Jason Isaacs Says ‘The White Lotus' Season 3 Was the ‘Saddest' Role He's Ever Had: ‘I Don't Know If I Can Do This'

Jason Isaacs considers his 'White Lotus' character arc to be his 'lowest point' emotionally as an actor. The 'White Lotus' Season 3 star detailed during 'CNN News Central' what it was like to get into the headspace of a patriarch who almost poisons his family to hide his financial ruin. (Don't worry, they all lived.)

'That's the lowest point I've ever been, you know, as an actor – not as an actor, I mean, it's a magnificent show – but that's one of the saddest things I've ever done, a man who is about to – spoiler, cover your ears, cover the screen – kill his entire family and kill himself,' Isaacs said. 'And when I read the scripts, I thought, I don't know if I can do this. Like, I don't know how, if I can do it convincingly, believe, or if I can believe myself that I would ever do that. And watching that, it just reminded me of how unbelievably sad I was that day.'
He added, 'I mean, people think acting is pretending. You decide to pull a face or decide to do something with your voice. It's not really. You just try and be the thing.'
Of course, Isaacs' onscreen family is spared, to varying degrees of audience criticisms of the Season 3 finale. Isaacs recalled how even he and his fellow ensemble co-stars were 'sobbing' while watching the bloody final episode.
'We had a finale event on Sunday where we watched it with a big audience, and we all held each other's hands a lot of the time,' Isaacs said. 'And then we were kind of sobbing and holding each other a bit like the end of summer camp at the end. I don't know how much it was to do with the story, how much it was to do with the fact that we've been on this extraordinary adventure, and now we return to normal life.'
He particularly applauded Carrie Coon's now viral monologue about the meaning of life. 'Yes, I love the three women,' Isaacs said of his favorite storyline. 'I thought Carrie Coon on Sunday night, when she gave that speech, theirs is the least melodramatic story. There's no, you know, drugs or murder or, you know, suicide. But just the notion that time is going by and that she, you know, the people she's known forever are more important to her than anything else. She broke everyone's heart. The whole audience was sobbing.'

The entire experience was nothing short of magical for Morrison. 'It was incredible. I loved the show from the start,' the 'Big Stan' star gushed. 'I've been a fan. The fact I even had a shot at meeting with them and working on the show was a dream come true. That cast is incredible. The showrunners are incredible. Every episode kind of feels like its own film.' 'There's something different and loaded going on in every single episode, so as a filmmaker, it's also very exciting,' she continued. Getty Images Morrison also would love to direct 'Barbie' star Margot Robbie one day. In February, Morrison spoke to The Post about how directing 'Yellowjackets' came about. 'As they were going into Season 3, they had some slots open up and were willing to meet with some new directors,' she explained. 'I had a meeting with [producer] Drew [Comins] and his company, and he saw my passion for the show and saw that I was no joke into it. So, as I finished four, they asked if I would also do seven. So then I kind of turned right back around and came and did seven.' Episode four followed the plane crash survivors putting Coach Ben (Steven Krueger) on trial for kidnapping Mari (Alexa Barajas) and burning down their cabin. Advertisement 'The two worlds are so aesthetically different. And it's very different dealing with veteran adult actors who've been in this industry for 30 years for some of them. And then these younger kids, who now feel like veterans after three years of doing this show but are definitely newer to the scene. But I guess aesthetically, it did feel like two different shows,' she recalled. For Morrison, she was able to bring her vision to life with both the young stars and adult actors. But also their incredible ability with casting,' she mused. 'They have picked such specific and interesting people, and they bring things to these characters that no one else could bring. 'I've had enough memes of me that, you know, there was a couple that were about my body,' the 'Malibu' singer told Monica Lewinsky on an episode of her 'Reclaiming' podcast earlier this week. 'That was in 2013 and people were putting my head on, you know, different, very unattractive things. And I still see that when I put on a bathing suit to this day.' 'I wear very ― you would never think ― very modest bathing suits,' Cyrus shared. 'And we actually just went on a trip. It was a whole girls trip and everyone else had on a string bikini except me. Photo by John Angelillo/UPI | License Photo June 13 (UPI) -- Julianne Moore discussed the possibility of a sophomore season for her Netflix series Sirens on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon Thursday. The dark comedy, which also stars Meghann Fahy and Milly Alcock, amassed some 16.7 million views within four days of its arrival on the streamer. "Fans love it so much, they want it to come back, for Season 2," Fallon said. "It's crazy. Yeah," Moore responded. When asked about whether or not Season 2 could be on the horizon, Moore said, "It's not up to me. It's up to our writer Molly Smith Metzler... But the last time you saw me, I was on a ferry leaving town, and I don't know how she'd get back." The show follows Simone (Alcock) and her "trauma-bonded" relationship with her wealthy employer Kiki (Moore). Series creator Metzler says the women "really need something from each other. And what they need from each other shifts through the show." The series also stars Kevin Bacon and Glenn Howerton. Moore also stars in the upcoming Apple TV+ film Echo Valley opposite Sydney Sweeney.
