Real reason Conor and Megan ‘went missing' from Love Island's most savage vote of the series

THE real reason that two former Islanders 'went missing' from Love Island's most savage vote of the series has been revealed.
Love Island star Megan Forte Clarke and her love interest Conor Phillips were axed from the villa after a public vote at the end of last week.

The public voted who they thought were the most compatible couple and those who weren't the most compatible, were left at risk of being dumped.
Megan and Conor were the first couple to be axed before the vote reared its ugly head again.
On Sunday night, 18 former Islanders returned to the villa to vote out one couple from the new bottom two, which comprised of Angel & Ty and Meg & Dejon.
Fans quickly noticed the couple's absence and questioned why they did not take part despite still being in Spain and appearing on After Sun.
The Sun can now reveal the real reason why Megan and Conor were absent from casting a vote with the other Islanders.
"They were dumped as part of the public vote that also decided who was in the bottom two couples - so it wouldn't have been fair to let them vote," a source told the The Sun.
"The vote was only for people who had been axed in previous dumpings, not the current one."
When fans noticed the couple's absence during last night's show, one fan said on X: "But why Megan and Conor didn't come back to vote??? They were still in Spain because they were on aftersun."
"Why didn't Conor & Megan vote?" asked another.
"Conor and Megan not being there to vote was tactical move from the producers. They wanted Meg and Dejon to leave," speculated a third.
Love Island fans spot Shakira's 'smug' reaction as Meg and Dejon come under fire - did you?
While a fourth echoed: "I think the producers kinda rigged this though because if Conor and Meg had been given a vote Ty and Angel would more than likely have been dumped."
Megan was an OG Love Island girl before being brutally dumped midway through the series.
But she was brought back as a returning bombshell last month.
When she was axed from the villa the first time around, Megan, who had just started to get to know Conor, said she would wait for him on the outside.
But after her exit, Conor continued to get to know several other girls.
Conor first matched with Helena before moving on with Toni, who he claimed was more his type.
Then, he got to know Shakira more after the pair had been close pals.
When Shakira broke the news to Conor that she thought they would be better as friends, Megan made her epic return and the rest was history.
In tonight's final, the remaining couples will go up against one another for a £50K cash prize and the title of Love Island 2025 winners.
The remaining couples are: Toni & Cach; Shakira & Harry; Angel & Ty; and Yasmin & Jamie.

Inside bitter Connor Maynard & Charlotte Chilton paternity row after explosive new allegation revealed

