Meet Leighton Meester's New Character In ‘The Buccaneers' Season 2 Trailer As Nan Tries To 'Let Go' Of Guy
The full trailer for Season 2 of Apple TV+'s period drama The Buccaneers has arrived, and it teases more sisterhood, romance, love affairs, bold declarations, bright gowns, breathtaking landscapes and a plot twist or two.
The second season welcomes series newcomer Leighton Meester, whose character Nell can be seen at the end of the clip asking Christina Hendricks' Patricia St. George to introduce her to Kristine Frøseth's Nan St. George.

'Theo and I are happy,' Nan says at the beginning of the clip. 'I'm in this for life.'
This declaration comes after Nan had to make a difficult decision and marry Theo (Guy Remmers), Duke of Tintagel, so that her flame Guy Thwarte (Matthew Broome) could help Nan's sister Ginny (Imogen Waterhouse) escape from her abusive husband Lord James Seadown (Barney Fishwick).
'Everything before 'I do' is now irrelevant,' Theo's mother, the Dowager Duchess of Tintagel (Amelia Bullmore) tells Nan in the woods, sternly advising Nan to be faithful to her husband. 'All Theo needs to know is that he has a dutiful and loving wife, but Annabel, anyone can be a wife. You are…'
'A Duchess,' Nan completes. 'I really want to make this version of my life work. I have to let Guy go.'
The clip features Chappell Roan's 'Good Luck Babe,' continuing the tradition established in Season 1 with a modern soundtrack of mostly women artists.
Cue Guy's voiceover perspective as he and Jinny escape somewhere bright and sunny with Jinny's baby.
'Everything has changed except the way I feel,' he says as he looks at the newspaper headlines, which tell him what is happening in Nan's world, advertising her honeymoon with Theo.
'Theo thinks this is real,' Nan tells her mother. 'He thinks I chose to marry him.'
'You did the bravest thing I have ever known,' Patty tells Nan. 'And saved your sister.'
Nan fiercely stands up to Lord Seadown both one on one and at a dining table full of guests.
'No man should be allowed to own his wife,' she asserts.
Cut to a triumphant walk by Nan in a bright red dress with a bold hairstyle as guests turn heads. 'Happily Ever After' flashes in bright neon blue across the long train of her dress.
More musical moments and needle drops in Season 2 will include Taylor Swift, as well as songs from Lady Gaga, Sabrina Carpenter, Gracie Abrams, Clairo, Sharon Van Etten, St. Vincent, Bleachers and The Last Dinner Party. The original soundtrack for season two celebrates the return of executive music producer Stella Mozgawa and features Empress Of's new single 'Little Secret' out today with the trailer along with new music from Suki Waterhouse, Madi Diaz, Holly Humberstone, Kacy Hill, Jade Bird, Emily Kokal of Warpaint and more.
The second installment of the show, inspired by Edith Wharton's unfinished novel, also reunites returning stars Alisha Boe, Aubri Ibrag, Josie Totah, Mia Threapleton and more.
The Buccaneers returns to Apple TV+ Wednesday, June 18, 2025 with one episode followed by one new episode every Wednesday through August 6, 2025.

EXCLUSIVE: Filming has been suspended on Apple TV+'s untitled brothers comedy series from Skydance Television starring and executive produced by Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson, Deadline has learned. According to sources, production in Austin, TX was paused late last week, with the cast, which includes fellow stars Holland Taylor, Natalie Martinez and Brittany Ishibashi, sent home. The development, which involves the departure of showrunner David West Read, comes as eight of the series' 10 ordered episodes have been shot. Veteran comedy showrunner Lee Eisenberg (Jury Duty, Little America), who most recently created and executive produced Apple TV+'s acclaimed limited series Lessons In Chemistry, is in negotiations to come on board as showrunner for the last two episodes and likely reshoots, I hear. The makeup of the brothers comedy series is unusual — its stars/executive producers McConaughey and Harrelson are real stakeholders as the project is loosely inspired by their real-life longtime friendship. The untitled brothers series stars Harrelson and McConaughey in a heartfelt, odd couple love story revolving around their strange and beautiful bond. Matthew and Woody's friendship is tested when their combined families attempt to live together on Matthew's ranch in Texas. The cast also includes series regulars Oona Yaffe, Highdee Kuan, Nolan Almeida, Ella Grace Helton and Noah Carganilla. Skydance Television is producing the series for Apple TV+. West Read, McConaughey and Harrelson executive produce alongside David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Matt Thunell for Skydance Television and Bill Bost and Jeremy Plager. Brett Goldstein has emerged as one of the many beloved characters in the Apple TV+ hit series Ted Lasso. He portrays the popular player-turned-coach Roy Kent, who has a gritty personality and doesn't love small talk. It seems Goldstein's disinterest in small talk during the show may translate to real life in some ways, specifically when it comes to being asked questions about Ted Lasso's future From the sound of it, Goldstein didn't exactly love fielding the constant questions on the topic of whether Ted Lasso would even return for a Season 4, before the news was officially revealed. He made that much known during a recent interview with Variety. When the topic of Goldstein no longer having to address the questions about the show's future when they arose, it sounds like they were tougher on him than the current queries he gets. "That is such a relief," Goldstein said of no longer having to answer questions about the show's future. Goldstein, who plays Louis on the hit show Shrinking, is also an executive producer and writer for the show. While he's in the same boat as the rest of the Ted Lasso cast, having to remain tight-lipped on Season 4, he did call it "exciting" to be back with the rest of the show's actors. "Obviously, I can't tell you a single thing about it, of course, but we're working on it, and it's good," he says. "It's exciting to have everyone back together."
