he has pitched another idea to bosses at the radio station Rylan Clark says BBC bosses 'won't listen' as he questioned a 'decision' made by the broadcaster. The 36-year-old has been presenting his Saturday afternoon slot on BBC Radio 2 since 2019. He replaced presenter Zoe Ball when she moved to the station's coveted breakfast slot. Zoe, 54, has however since left the show and been replaced by Scott Mills. Rylan however continues to broadcast to the nation as well as fronting a series of podcasts for the BBC. He however hinted that he believes he would be perfect for another role at the station. Although he joked that his pleas to BBC bosses had so far fallen on deaf ears. He made the revelation as he flashed his geography skills at the weekend. During the bulletin, traffic presenter Sally Boazman asked: 'The A13 Stanford-Le-Hope bypass, eastbound, is partly blocked between Stanford-le-Hope and a place called Fobbing, does that exist? Is there a place called Fobbing?' 'Yeah, it's basically the Basildon turn-off,' responded Essex boy Rylan. He added: 'It's a little village on the outskirts of Corringham.' Sally responded: 'You should do the traffic really, shouldn't you?' To which Rylan joked: 'I should. I've been saying this for years but they won't listen.' Before working in radio, Rylan rose to fame when he appeared on the X Factor in 2012. He was eliminated in the quarter final as James Arthur went on to win the competition. Just weeks later however, Rylan was whisked away to the Celebrity Big Brother house. He won over the nation and was crowned the winner, ahead of reality stars Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag. He later went on to work as a reporter on This Morning as well as presenting Big Brother's Bit on the Side. Since 2018 he has commentated on the semi-finals of Eurovision alongside fellow Radio 2 star Scott. Earlier this year Rylan won a BAFTA for his documentary Rob and Rylan's Grand Tour, which saw him travelling around Italy with Rob Rinder. Rylan described the show as 'two gay guys, going through a divorce' after he split from ex-husband Dan Neal in 2021, and Rob split from his own husband in 2018. Speaking to the Mirror and other press, Rylan said: "The show, it happened at a really weird time for me. I wasn't fully over some of the breakdown of my marriage and stuff like that. I was flung with a judge. It was the best therapy I needed. "The journey, and I hate that word in telly, from when we meet and how raw I was at that time. It was like being an adolescent again and starting again but with cameras there. 'Everyone who worked on the show made it look exactly how it was. They didn't try to make it look good.' The pair will return with a follow-up series, Rob and Rylan's Passage to India, which is set for release in autumn.
