Amanda Holden sparkled as she opened the celebrations with a reading of an "Ode to McVitie's Chocolate Digestives".
She said: 'As a lifelong fan of eating and dunking Chocolate Digestives, it's an honour to celebrate the 100th birthday at this this pop-up experience – it's a must-visit for all my fellow choccy digestive fans!
'It's amazing how such a humble biscuit has brought joy to so many over the years.
'I remember when I first introduced them to my children as a little treat.
'Whether they were wrapped in foil for days out – they had to be rationed – or being dipped into a hot chocolate, they are still enjoyed by me and my girls.
"And here's a delightful surprise – I just found out I've been eating my biscuit upside down all this time!
"Turns out, it's meant to be enjoyed choc side down - who knew?'
At the heart of the experience is the Biscuit Bar, where visitors can sample never-before-seen creations made from a range of Digestives including White, Gold, Milk and Dark Chocolate.
Curated by Robert Craggs, the Michelin-trained head development chef for the biscuit maker, the menu showcases bold and unexpected flavour combinations.
This ranged from the 'Hot Pink', a fusion of White Chocolate Digestives, wasabi, raspberry and white chocolate, to the 'Loaded Gold' featuring hazelnut praline and salted caramel.
The best biscuit dunker in Britain has been found
The bar also features a personalisation station where fans can build their own dream Chocolate Digestives with a range of toppings.
Benazir Barlet-Bartada from McVitie's said: 'This 100th anniversary is not just about a biscuit.
'It's a national celebration of every biscuit break, every conversation, and every cherished moment we've all shared with Chocolate Digestives over the last century.'
To commemorate the momentous centenary milestone of the beloved biccie, limited-edition Chocolate Digestives merch, from t-shirts to socks and hats, will also be available to win.
Visitors will have the chance to 'spin to win' to get their hands on a prize, ranging from a piece of must-have merch, through to packets of biscuits.
There is also a collection of art pieces inspired by – and even made from – the tea-break staple.
Highlights include biscuit portraits of British icons, David Bowie, Sir Trevor McDonald and Dame Judi Dench, created by mosaic artist Ed Chapman and crafted from hundreds of mosaic fragments of the biscuit.
There's a unique work showing 25 of the greatest moments from the last 100 years, each depicted on individual Chocolate Digestives, brought to life on a biscuit using a delicate airbrushing technique.
Benazir Barlet-Bartada added: 'We're thrilled to offer our loyal fans this incredible experience as a way to say thank you for the unwavering support over the last century - here's to the next 100.'
The McVitie's Chocolate Digestives Experience is free to attend and open to the public from Friday 2nd May – Monday 5th May from 11AM – 7PM, at 44-48 Regent Street, Picadilly, W1, London.

Over the years, the brand has launched plenty of alternatives to the classic orange, but this one has been accused of taking the biscuit. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 2 Jaffa Cakes have a brand new flavour and it's caused a stir Jaffa Cakes have jumped on the Hot Honey trend and have unveiled the first-ever 'swicy' flavour. In case you are yet to become acquainted with the latest culinary slang, the term swicy is used to describe foods that are sweet and spicy. The new flavour combines the sweetness of honey with a chilli kick, which is sandwiched between the signature crackly dark chocolate and the famous sponge cake. The controversial hot cakes are exclusively on sale at Asda stores nationwide for £1.50 for a box of 10. They will be rolled out to other retailers from the end of July. Over on Facebook, the Hot Honey snacks have caused a stir, and some fans have bees in their bonnets. "I love Hot Honey and I love Jaffa Cakes but I think this will be a miss," one wrote. "Not a chance mate," added another. One person raised a good question: "They will do everything but not a white chocolate Jaffa Cake." But not everyone was against the latest addition. SWEET TOOTH 'A tangy twist', cry fans over 85p packs of Jaffa Cakes in a unique flavour "I am definitely intrigued," a Facebook user wrote. "Oh might have to try these," agreed a second, while another echoed: "That sounds like an acquired taste." On Dansway Gifts and Bargain UK's Facebook post, followers tagged friends to share the news. Some added heart-eye emojis to the comment section. Jessica Woolfrey, Marketing Manager for Jaffa Cakes, says: 'At Jaffa Cakes, we're known for doing things a little differently. "As the only cake in the biscuit aisle, it makes sense that our newest flavour brings an unexpected twist. "We're super excited to introduce Hot Honey Flavour to the Jaffa Cakes family - tapping into the viral 'swicy' trend with a perfectly balanced sweet-meets-heat flavour.' Last year, the brand unveiled another unusual flavour based on retro childhood sweets. The Cola Bottle flavour was the first ever non-fruit flavour since the first Jaffa Cake was made in 1927. It had a similar response from snackers, who either loved or hated them. McVities has also rolled out raspberry and cherry flavours - which have both gone down well with customers.

