Recapping the Boston Celtics' offseason moves so far
Unfortunately for Celtics fans, Stevens' methods mean that the upcoming season will likely be a tough one. Boston isn't expected to be among the contending teams in the Eastern Conference, and they may struggle to end the campaign as a .500 team. However, there does appear to be a method to Stevens' approach, in that if some of the new additions impress, they will bring a higher return on the trade market.
If you need a recap on everything the Celtics have done this summer, the "Cyro Asseo" YouTube channel recently published an in-depth recap of the team's moves, its depth chart, draft pick status and overall blueprint for the future. The video also reiterates every incoming and outgoing talent since the start of the summer, to help fans keep track of who is, and isn't, on the roster moving forward.

Chisholm group formally takes control of the Boston Celtics
The ownership group led by Bill Chisholm has officially taken control of the team, and has circulated a release to that effect in tandem with the team. After the NBA's Board of Governors unanimously voted to allow the sale of the team to Chisholm's group, the $6.1 billion purchase of the first phase of the deal is now on the books, with the remainder set to be paid by 2028, with former majority owner and lead governor Wyc Grousbeck remaining with the Celtics as team CEO and alternate governor. Per the release, Chisholm will serve as the team's lead governor, with fellow group member Aditya Mittal joining Grousbeck as an alternate governor. Grousbeck will also be "running day to day operations with Chisholm and the existing basketball and business management teams." Bruce Beal, Andrew Bialecki, Dom Ferrante, Rob Hale, Mario Ho, and Ian Loring and global investment firm Sixth Street are all members of note in the investment group. "This truly is a dream come true for me and my family," said Chisholm. "I feel so fortunate to be here as part of this new investor group, who are accomplished, driven people who care deeply about the Celtics and the Boston community." "On behalf of our group, I am thrilled to partner with Wyc, Brad Stevens and Rich Gotham to move this outstanding organization forward," he added. "We are committed to building on the legacy of the Celtics and raising banners, and I can't wait for the team to get back out there this fall." "The Celtics have been my life's work for the past 23 years," said Grousbeck. "This incredible ride is now continuing. I am fired up to be shoulder to shoulder with Bill as we pull every lever to go after another banner. There is nothing better than winning." I tried Bregman's Beer. Here's what it's like.
Bregman was in Faneuil Hall for the launch of Bregman's Beer, the latest Sam Adams release brewed in collaboration with the Red Sox third baseman. 'I wanted to partner up with Sam Adams and give something back to the fans here in Boston,' says Bregman, who arrived here this offseason after spending most of his career in Houston. 'They've embraced me as the new guy, and we wanted to create a beer that they can drink while watching Red Sox games.' Bregman is affable and good with the media, and is by all accounts one of the leaders in the Red Sox clubhouse. A likeness of his face adorns cans of Bregman's Beer ('they did a pretty good job'), which is another in a series of Samuel Adams athlete collaborations. Last fall, Celtics guard Derrick White was also given his own Boston Beer Co. brew. Steven Senne/Associated Press Advertisement 'I'm not the brains behind the operation,' says Bregman, when asked how much input he gave. 'The masters here at Sam Adams crafted an incredible beer. It's a bold pale ale with a citrus flavor to it. It's crisp, it's light, and it's something I'd enjoy watching some sporting events with. 'Had a lot of fun creating it.' Bregman, who can opt out of his Red Sox deal after this season, faced several questions about his future on Thursday, despite telling reporters he was going to leave contract discussions until the offseason. And so it was with an undercurrent of uncertainty that Bregman heaped praise on his new home of Boston. Advertisement 'We've loved it, loved every second of being here,' said Bregman. 'Fenway's been electric this year, we've been playing some winning baseball. Being able to go out in the community, go out to eat, and enjoy everything about Boston has been incredible. 'We're right where we wanna be. We gotta continue to fight, keep pushing, and hopefully get into that postseason, and who knows maybe chase the division too.' As for the beer itself, Bregman's Beer is a 5.8 percent ABV pale ale, which is a little on the higher side for those types of brews. Bregman was right in that it's a bold beer, with some notable spiciness from the hops leading into a crisp finish. The beer doesn't drink heavy, despite its ABV, and the aromatics of grapefruit and orange rind are pleasant. Bregman's Beer is available at the Sam Adams downtown Boston taproom and Jamaica Plain brewery in 4-packs and on draft while supplies last. Gary Dzen can be reached at
