All Upcoming DCU Movies & Shows Set up By Superman
Unlike previous DC attempts, Gunn's new era of DCU storytelling includes unified continuity that spans films, TV, animation, and more. Fans speculate that the rebooted universe could restore DC's golden era of superhero entertainment.
David Corenswet's Superman features DCU superhero cameos, sparking fan theories about upcoming DCU movies. Here's what's coming in the franchise's next era over the following years.
John Cena (who also makes a cameo in Superman) will return with Peacemaker Season 2 on August 21 on Max. Gunn has previously hinted that Season 2 of the series might feature several cameos.
In an interview with EW, the auteur also hinted that both Superman and Peacemaker will play pivotal roles in leading to the 'bigger story.' Season 2 of Peacemaker will feature Frank Grillo returning as Rick Flag Sr.
Superman viewers have already gotten a sneak peek at the rambunctious dynamic between Supergirl (Milly Alcock) and Krypto. The chaotic duo will return in the 2026 film, which is directed by Craig Gillespie and written by Ana Nogueira.
The movie promises to be a lighthearted adventure for Supergirl, who travels across the galaxy with her adorable dog, Krypto, to celebrate her 21st birthday. However, while visiting different planets, she encounters Ruthye Marye Knoll (Eve Ridley). That meeting leads to Supergirl's new 'murderous quest for revenge.'
Guy Gardner (Nathan Fillion), the broody superhero, will be back in Lanterns, releasing in 2026. The upcoming Max series will feature Hal Jordan and John Stewart.
Gunn describes it as a 'True Detective-style mystery' where cosmic mythology and Earth-based investigation will blend into a compelling story. Reportedly, Gardner will not play the lead role. (Source: The Wrap)
Lex Luthor's powerful henchwoman, 'The Engineer,' will return in The Authority. Previously, Gunn teased, 'The Authority is a very different kind of superhero story. They are basically good-intentioned, but they think that the world is completely broken and the only way to fix it is to take things into their own hands.' (via Deadline)
DC and Warner Bros. have previously announced a short film series based on Superman's foster dog, Krypto, who belongs to Supergirl. The short series will be 'fun and goofy,' Gunn revealed at the February 21 DC Studios press event.
Like Lanterns, another DCU project, Waller, is also in development. The upcoming project focuses on Waller navigating fallout from Creature Commandos and Superman as her authority weakens amid rising metahuman activity and alien incursions.
Some other movies and shows from the DCU that fans expect to see in the future include Justice League, Mr. Terrific, and Jimmy Olsen. Corenswet's Superman has introduced the Justice Gang, which includes Mister Terrific, Hawkgirl, and Guy Gardner's Green Lantern.
Later, Metamorpho joins the team as they fight in the Boravia-Jarhanpur conflict. With enough hype around the 'Justice Gang,' DC fans are certain that a new Justice League is in the making.

James Gunn shuts down rumors on 'The Batman: Part II' and this highly anticipated upcoming DC movie
Another day, another instance of James Gunn revealing news about the DCU on Threads. This time, it's about "The Batman: Part II" and the still untitled "Teen Titans" movie. Yesterday (Aug. 4), a fan took to the social media network to get the scoop on the latter DCU Project. "@jamesgunn," user @starship7567 asked Gunn on Threads. "Is it true that the teen titans movie will consist of the 2003 roster, but with Damian Wayne as robin?" About an hour later, Gunn came back with an unequivocally blunt reply: "Anything you've heard about that movie is made up or a guess. No one in the world knows anything about the concept for the story except four people." Sensing opportunity, another fan replied to Gunn, "What about Hush in 'The Batman Part II'?" "Again," Gunn replied, "everything you've heard is a total guess or made up." This exchange on Threads wasn't the first time Gunn has made news in the past week regarding the live-action "Teen Titans" movie. Last week, when promoting the upcoming "Peacemaker" season 2, user @ifalcao_ asked Gunn about the project. "James," they asked, "have you read the script for Ana Nogueira's Teen Titans?" Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. HBO Max gives you tons of hit shows and movies, from HBO Originals to DCU shows and movies and more. Again, Gunn's response was characteristically blunt. "It doesn't exist," the DC Studios co-CEO replied. "She's been on WW for a while." This reveal caused some confusion. The news that Nogueria was attached to a new "Wonder Woman" movie was made public just before San Diego Comic-Con. But back in February, Gunn and DC Studios co-CEO Peter Safran confirmed to the media that there was a "Teen Titans" script drafted by Nogueira (h/t Variety). User @kritian_k26 pointed out this previous reporting from February to Gunn in a reply, which Gunn then clarified. "I don't understand," Gunn responded. "We said the script's not finished there. I asked Ana to move to WW to finish that first and she did." So, it seems that yes, a "Teen Titans" script exists. And no, it's not a finished script, and you or I don't actually know what's in it. Now, what remains to be seen is if Nogueira will return to the project at some point, if "Teen Titans" is on the back burner for good. The Real Controversy of ‘Superman' Is a CGI Dog
Kelly Woods can't stand Superman's canine sidekick, Krypto. The 58-year-old retired truck driver grew up watching the Superman cartoons in the 1970s. 'When Krypto first came into the cartoons, it ruined it for me,' said Woods. He felt the creators were trying too hard to add unnecessary characters.
