Kelly Clarkson makes huge career decision after death of ex-husband

Daily Mirror2 days ago
Kelly Clarkson has decided to focus on her children following the shock death of her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock, who passed away earlier this week following a cancer battle
Kelly Clarkson has made a huge career decision following the death of her ex-husband. The singer, 43, who has enjoyed major success with her eponymous talk show over the last six years but had a host of guest presenters like Brooke Shields and Andy Cohen step in for her towards the end of the most recent season, is understood to be "devastated" following Brandon' Blackstocks's death to skin cancer at the age of 48 although they've been divorced for two years.

And now insiders have claimed that Kelly, who has River Rose, 11, and nine-year-old Remy with Brandon, is taking time out of her career so she can focus on spending time with her children. A source told UsWeekly: "It has been draining, exhausting, emotional [and] devastating A big part of it was making her schedule available for transporting the children to visit Brandon, and all of the emotions that came with this difficult time. Kelly is a workhorse.

"Hard work is all she knows. She hates disappointing people, truly. The thing that kept her going was knowing how many people depend on her, like her crews and employees. Her kids come first, and she will find a way." It comes after Sharon Osbourne breaks down in tears at Ozzy's funeral in heartbreaking scenes.

Brandon Blackstock's daughter revealed pregnancy a month before dad died
The insider noted that Kelly, who shot to fame as the inaugural winner of American Idol more than 20 years ago, 'loves' her career but noted that 'nothing compares to a situation' like the one she has been presented with now. According to the insider, Kelly will make a comeback to her NBC television show at some point in the fall.
A representative for the family told PEOPLE in a statement that Brandon had been diagnosed with cancer over three years ago. They said in a statement: "It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away."Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family. We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family's privacy during this very difficult time."

Just one day after Brandon's passing was announced, sources close to the star explained that it had been for the benefit of her children that Kelly, known for her songs Since U Been Gone and Behind These Hazel Eyes, had always been protective and watchful of Brandon in his final years. One insider told People: "When she found out that he was sick, she remained protective of him for their sake. Kelly has always tried to keep things classy. It became clear earlier this year that Brandon was not doing well. She's been devastated for the kids."
Earlier this week, Kelly postponed her Las Vegas residency after announcing that Brandon had been taken ill. Taking to Instagram, she wrote: "Unfortunately, I need to postpone the remainder of the August Studio Session dates in Las Vegas. "While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children's father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them. I am sincerely sorry to everyone who bought tickets to the shows and I so appreciate your grace, kindness and understanding."
Brandon, whose stepmother was country legend Reba McEntire, also had two children from a previous marriage. In 2022, he became a grandfather after his eldest daughter gave birth to a son.

Brandon's father Narvel was Kelly's previous manager, with the former couple first meeting at a rehearsal for the Academy of Country Music Awards in 2006. After divorcing his first wife, Brandon reconnected with Kelly at the Super Bowl before the pair married in October 2013.
The talent manager, who managed Blake Shelton, took on Kelly as a client after their wedding, with Kelly telling Marie Claire in 2018: "I wouldn't have hired Brandon to be my manager if I didn't see first-hand how great he is at that and how much he cares about Blake.
"And the way that [Blake's] career has blown up, I would have hired Brandon regardless. He's really talented at what he does and his mind really does work in a completely different way.

