The Jonas Brothers' music 'has aged very well'

Perth Now15-07-2025
Nick Jonas thinks The Jonas Brothers' music has "aged very well".
The chart-topping pop group - which includes Nick and his brothers, Kevin and Joe Jonas - are currently preparing for their 20th anniversary tour, and Nick loves that the band have evolved with their fans.
Speaking to People, he explained: "It's aged very well. It's one of those things where we've looked out and seen the fan base really evolve and change and there's sort of a generational aspect to it now when you think about it.
"The people that were our age back when we were teens touring and making music are our age now and they've grown up and they're bringing their kids to the shows, but their parents that brought them when they were in their youth still want to come."
Nick, 32, loves seeing how different groups of fans connect to particular songs.
The singer - who is married to movie star Priyanka Chopra - said: "It's great to look out there and see such a really interesting mix and to see that the songs they respond to are a reflection of that."
The Jonas Brothers announced plans for their JONAS20: Living the Dream Tour earlier this year.
The brothers - who have also enjoyed success as solo artists - admitted at the time that they "can't wait" to hit the road in August and perform in front of their loyal fans.
They said in a statement at the time: "We're beyond excited to hit the road and celebrate 20 years of music.
"Our fans have been with us through every chapter, and this tour is our way of honouring them, the memories we've made, and the ones we'll create together. We can't wait to make this our biggest, most unforgettable tour yet."
The band will play 42 dates in the US and Canada on their JONAS20: Living the Dream Tour.
The Jonas Brothers will begin the North American tour at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on August 10, and the tour will conclude at Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut on November 14.

Actress Nicole Kidman thanks this everyday skincare product for her age-defying looks

Australian actress Nicole Kidman reveals sunscreen is the key to her daily skincare routine. The age-defying star thanked her years of dedicated SPF use for keeping her skin healthy and radiant. The Practical Magic 2 star announced on July 25 her new role as Global Brand Ambassador for Japanese skincare and beauty brand, Clé de Peau Beauté. Kidman, 58, says it's a brand her make-up artist has used on her for years. One of her favourite products from the line is the UV Protection Cream SPF 50+. 'I went to Wimbledon and this is what I wore — it's so good,' Kidman told PEOPLE. Raised in Sydney, on the Northern Beaches, the Hollywood star grew up with sunscreen as a daily essential. In an interview with Vogue, she revealed her rules on skincare. 'It's the one thing I teach my girls,' Kidman said. 'For my girls, I'll use like a 30, but I like the SPF 50 for me, which is the one that I use. 'I also love the sheer zinc because for me it's such a great protection for my nose and for my shoulders and when I'm working.' The mum-of-two also shared that building her confidence is what helps the actress feel good on the inside. 'I am raising girls in their teens — you realise the importance of empowering other women,' Kidman told PEOPLE. 'The way in which when you are empowered, that sort of inner confidence actually shows through, and to me that's very beautiful.' The new campaign also features Kidman's youngest daughter, Faith Margaret, 14, whom she shares with her husband, singer Keith Urban. 'We flew out together and we were able to just have fun on the set,' Kidman reflected. 'It was just sort of a magical, dreamlike experience, which I hope when people see the campaign, they get. 'She's my baby, and it was a sweet little way to capture her at 14. 'It was one of those things where you say, 'This isn't a job. This is actually a gift'.' Kidman and Urban's eldest daughter, Sunday Rose, 17, recently launched her modelling career. Earlier this year, the rising star landed her first major campaign, fronting a new luxury advert for Italian fashion brand Miu Miu. Loading Instagram Post Kidman added she feels most beautiful when she's with her daughters. 'I love doing hot yoga right now, so I feel really good about an hour after that,' she said. 'My daughters and I, we do it together, and we call it the glow up. 'We look red-faced and ragged when we come out, but about an hour later, wow.' Shop more SPF products in Australia:

Jamie Lee Curtis admits she's 'very much like' Janet Leigh

Jamie Lee Curtis thinks she's like her mom "in many, many, ways". The 66-year-old actress is the daughter of screen idols Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh, and Jamie admits that she could see a lot of herself in her mom, who passed away in 2004, aged 77. The Hollywood star - who has been married to Christopher Guest since 1984 - told People: "I tried to do everything not to be my mother. And, of course, I'm very much like my mother in many, many, ways. "My admiration for her has swelled as my disappointments have lessened. I know that my mother was so proud of me and and what I've achieved, that she respected my husband's work and was thrilled to be a grandma." Despite this, Jamie thinks her mom would've "loathed" her appearance in Everything Everywhere All at Once, the 2022 comedy-drama film. The actress explained: "My mother's been gone a long time. And today I have a freedom to be myself that my mother's generation would never have allowed. My mother would've been incredibly upset at Everything Everywhere All at Once and how I looked." Jamie believes her mom's generation was more image-orientated than her own. And she thinks that Janet would've disliked her appearance in The Last Showgirl, too. The veteran actress - who remains one of Hollywood's most bankable stars - explained: "Her generation was so much about your body and what you look like. And the beauty. The beauty is just who she was. That's what her life was. "My mother was literally jaw dropping. But I think that would've been very hard for her to see me with my tummy sticking out. Or in [the film] Last Showgirl, for her to see me in that dressing room at 66 years old. That really would've upset her. "I know her very well. I have accepted myself in a much bigger way than I think she felt she was allowed to, through her generation."

Billy Joel's wife was 'unimpressed' by his musical talents

Billy Joel's wife was "very unimpressed with the whole Billy Joel thing" when they first met. The 76-year-old star tried to woo Alexis, 43, with his musical talents during the early days of their romance, but she was completely unimpressed by his efforts. In the new HBO documentary series Billy Joel: And So It Goes, he explains: "I remember the first time I met Alexis, we went to my house, and I wanted to play the piano for her. It's a form of communication for me." Billy assumed that Alexis would be wowed by his award-winning talents. However, she was unmoved when he played the piano for her. Billy - who married Alexis in 2015 - said: "I'm playing that and she's completely unimpressed with it, totally. She couldn't care less what I'm playing and I'm thinking, 'Oh OK, this isn't working.' "She was very unimpressed with the whole Billy Joel thing, which impressed me. Because I thought, 'OK, maybe she's just here because she likes me, not the Billy Joel guy.'" The music star - who has daughters Della, nine, and Remy, seven, with Alexis - made a conscious effort to develop their relationship away from the spotlight. He explained: "We had a couple years together before we had kids and he had completely stopped doing shows. We travelled everywhere. We did a motorcycle trip from Maine down to Long Island, we were on boats 24/7. We were in Europe. We had so much fun." Meanwhile, Billy recently admitted that he was hesitant about committing to his HBO documentary. The music icon revealed that he was reluctant to reflect on some of the "stupid stuff" he's done in the past. He told People: "I've resisted this kind of thing for so long. I'm sick of talking about myself. Some of the stupid stuff I did, that's painful to talk about. (But) they asked me for some thematic guidance. I said, 'Just tell the truth.'" Billy initially just wanted to get the documentary "over with" because he doesn't enjoy talking about himself. The Uptown Girl hitmaker said: "My goal was to get it over with. "When I do interviews, people just ask you about yourself and you get a little self-conscious about it eventually. It's almost embarrassing. "When you're talking about your personal life detached from the material ... I suppose there's a little bit of wariness involved."
