
97-year-old pedestrian killed in crash in Prince Edward County
The crash happened on County Road 3 west of Weese Road in Carrying Place around 5:30 p.m., a news release said.
The unnamed man from the county was pronounced dead at the scene.
A police investigation is ongoing and police are asking anyone with information, especially footage, to contact them.
The crash happened on the county's north shore, about 30 kilometres northwest of Picton.

Teens sought after stolen SUV crashes in Langford B.C.
Police are now seeking the public's help identifying the suspects as the investigation continues. (Handout) Mounties in Langford, B.C., are searching for a group of teenage suspects after a vehicle was allegedly stolen and crashed into a retaining wall, causing significant damage. A statement from the West Shore RCMP says officers responded to the collision at approximately 11 p.m. Thursday. Officers reported that a stolen grey 2004 GMC Jimmy had slammed into a brick wall in front of an apartment building in the 2600 block of Peatt Road. 'The vehicle stopped short of crashing into the multi-unit dwelling at this location,' said Cpl. Nancy Saggar, in the statement. 'However, it did cause significant damage to the retaining wall and the vehicle itself.' Witnesses reportedly told investigators that several suspects – described as group of between two and four youths aged 15 to 20 – were seen exiting the vehicle after the crash and running south on Peatt Road. Police are now seeking the public's help identifying the suspects as the investigation continues. Anyone with information or video of the area taken between 10 p.m. and 11:15 p.m. is asked to contact the West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264.

Witnesses sought after elderly women struck in Burnaby, B.C., hit-and-run
Two elderly pedestrians are in hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in Burnaby, B.C., Thursday night. Police were called to the area of Willingdon Avenue and Union Street just before 9:30 p.m. to find two women, aged 73 and 85, had been hit by a vehicle that fled the scene, Burnaby RCMP said in a statement. According to BC Emergency Health Services, three ambulances responded to the scene and paramedics provided treatment to two victims who were taken to hospital in a 'serious but stable condition.' York police break up fentanyl operation
York Regional Police arrested two suspects and seized fentanyl, methamphetamine, cash, and a loaded firearm from a Toronto residence on Wednesday. Police say they began an investigation in April after officers received reports of fentanyl trafficking across the GTA Police say that officers eventually identified suspects involved in the production and trafficking of controlled substances following the months-long investigation. On Wednesday, officers executed a search warrant at a Toronto residence. The raid resulted in the seizure of a more than a kilogram of fentanyl, a quantity of methamphetamine, cash, a loaded firearm and ammunition, police say. Dumar Monteith, 31, and Shakir Baptiste, 30, both of Toronto, were arrested. Both suspects have been charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and various other offences, including three firearms charges.