Brooklyn Beckham fans spot snub in Nicola Peltz vow renewal snaps

Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz have shared loving snaps of them renewing their vows – but his followers have spotted what they deem to be a massive snub to dad David. The eldest Beckham son, 26, married Nicola, 30, in 2022 after dating for three years – and three years on from their wedding day, they returned to pledge new promises to one another. And the pair took to Instagram to share the adorable pictures from the big day, with Brooklyn and Nicola getting back into their wedding outfits to pledge their love to one another once more. But it wasn't long before Brooklyn's followers spotted that not only were Victoria and David absent, but that Nicola's dad Nelson officiated the ceremony. In the very final picture of the gallery, Brooklyn and Nicola stood opposite each other as Nelson read from a piece of card he was holding in both his hands. Commenting, Instagram user @Mary.031987 said that the 'last picture will be a stab in your father's heart' and added that the apparent feud between the Beckhams was 'very sad'. @Gwenidu69 called them 'beautiful pictures' but add that 'it's a shame that your family is missing, it's sad,' while other fans praised Brooklyn for what they see as him 'putting [his] wife first'. Speaking to People about renewing his vows, he said: 'To be honest, I could renew my vows every single day with her. I think the most important thing that someone can do is find that person that they're going to spend the rest of their life with. 'It definitely shapes you as a person. Yeah, it was really, really cute. It was really fun,' adding that his new vows were much longer than his ones from three years ago. Brooklyn's post comes just 48 hours after mum Victoria welcomed fans into her and husband David's welcome getaway to Saint-Tropez amid the apparent feud. The fashion designer and former Spice Girls singer, 51, jetted off to the French Riviera alongside her ex-footballer partner, 50, earlier this month. Victoria and David were spotted sharing a loved-up moment aboard their hugely expensive yacht last week, and Victoria gave fans a more intimate glimpse into their Mediterranean escape. Tagging the family in a gallery with the caption 'Kisses', Victoria shared 14 photos from the family holiday – their sons Cruz, 20, and Romeo, 22, and daughter Harper Seven, 14, also joined them on the trip. Several of the sweet snaps showed the superstar family embracing one another and enjoying a relaxing time on the luxurious south French coast. Other pictures showed that David and Romeo are looking more and more like each other as the years go by, while the last photo in the gallery saw Cruz donning one of his dad's old football shirts. Absent from the holiday was Brooklyn, who had just spent the week also vacationing in Saint-Tropez with wife Nicola ahead of renewing their vows. Social media sleuths deduced that Brooklyn and his parents were days apart in their respective trips, meaning that they only missed each other by less than a week. Harper and Romeo were spotted by a harbour in Saint-Tropez, almost in the exact same spot where Brooklyn had recently posted videos of himself cooking. However, as the Beckham siblings were pictured arriving in France, Brooklyn had reportedly already departed for the United States, where he's currently based. The near miss came after it was revealed earlier this month that Brooklyn no longer followed brothers Cruz and Romeo on social media, with the latter two having also unfollowed Brooklyn's wife Nicola. An insider told The Sun: 'Brooklyn had no idea until he read about it online. It's possible Romeo and Cruz blocked them, which would make it appear as him no longer following the brothers. 'He and Nicola certainly didn't unfollow them or block them – they're as confused as anyone else. The first they heard about it was when it was being reported on.' More Trending Those rumours had been talked down over the last three years, but when Brooklyn and Nicola missed David's 50th birthday celebrations in May – and Brooklyn speculation started again. The exact reason behind the reported rift is yet to be revealed, but it has been claimed by insiders that Victoria is 'desperate' for things to be patched up between her once-close family. 'Victoria hates to think about her family being so divided, especially with it involving one of her children,' an source told Metro last month. Belfast's DUP Lord Mayor says next year's Fleadh will have ‘a few twists'

