Samsung One UI 8 Watch Update Now Rolling Out For Galaxy Watch Ultra Users
Samsung One UI 8 update is now coming to Galaxy Watch models in the market that were announced with the Watch 8 series.
Samsung Galaxy Watch users are now getting the latest One UI 8 update this week, but only if you have the Watch Ultra model from the company. The Wear OS 6 version was announced at the I/O 2025 and Samsung unveiled the new Galaxy Watch 8 series with this One UI update, which is now coming to the year-old premium Galaxy smartwatch as well.
The One UI 8 beta program has started by the company but the company's new One UI update for the Galaxy Watch promises a host of new tools along with training and health features for the users.
Samsung is offering its advanced health features on the Galaxy Watch Ultra with the One UI 8 Watch version. You get the new vascular load and antioxidant index monitoring tools that help you measure sleep quality and any kind of antioxidants that are there in your skin.
The premium Watch Ultra also offers a running coach, which as the name suggests, helps you build a running plan, offering specific goals and even make you give test runs to see your improvements.
Besides these, you get the Now Bar on the wrist which gives you a shortcut for stopwatch, control camera and customise the feature to your needs. The interface also includes multi-info tiles that makes it easy to access certain information on the main screen itself.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic get the One UI 8 Watch out of the box, while the Watch Ultra versions are getting them now. Samsung even launched a new blue colour variant of the Watch Ultra that has the same design and features but comes with One UI 8 version. The older Galaxy Watch series 5 and 7 versions should be offered the One UI 8 update in the next few months.
The company also managed to beat Google by bringing Android 16 to its latest Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 models that were announced earlier this month.

Tesla signs $16.5 billion chip supply deal with Samsung
Tesla has signed a $16.5 billion agreement with Samsung Electronics to source chips, a move that could support the South Korean firm's contract chip manufacturing unit, which has been under financial pressure, reported Reuters. The deal comes as Samsung, the world's largest memory chipmaker, seeks to increase its share in the foundry market where it trails rivals such as Taiwan's TSMC and South Korea's SK Hynix. According to Samsung, the agreement will run through the end of 2033, although it initially withheld the client's name citing confidentiality. Reuters, citing three sources familiar with the matter, confirmed Tesla as the customer. Manufacturing in Texas Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that Samsung's new semiconductor facility in Taylor, Texas, will manufacture Tesla's next-generation AI6 chips. 'Samsung agreed to allow Tesla to assist in maximizing manufacturing efficiency,' Musk said in a post on X. 'This is a critical point, as I will walk the line personally to accelerate the pace of progress. And the fab is conveniently located not far from my house,' he added. Musk also noted that the $16.5 billion figure was a minimum estimate and that actual output could be significantly higher. Samsung's Taylor facility had faced delays and lacked major clients, leading to a postponement of ASML chipmaking equipment deliveries, according to a Reuters report from October. The start of production at the plant has been deferred to 2026. Ryu Young-ho, a senior analyst at NH Investment & Securities, said the order was significant for the Taylor fab, which had "virtually no customers," although it may represent a relatively small portion of Samsung's overall logic chip revenue annually. Strategic implications While a timeline for AI6 chip production was not disclosed, Musk had earlier said AI5 chips would be produced by the end of 2026, suggesting AI6 might follow in 2027 or 2028. Tesla's current AI4 chips, which power its Full Self-Driving system, are produced by Samsung, while TSMC is expected to produce the AI5 chip. The deal also highlights Tesla's shifting supplier strategy and its involvement in chip design and production efficiency. Samsung's foundry business, which manufactures logic chips for clients, currently holds just 8% of the global market compared to TSMC's 67%, according to Trendforce data. Pak Yuak, an analyst at Kiwoom Securities, estimated that Samsung's foundry losses exceeded 5 trillion won (approximately $3.6 billion) in the first half of the year. The Tesla deal is expected to reduce some of these losses. It is not yet clear whether the agreement is linked to ongoing trade discussions between South Korea and the United States. A South Korean trade ministry official told Reuters he was not aware of the deal being part of any negotiations.

Andhra Pradesh CM Naidu invites Singapore entrepreneurs to invest in state
Singapore, Jul 29 (PT) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has invited Singapore-based investors and entrepreneurs to participate in India's development drive and listed a wide range of projects planned and being implemented in his state. Addressing investors at the 'Andhra Pradesh – Singapore Business Forum and Partnership Summit Roadshow" on Monday, he highlighted a wide range of opportunities in the ongoing development of infrastructure such as ports and airports, and the creation of Quantum Valley in Amravati. Naidu said Andhra Pradesh would contribute 160 GW of green energy to India's target of 500 GW of green and clean energy by 2030. Addressing over 500 investors on the second day of his visit to the city state, the chief minister said an Arcelor Mittal steel plant and a Google operation bentre are to be set up in Visakhapatnam. He categorically listed out the development of industrial corridors that are being led by Indian conglomerates, including Tata Group's Ratan Tata Innovation Hub. 'I am requesting Singapore entrepreneurs to participate in the development. We need more investments, and we need more and more entrepreneurs. We need your support for the development, and India is the best and a safe place for investment," remarked Naidu. At the event, he spoke widely about deep tech, electronics, semiconductors, green hydrogen, logistics, ports, airports, inland waterways, pharma, biotechnology and tourism.
