The Jaguars placed linebacker Dennis Gardeck on the active/physically unable to perform list, the team announced Saturday.
Gardeck, who signed with the Jaguars last month, can return to the 90-player roster once he passes his physical.
He tore the ACL in his right knee on a punt play in a game for the Cardinals against the Chargers last October. It is the same knee he injured in 2020. Gardeck finished his seventh NFL season with 20 tackles, six tackles for loss, three sacks and an interception.
Gardeck made the Cardinals' roster as an undrafted free agent out of Division II Sioux Falls in 2018.
He totaled 156 tackles, 17 sacks, two interceptions, seven pass breakups and three forced fumbles in seven seasons in Arizona.

Falcons agree to terms with WR DJ Chark

The Falcons are signing veteran wide receiver DJ Chark, NFL Media reports. Chark visited Atlanta on Friday. He visited with the Bears last month but Chicago did not sign Chark to a deal. Chark, 28, spent last season with the Chargers but appeared in only seven games because of a hip injury. He finished the season with four catches for 31 yards and a touchdown, playing a total of 105 offensive snaps. In 2023, Chark caught 35 passes for 525 yards with five touchdowns for the Panthers. The Jaguars made Chark a second-round pick in 2018, and he eclipsed 1,000 yards in 2019 for the Jaguars to earn Pro Bowl honors. In 76 games, with 51 starts, Chark has 216 career receptions for 3,100 yards with 24 touchdowns.

Former NFL head coach spends time as consultant with Jaguars' offensive line

A former NFL head coach has spent time as a consultant with Shaun Sarrett and the Jaguars' offensive line recently. A former NFL head coach has spent time recently as a consultant, working with Jacksonville Jaguars' offensive line coach Shaun Sarrett. According to ESPN's Michael DiRocco, former Tennessee Titans' head coach Mike Munchak worked with Sarrett in a consulting role over five days earlier in the week. DiRocco added that Munchak and Sarrett worked together for five years while with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Munchak was the Titans' head coach from 2011 through 2013. As a player, Munchak made nine Pro Bowls at guard, two first-team All-Pros, and is in the Hall of Fame. Improved offensive line play this season for the Jaguars is a must. It's a message that Liam Coen has delivered since arriving in Jacksonville. In order to accomplish that, GM James Gladstone has reshaped this unit by making six additions between free agency and the NFL draft. This is a much more versatile unit, and the Jaguars are embracing competition this summer as they search for their best starting five configuration. Consistent success for any offense begins with the offensive line providing a run game to lean on and time in the pocket for the quarterback.

Cardinals to debut 'Rivalries' uniforms in Thursday night game vs. Seahawks Week 4

On August 28, we will find out the uniform that the Cardinals will wear vs. the Seahawks in Week 4. The Arizona Cardinals were one of the teams selected this season to debut a new uniform as part of the Nike "Rivalries" initiative in 2025. The eight teams in the NFC West and AFC West will wear a new "Rivalries" uniform for a game. The Cardinals announced, to no one's surprise, that their rivalry game will be their Week 4 Thursday night game at State Farm Stadium against the Seattle Seahawks. We also know when the uniform reveal will happen — August 28. The video suggests that there will be some sand theme to it. One report has said the uniforms will be sand/tan and red, and that the helmet could be different, too. The tease suggests the logo could have a different look than the tradition red. We will know in a little more than a month. Get more Cardinals and NFL coverage from Cards Wire's Jess Root and others by listening to the latest on the Rise Up, See Red podcast.