The celebration of traditional Irish music, song and dance took place in Wexford last week with a handover ceremony at the conclusion of the festival on Sunday. Speaking on the TG4 broadcast, the DUP's Tracy Kelly acknowledged that Belfast will have 'big shoes to fill' in 2026. 'From what I have been over the last couple of days, Belfast has big shoes to fill,' the Lord Mayor said, as she was quizzed by musician and presenter, Doireann NíGhlacáin. '[It's] absolutely fantastic what I have witnessed here today and last night, and we do have big shoes to fill, but we are looking forward to it. 'It is still in the planning stage. But yes, there is lots of different traditions in Belfast's music, so we are really looking forward to having a little bit of a twist to the Fleadh this year.' Offering advice to the DUP councillor was CEO of Wexford County Council, Eddie Taaffe. 'Start planning early, it is a huge job, but we will give them every help that we can,' he advised Ms Kelly. 'And we have had two fantastic Fleadhs here in Wexford, a huge team behind it, a mountain of work, but we are really privileged to do it. 'We would have every confidence that, from what we have seen from the people in Belfast, it will be a fantastic Fleadh.' During the event, Ms Kelly accepted the Fleadh harp on behalf of the city in line with the long-running tradition which signifies a gesture of friendship and goodwill. Organisers Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann announced Belfast as the next host back in March. The last time the historic celebration was hosted in NI was in 2013 when it drew around 430,000 people onto the streets of Londonderry and hailed as the 'biggest ever' Fleadh. A world record was broken at the time, when 2,500 people – including Eamonn Holmes – took part in Riverdance in Ebrington Square. 'Having hosted the Fleadh in both 2024 and 2025, Wexford will prove a very hard act to follow, but Belfast is delighted to take up the baton and really ramp up our preparations for Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2026 – let the countdown begin,' the mayor said. 'I am delighted and honoured to receive the Fleadh harp for our year ahead, on behalf of the citizens of Belfast. 'The festival gives us an opportunity to showcase our city as a superb cultural destination and we're ready, along with our city partners, to give everyone a huge welcome. Belfast History Explained: Who was Mary Ann McCracken? 'The benefits that the Fleadh will bring to Belfast can't be underestimated. We're expecting hundreds of thousands of people to travel for a week of music, fun and friendship, and it will be a momentous event for all our residents, visitors and businesses, with plenty of opportunities for everyone to come along, get involved and celebrate our people and our city, together.'

Cheryl Burke's unusual food habit that helped her lose 41lbs

Cheryl Burke has opened up about her weight loss journey as she shared the diet that she followed to help her shift the pounds, as well as her current exercise regime Cheryl Burke has opened up about her impressive weight loss journey, detailing how she slimmed down from 150lbs to 109lbs. And she said it included regular helping of one food. ‌ The star of Dancing With the Stars said that a particular meal plan played a crucial role in her shedding weight. Speaking with US Weekly, she shared that at her 'heaviest' she was 150lbs, but now she's enjoying increased energy levels and a much lighter weight. ‌ The dance pro expressed satisfaction with her current weight and mentioned that she's stopped "trying" after reaching her desired goals. She also highlighted that daily weigh-ins became a "problem" for her, so she ditched the habit. ‌ What did Cheryl Burke eat to lose weight? Cheryl maintains a diverse diet full of nutritious foods to keep herself going. Her day often includes a good dose of one unusual item - liquorice - and a calorie-rich morning shake that has more "than any of my meals that I'm eating." She also explained that she habitually drinks a matcha from Peet's Coffee every morning alongside a "warm pretzel bread". She admits: "I'll get it because it's just the best thing in the world. I'm very lenient." ‌ Additionally, Cheryl has embraced a meal plan from ZEN, a delivery service that brings fresh, ready-to-eat food right to her doorstep. This service supplies her with about 1,200 to 1,400 calories per day, featuring an array of dishes and nibbles such as oatmeal with fruit for breakfast, pita, hummus, chips, and salad. She said: "It's not diet food, it's real food." ZEN, an acronym for Zero Effort Nutrition, is a meal delivery service that promises to deliver 'organic & farm-to-table, health-conscious meals' directly to your doorstep. The service offers a range of meal plans tailored to various goals, such as weight loss, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, or following a vegetarian diet. ‌ Cheryl revealed that she started using ZEN around five or six years ago as a healthier alternative to her usual drive-thru meals. She noted that this made a significant difference, especially as she had become an "emotional eater" despite being an active dancer. She shared: "I would only eat at night. Now I don't even remember the last time I had fast food; it's just not something I'm craving." ‌ Cheryl also commended the meal service for bringing more "balance" to her diet. She cautioned against 'starving' herself as it was counterproductive and didn't align with her body goals. She also candidly discussed her personal self-consciousness. She admitted that she used to avoid eating in front of others due to fear of being labelled overweight, particularly in front of her fit colleagues from the show. Cheryl's exercise regime As for her exercise routine, although Cheryl no longer trains as a dancer, she maintains a modest fitness regimen to stay healthy. This includes walking her dog a "couple of miles a day" and regularly using her treadmill, which she also utilises while creating beauty content for social media. She added: "I actually can only edit content on a treadmill. It's the craziest."
