Rylan Clark's mother rushed to hospital with mystery illness
'Mummy Linda isn't well sadly so I won't be hosting the show tomorrow,' the presenter announced in a post on social media on Friday night.
He then thanked the emergency team who looked after his mother, highlighting that this was an urgent situation.
'Thank you to the emergency team at Princess Alexandra Hospital. Especially Tanya who really looked after my mum.
'Will keep you updated as she's on the mend. She's a trooper x,' he promised fans.
Rylan updated fans but kept Linda's illness and symptoms private.
The star was expected to host his BBC Radio 2 show on Saturday afternoons, which is his usual three-hour slot that sees him play music and chat to guests.
Fans of the presenter have come to know his mother, Linda, after her numerous appearances with Rylan on Celebrity Gogglebox.
Viewers loved her dry sense of humour and her quick quips and back and forth with her son.
She first appeared on the show in 2019, but the duo took a break a few years ago because of Linda's health.
In 2023, Linda had a horrific fall while on holiday in Marbella, suffering from a broken arm and leg during her first foreign holiday in 10 years.
In 2017, Rylan revealed that his mother was battling Crohn's disease.
'My mum's had Crohn's disease and unfortunately something went wrong, so she's been in hospital for six weeks.
'They've looked after her so well, so I just want to say thank you and to people who have all been watching, she's very, very well, she's home now.'
Years ago, Rylan spoke to the Daily Mail about how his mother was impacted by the disease: 'My mum lost her job because of the disease – it totally dictates her life. When she was diagnosed it really hit her hard because it wasn't picked up early enough.
'The earlier you pick it up, the easier it is to control. I grew up with the disease as well because she was ill – it is life-threatening. It's scary.'
Earlier this week, Rylan and Linda appeared on This Morning and revealed that the Celebrity Gogglebox editors have had to cut out their 'career-ending' conversations. More Trending
Linda told Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary: 'When he mucks about, I go, 'Please don't put that bit in.''
'We're lucky that the editors clearly like us, because the stuff they've had to cut out is career-ending,' Rylan agreed.
'[I say] 'Don't you dare say what I just said,'' Linda said.
'We're like, 'Yeah, can we not use that, please',' the Big Brother's Bit on the Side host laughed.

I nearly died in a freezer... and now I receive strange messages from dead people
A grief counselor from California has revealed how she has been able to see dead people since a childhood accident nearly killed her. Susan Grau, who refers to herself as an intuitive medium, told that she nearly died of hypothermia and lack of oxygen after getting trapped in a home freezer when she was only four years old. While screaming for her life, Grau said she experienced a life-changing vision, where beings of light took her to another dimension, where she heard the prayers of other children. Once she was rescued from the freezer, Grau was left with a startling power, the ability to see and hear beings who had just entered the spirit world. 'I just connected. I would lie in bed and I'd hear, you know, 'Wake up. I just died,'' Grau explained. For years, she kept quiet about her experiences, before finally learning that her ability to communicate with the dead meant she was a medium - someone capable of serving as an intermediary between the physical world and the spirit world. She worked in addiction therapy and grief therapy without revealing her abilities before eventually admitting what she had been seeing in a Facebook message to her family. 'I was highly sensitive and highly attached to people and the spirit world. I feel like I'm half in and half out,' Grau said. Near-death experiences (NDEs) are complex and not fully understood, but scientific research suggests they are likely neurological phenomena arising from specific brain activity during moments of critical illness or near-death. While various theories exist, a key aspect involves the brain's continued activity, even after the heart stops, potentially leading to altered states of consciousness and vivid perceptions. Grau's journey started when some fellow children told her to climb up into her garage freezer for some popsicles, but the freezer had unknowingly been unplugged. 'Because I was so young, I didn't recognize that it wasn't plugged in anymore. My mom had unplugged it. She was supposed to turn it towards the wall, and she didn't,' Grau explained. When she heard the door close behind her, everything changed, and Grau was now in mortal danger of suffocating or freezing to death. 'I heard the garage door thud, and it was silence. And I remember just screaming in terror,' she recounted. What happened next changed Grau's life forever. The medium was screaming for help and trying to free herself from the locked freezer when three bright lights appeared, and she felt herself being pulled out of her physical body. Grau said that she saw a 'light version of herself' in a group of three beings as her spirit left the freezer. The beings told her to stop screaming, and promised to get her mother, which calmed the four-year-old down. Grau recalled seeing a beautiful building with beautiful pillars, a cracked stairway, and a mysterious well in the middle of the room. She also remembered seeing words and hearing prayers that seemed to come from other children, saying: 'I'm going to turn 16. 