Amanda Holden 'goes naked' on radio after BGT dress Ofcom complaints

Amanda Holden took to the airwaves on Thursday morning alongside pal Jamie Theakston and appeared to be naked for their breakfast morning show on Heart FM Amanda Holden seemingly shunned any Ofcom complaints by appearing to be naked on air. The Britain's Got Talent judge's outfit on the ITV talent show's finale was criticised by some viewers, but she was clearly unfazed. She appears to have ignored any negative views - and looked to be completely nude on Heart FM's Breakfast Show's live stream. Her appearance even made her co-host Jamie Theakston do a double take. ‌ As she sat in her DJ chair on Thursday morning, she said on air: "Good morning, Mr Theakston. It is 6.30am and I've just caught myself on the camera and don't you think I look naked this morning? Sat behind here?" ‌ Jamie seemed to stumble in his response, replying: "Do you know what... You are wearing clothes, aren't you?" His comments amused his pal and co-host. She laughed as she said back: "I just looked and went, 'What? Have I forgotten to put my clothes on?'" The camera angle made it look like the 54-year-old had no clothes on, with only a chunky pearl necklace visible. She was, however, also wearing a pale pink strapless dress and was photographed outside of the London studios. As well as Amanda's BGT finale dress complaints following Saturday's show, fellow judge Alesha Dixon's attire was also criticised. The duo, alongside Simon Cowell and Bruno Tonioli, watched on as the public voted for magician Harry Moulding as their winner. In total, the female judges' outfits received 72 complaints to Ofcom. When contacted by the Mirror, Ofcom said they had received the complaints from viewers, who alleged the star's frocks were "too revealing for a family show". ‌ Amanda had stunned in her final outfit for the ITV talent competition after vowing to never tone down her fashion choices. It came after she had received a number of criticisms since the series started. She made sure to pull out all the stops for the star-studded finale, opting for a braless, plunging custom-made white silk gown from Saint Hendrix. She wore her hair slicked back into a bun with several bejewelled clips. ‌ Alesha meanwhile, turned heads in a sequin-strewn see-through jump suit, which revealed her underwear. It's far from the first time the pair's looks have been complained about on the show. In July 2017, Amanda wore a plunging see-through Julien Macdonald dress. It went on to be the most complained about TV moment of the year. The mum-of-two joked the incident was a 'national crisis' at the time. She teased in Closer magazine: "I'm always asked about the Ofcom complaints, but every outfit on the show is checked before I leave my dressing room, so I'm never worried. I think people should have fun with fashion!" She went on: "I had bits of fish wire underneath my breasts trying to hold that together... It's all quite laughable, but all everyone seems to talk about. It's been called another national crisis – but, oh no, I will not be covered up."

Amanda Holden in shock as she appears completely naked on breakfast show cameras

Amanda Holden questioned if she had 'forgotten her clothes' when she realised she looked completely naked on the breakfast show cameras on Thursday. The Heart Breakfast presenter, 54, joined her co-star Jamie Theakston for their usual weekday spot and had been wearing a peach strapless dress which was not visible in the shot. Welcoming their listeners, Amanda said: 'Good morning Mr Theakston! It is six-thirty, and I've just caught myself on the camera and don't you think I look naked this morning? Sat behind here.' Jamie replied: 'Do you know what? You are wearing clothes, aren't you?' Amanda clarified: 'I just looked and went 'what? Have I forgot to put my clothes on?'' 'It does look like that,' Jamie laughed. Welcoming their listeners, Amanda said: 'Good morning Mr Theakston! It is six-thirty, and I've just caught myself on the camera and don't you think I look naked this morning? Sat behind here' However, it would come as no surprise if Amanda was naked as the star is no stranger to flashing the flesh in the studios. In April 2024, she stripped naked during the Heart Breakfast Show. The confident star put every inch of herself on display as she removed her clothes for a life drawing session, that saw artists, as well as her radio co-hosts Jamie and Ashley Roberts have a go at drawing her. As Amanda dropped trousers on camera, Jamie explained: 'Slightly distracting... Amanda's in the corner of the studio without any clothes on - which is a first not for her of course - but the rest of us.' Ashley interjected: 'She looks amazing!' As Amanda was presented with the images of herself nude, she seemed delighted with the outcomes. Yet Jamie was quick to put an end to the bizarre segment as he called out 'can you put a top on because it's slightly distracting?!' The confident star put every inch of herself on display as she removed her clothes for a life drawing session, that saw artists, as well as her radio co-hosts Jamie and Ashley Roberts have a go at drawing her Amanda's appearance on her Heart Radio show comes after Britain's Got Talent sparked more Ofcom complaints after she and Alesha Dixon opted for 'revealing' dresses to close out the series. Viewers watched the remaining acts battle it out for the top spot and saw magician Harry Moulding win a chance to perform at the Royal Variety Performance and £250,000 last Saturday night (31 May 2025). However, what got people talking were judges Amanda and 46-year-old Alesha's outfits. According to The Mirror, telly regulator Ofcom received 72 complaints over their ensembles. The publication was told that they were deemed 'too revealing for a family show'. Amanda looked incredible as she donned a white floor-length gown with a plunging neckline. The star scraped her hair back in an elegant, slick bun and opted for a smoky eye for the final show. Meanwhile, Alesha rocked a sheer glittery shirt dress with a black bra and matching underwear. It comes after Amanda defiantly hit back at Ofcom complaints over her daring outfits. The judge often steals the limelight on the long-running ITV show with her very glamorous outfits. She is known for sporting some bold ensembles while taking to the judging panel alongside Simon Cowell, Alesha, and Bruno Tonioli. Her looks have raised eyebrows and have sparked more than 1,000 Ofcom complaints over the years, but Amanda has now firmly brushed off the criticism. Amanda said she works closely with her stylist on creating each look and insisted she loves every single outfit she has worn on the show since its launch in 2007. She told Closer magazine: 'What you see on TV, I really love. 'I'm always asked about the Ofcom complaints, but every outfit on the show is checked before I leave my dressing room, so I'm never worried. 'I think people should have fun with fashion!' It is not the first time Amanda has defended her fashion choices in the talent competition after coming under fire from some viewers. In 2022, she said: 'Fashion is about taking risks. I encourage everyone to have a little fun and be a little daring. I'd be bored playing it safe.'
