The drama between Jonathan Kuminga and the Golden State Warriors has taken a new turn as the young forward seems ready to leave the Bay Area behind for a new adventure. The team is trying to reach an agreement with the Congolese player, but he is not making it easy for them.
Initially, the Warriors were looking for a sign-and-trade situation with him, but he is not willing to make it happen just yet.
Jonathan Kuminga is not ready to reach a deal with Golden State Warriors
Jonathan Kuminga does not want to play under star players like Stephen Curry and Draymond Green. Things especially took a downturn after Jimmy Butler joined the
Golden State Warriors
and Kuminga lost his place on the team. And with all the ongoing drama, the relationship between the player and the team has gone a little sour.
NBA
reporter Brett Siegel spoke on the matter, saying:
'Kuminga is not budging and continues to passively let it be known he does not wish to return to the Warriors.
If he is to be back with Golden State, nobody expects it to be a long-term marriage, and Kuminga will make sure it's on his terms."
Kuminga doesn't want to stay with GSW but the team does want to keep him and see what the future holds for the young player as a part of the collective. Whether the team wants his wish or the player does, it's still a matter yet to be decided.

But until recently, he had not lost his place to be a "Warrior for life." Kuminga has been a big fan of late Los Angeles Lakers player, Kobe Bryant, who played for the Lakers his entire career, and just like Kobe, he wants to be a one-team man in his career.
"I got drafted here. They always – the people are great, they always take care of me, they're always helping me grow as a person, so obviously, I would love to just be one of the Warriors for life and just never change. My favorite player was a Laker for life, so obviously I would love to be a Warrior for life."
Although with recent updates, it's hard to decipher how much of that still holds in today's time. Looks like Kuminga is not so sure about staying in this team and his place among the players he once held dear to him.

Cam Jordan tells Bengals to ‘empty the bag' for Trey Hendrickson after back-to-back 17.5-sack seasons

Cam Jordan urges Bengals to lock in Trey Hendrickson (Image via: Getty Images) The Cincinnati Bengals face a crucial decision regarding star pass rusher Trey Hendrickson, who remains in a contract standoff with the team. While Hendrickson continues his hold-in, one former teammate is publicly urging the Bengals to lock him down with a well-deserved extension. For Cincinnati, the situation could prove pivotal to both their short- and long-term success. Cam Jordan calls on Bengals to pay Trey Hendrickson During an appearance on Up & Adams, veteran defensive end Cam Jordan made his stance clear: the Bengals cannot afford to mishandle Hendrickson's situation. Jordan, who played four seasons with Hendrickson in New Orleans, emphasized that Cincinnati should pay him what he's worth before it's too late. 'He needs to be paid,' Jordan told Kay Adams. 'Don't let a guy like Trey Hendrickson walk. They've never had a pass rusher like Trey Hendrickson over Cincinnati.' Jordan referenced the lucrative contracts of elite defenders such as T.J. Watt and Myles Garrett, noting that Hendrickson's production places him in the same category. Despite those comparisons, Hendrickson remains without the extension he is seeking. Why Trey Hendrickson deserves Bengals extension The numbers speak for themselves. Hendrickson has delivered back-to-back 17.5-sack seasons, totaling 35 sacks over the past two years. That level of production has placed him among the league's most dominant pass rushers. For a Bengals defense striving to keep pace with AFC heavyweights like the Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens, Hendrickson's presence is critical. Cincinnati may have invested a first-round pick in defensive end Shemar Stewart, but as Jordan pointed out, proven production carries more weight than potential. 'I get it, you picked up a first-rounder, but you have something proven. When you have something proven, you add to that,' Jordan said. Cincinnati cannot risk losing Trey Hendrickson in AFC title chase The Bengals have made significant investments in their offensive core around Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase, but maintaining balance requires equal commitment on defense. Hendrickson's consistency as a pass rusher is rare, and his ability to disrupt opposing quarterbacks makes him indispensable. Also Read: Dillon Gabriel shows promise in Cleveland Browns' preseason debut despite costly mistakes If Cincinnati hopes to remain a legitimate contender in the AFC, extending Trey Hendrickson must be a top priority. As Cam Jordan emphasized, players of Hendrickson's caliber do not come around often, and losing him would create a void the Bengals may not be able to replace quickly. Dillon Gabriel shows promise in Cleveland Browns' preseason debut despite costly mistakes

Dillon Gabriel keeps Browns' QB competition open (Image via: Getty Images) Dillon Gabriel made his long-awaited preseason debut for the Cleveland Browns, and while the rookie quarterback showcased accuracy and poise, his performance wasn't without flaws. Against the Philadelphia Eagles, Gabriel delivered an encouraging stat line, but two costly turnovers reminded fans and coaches alike that growth and adjustment will be key in his NFL journey. Dillon Gabriel balances accuracy with costly errors in first NFL appearance The Browns gave Gabriel the starting nod in Saturday's preseason clash, and the third-round pick out of Oklahoma looked polished in stretches. He completed 13 of 18 passes for 143 yards, showing confidence in the pocket and a strong command of the offense. His timing on quick throws and ability to sustain drives were highlights, especially during a two-minute drill that ended with a field goal. However, one glaring mistake dominated the broadcast discussion. In the first half, Gabriel forced a throw into heavy coverage near the sideline, resulting in a pick-six for Philadelphia. It was his only passing touchdown of the night—unfortunately, for the other team. Gabriel also mishandled a fumble exchange with running back Pierre Strong, adding to the turnovers that blemished an otherwise efficient debut. Unc & Ocho CHECK to see if Dillon Gabriel is HIDING from Shedeur Sanders Competition! | Nightcap Despite the miscues, Gabriel orchestrated multiple scoring drives, including one capped off by a rushing touchdown from Ahmani Marshall. He absorbed two sacks, one of which left him with no chance as free rushers swarmed the backfield, but he displayed composure under pressure, a promising sign for a rookie quarterback adjusting to NFL speed. Dillon Gabriel gives Browns coaches more to evaluate Importantly, the Browns' quarterback competition remains wide open. Veterans Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, and Shedeur Sanders did not play, leaving Gabriel and Tyler Huntley to handle duties. While Gabriel's debut won't push him ahead in the depth chart, it added valuable data for the coaching staff as they evaluate the future at quarterback. Also Read: Miami Dolphins cornerback Ethan Bonner suffers hamstring injury in preseason game vs. Lions What stood out most about Gabriel's performance was his accuracy and maturity, traits scouts expected from a player with extensive college experience. While questions remain about his long-term upside, his ability to keep the offense moving and respond after mistakes offers a foundation to build upon.