'Please make my mom and dad get me a car,' and 'God, and my mom is sick. Please don't let her die.' Grau added that she travelled down a beautiful yellow road, which she called the 'yellow brick road' because it was the only way to describe it. She saw people dropping to their knees and saying, 'Dear God, you know, nothing's working the way I want it to. Everything's going wrong. Why don't things go my way?' Then the people vanished. Grau believed it was a message for her to understand later, that 'what you try to control controls you. What you run after chases you.' The medium said she moved through different dimensions, and the angels who rescued her from the freezer told her she had a huge amount to take in during this journey. Grau said she attempted to ascend to the top of a mountain where a beautiful being of light was waiting but she wasn't able to. That's when the being came to her instead. 'The minute I thought, I need to get there, I saw this gorgeous, powerful beam of light come to me. It came to me, and it was love, pure, pure love,' Grau explained. At that point the angel told Grau it was time to go back and that her mother was waiting for her. The light being added that she was going to go through a lot in life, and that Grau was going to help people and she needed to remember the things she learned during her journey to accomplish that task. At the same time, Grau said her mother began hearing a voice quietly saying, 'Your baby's in the freezer.' 'She said, all of a sudden she heard it loud, like a scream, 'Your baby's in the freezer!' And she ran outside, and she said she saw the door closed [in] the garage,' the medium revealed. When Grau was found, her skinned had already turned gray, her fingers were blue, and she fell forward onto the cement as she started to breathe again. That's when her new ability to see spirits manifested. 'I could see things around me. I covered my head and said, 'Go away. Go away. Go away.' And they didn't,' she explained. Grau said she kept seeing the beings all around her, but they were beautiful and they never harmed her, so she quickly stopped being afraid of them. Now a mother, grandmother, author, and inspirational speaker, Grau has continued to work with children who have had near-death experiences, using her skills as a medium to help with her counseling.

Toxic beauty product causes outbreak of deadly disease leaving patients ‘frozen'
Patients who have unlicensed botox injections are at risk of contracting a potentially deadly disease unfamiliar to many doctors. So far, 38 cases of botulism linked to anti-wrinkle injections have been recorded by the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA). Nicola Fairley ended up in A&E just days after a botox procedure done by her regular beautician at her home left her tired and unable to swallow food. Doctors believed at first she had suffered from a stroke. Nicola says she met several other patients with similar symptoms at the A&E in Durham, with one even requiring resuscitation. 'We all had problems with our eyes, some of us with our breathing. I couldn't swallow – they put me on nil by mouth because they were worried I would choke in the waiting room', she said. She was forced to wait for the anti-toxin to cure her disease as the hospital had run out from treating other patients. Nicola still has no idea which product was used for her treatment or how much of it, as her beautician has ceased all contact with her. Symptoms of botulism include weakness, blurry vision, difficulty speaking and feeling tired. The disease can be potentially fatal and is so rare that many doctors have yet to encounter it, with many having to ask other medical professionals in major cities for more information on how to treat it. Medics have warned of a potential outbreak for years, given the poor regulation of private clinics offering injections – a £3billion industry. A survey by ITV's This Morning found that half of respondents had sought medical help after having cosmetic treatments, while 15 per cent had ended up in hospital. Another patient, Kaylie Bailey was driving her son to a new school with her newborn baby when she had double vision at the wheel. She told the programme: 'I thought at one point I was going to end up going blind my eyes were so bad.' The mother was told by doctors that it was possible the injection had gone into her muscle by mistake, causing her eyelids to droop. After spending the 'worst week of my life' only being to see from the bottom of her eyes, Kaylie returned to hospital where her condition was eventually properly diagnosed. She later found out she had been injected with a product called Toxpia, which can be purchased for just £92 for two vials, around three to four times cheaper than a genuine botox product. Dr Zoe Williams said that a case botulism is something an average medic would expect to see once in a career. She said: 'When they're used properly.. the risks of getting botulism is extremely rare. But anybody can get their hands on fake products.' Dr Steven Land, an aesthetic specialist, described the botox industry as 'the wild west'. He told Sky News treatments can be offered by anyone, including those who could inject illegal and potentially lethal substances into patients, including rat poison. More Trending The situation is worsened by 'drug dealers' who have saturated the market with cheap products often on promotion, he added. While there a several voluntary associations for professionals within the aesthetics industry, there are currently no mandatory training requirements for practitioners in the UK. A licensing system for non-surgical cosmetic procedures was proposed by the previous Conservative government. The scheme would have required practitioners to obtain a permit to carry out certain procedures, as well as a separate licence for their medical practice.