The drama rivals any script written for BBC's hit show The Traitors following yet another plot twist - with questions being raised over a "mystery man" present at the first DNA test JUST when you thought the row between Charlotte and Conor Maynard couldn't get anymore toxic - the Sun can reveal the most explosive development so far. Five months after pop star Conor claimed he had 'proof' he was not Penelope's dad, we can reveal a new jaw-dropping allegation has come to light - which Charlotte says casts major doubts about the accuracy of the results. 12 Conor Maynard and Charlotte Chilton took a selfie following their night together 12 The Traitors star Charlotte Chilton with her baby daughter Penelope Credit: Instagram / charlchilts 12 The 34-year-old gave birth last year to her first child but has been embroiled in a paternity battle Credit: Instagram / charlchilts 12 Pop star Conor has told the world he is not Penelope's father Credit: Shutterstock Editorial In a document seen by The Sun, the BBC star claims an unidentified male was present when Conor's sample was collected. Charlotte, 34, also alleges the singer switched testing locations at the last minute and that her own DNA was not taken - something which improves the accuracy of the paternity test. She now wants a court-ordered DNA test to determine the parentage of the little girl, who was born in October. However, Conor's rep insists the pop star has already offered to do a second paternity test outside of court - despite the original cheek swab being done in the presence of Charlotte's own legal representative, who watched the sample being taken. It was carried out by specialist company AlphaBiolabs, which is accredited by the Ministry of Justice. A source told The Sun: 'Charlotte was blindsided when Conor released the paternity result claiming he wasn't Penny's dad. 'Charlotte consulted lawyers and despite suffering shocking abuse from online trolls, was advised to remain silent. 'She's now ready to fight for Conor to take another paternity test. 'She claims the previous one should be discounted because it was not conducted under the controlled conditions agreed. 'For months, Charlotte's gone to great lengths to keep this out of court and in the public domain. 'Charlotte just wants this whole sorry saga over with and for the truth to come out. Her number one priority has always been, and always will be, Penny.' Charlotte has hired Coleen Rooney's Wagatha Christie lawyer, Paul Lunt, to be on standby - braced to handle potential legal threats from the TikToker. A spokesman for Conor Maynard said: 'It's baffling. Conor's already agreed to another paternity test, so there's no need to drag this through the courts. "Once a new test has been done hopefully Charlotte can finally put this behind her once and for all'. Charlotte was set up with Conor by her Traitors co-star Harry Clarke after a champagne-fuelled wrap party of Claudia Winkleman's BBC murder mystery game last year. Pansexual Charlotte, who recently divorced her wife Laura, claimed the singer turned on her weeks later when she said she was expecting his child after their fling. The BBC star, who has polycystic ovaries, spontaneously entered The Traitors on a whim after her marriage broke down following seven agonising miscarriages and failed IVF. She was banished in episode nine with Harry being crowned the winner and scooping £95,000 by betraying his co-star Mollie Pearce. 12 Charlotte pictured when she was five months pregnant Credit: Dan Charity 12 Harry, who was crowned the winner of the Traitors and scooped £95,000, introduced Charlotte to Conor Credit: BBC 12 Charlotte became known for her striking red lipstick on the BBC show Credit: Eroteme She went home with Conor after partying at celebrity nightclub Raffles with his younger sister Anna Maynard who is Harry's long-term girlfriend. But things turned sour six weeks later when Charlotte discovered she was pregnant. In an explosive tell-all interview with The Sun earlier this year, Charlotte lashed out at 'immature man-child' Conor, alleging he disowned their unborn baby girl. 'He told me, 'I'm not ready to be a dad. It's nothing against you, Charlotte, but even if we'd been together three years, I would be the exact same. I do not want to have a child. That's why I haven't got a dog'', she recalled. On Father's Day this year, Conor introduced fans to his Bernadoodle puppy he adopted with girlfriend Kitty Bertrand, saying: 'Welcome to the family little Bernard.' 12 Conor has moved on with new girlfriend Kitty Credit: Instagram @conormaynard 12 The pair recently adopted a Bernedoodle puppy Credit: Instagram / conormaynard The couple moved in together weeks after Conor claimed he wasn't the father of Penny's child, saying he was 'on to a new chapter...' Meanwhile pals say Charlotte has been going through an 'exhausting fight' behind the scenes, having always been adamant about who her daughter's father is. Conor's reps insisted the private results taken by DNA testing company Alpha Bio Labs on March 11, 2025, have "clearly drawn a line under the matter", adding: "It is very difficult to understand how the location of the paternity test would have changed the results. "To be clear, this test was conducted by a registered nurse in the presence of Charlotte's legal representative.' He later went on ITV's This Morning, telling viewers: "I was instantly painted as a dead-beat dad. My comments on my social media were all about that. "When the result came in I can't even begin to explain to you the feeling." Who is Conor Maynard? Not familiar with the pop star? Read on... Conor Paul Maynard was born on November 21, 1992 in Brighton. He is an English singer-songwriter and record producer. His biggest chart hits are Can't Say No and Vegas Girl. He has worked with the likes of Labyrinth and Rita Ora. Conor's brother Jack is a YouTuber who appeared on I'm A Celebrity back in 2017 before quitting the jungle amid a fallout over homophobic and racist tweets. The mum of one is yet to speak publicly, but told close friends she will do 'whatever it takes' to get to the truth. It's believed Charlotte will pay for the paternity test herself. The self-employed recruitment consultant is said to be looking for child maintenance payments from the Can't Say No singer. 12 Penny was born in October 2024 12 Charlotte, pictured with her ex wife of seven years Laura Credit: Supplied 12 The Traitors star seen with her baby bump after her 20-week scan Credit: Instagram Conor broke his silence on the baby drama ordeal, saying it was one of the "worst years of his life" as his mental health spiralled. In a further blow, Conor revealed he had been rushed to hospital after a health scare left him "screaming in pain". The 32-year-old pop star said a bulging disc in his back has left him unable to work and fears surgery is the only option, aside from managing the pain, for long-term recovery.

Conor Walsh: Selected Piano Works review – Quietly persuasive, impressively original of the late Mayo musician

Conor Walsh: Selected Piano Works      Director : Keith Walsh Cert : 12A Starring : Conor Walsh Running Time : 1 hr 5 mins There is a great deal about minimalism in this calming documentary about the late musician Conor Walsh . Over a series of interviews the softly spoken subject explains, in appropriately halting language, that he takes the same restrained approach to life as he does to music. Much of the composition was done in the rundown hotel his family once ran in Swinford, Co Mayo . He tells us how 'one hook leads to another' until, ultimately, the first hook is discarded and a fluvial repetition emerges. For the most part, however, his analysis focuses on what he and his music don't do. Late on, he notes that Dustin O'Halloran, of the influential ambient masters A Winged Victory for the Sullen, has synaesthesia, a condition that causes him to see music as colours. Walsh then notes that this is something he himself does not actually experience. READ MORE Few listening to the music will be much surprised by his confessed early influences: Erik Satie, Philip Glass, Steve Reich, Aphex Twin. (It would be astonishing if he hadn't mentioned those musicians.) The sense throughout is that Walsh would rather not have to explain how his art works. [ 'It's a shame he's not around to see this' – an album found on Conor Walsh's laptop Opens in new window ] This could prove frustrating, but Keith Walsh 's film subtly works these conversations into a wider aesthetic that hums and throbs to rippling piano refrains. Often surprising images – tears upon a cheek, a hand by a stretch of barbed wire – suggest emotional connections without demanding the music be fitted to unintended interpretations. The director made his film for the Arts Council 's Reel Art scheme, and, like so many fine projects in that strand, it feels no pressure to conform to conventional expectations. Much of Selected Piano Works (the title is a clue) functions as a soothing audiovisual staging of the works themselves. Some feature piano alone. Others insinuate electronic seasoning. Many of those sequences could work in a gallery-based setting, but the film is also a touching study of a fascinating, if allusive, personality. Walsh's is the only voice we hear, and although he is elliptical about the music, he has much to (gently) tell us about a life lived under the cultural radar. He died , at the desperately young age of 36, from a heart attack, in 2016. One can hardly imagine a better memorial than this quietly persuasive, impressively original project.
