‘National Anthem' Sets Hulu Release With Wolfe Video & LD Entertainment
Nearly a year after its theatrical release, director Luke Gilford's feature debut National Anthem is streaming just in time for Pride Month.
Wolfe Video and LD Entertainment will release the LGBTQ western drama Thursday, June 5 exclusively on Hulu, along with several queer titles from Wolfe's library that hit the streamer on June 1.

'National Anthem is a film about the search for belonging,' said Gilford in a statement. 'I'm thrilled that the film will be streaming on Hulu, making it accessible to even more viewers who might connect with its reimagined vision of the American West, and perhaps see themselves reflected in it.'
Set in a rural queer ranching community, against the real-life International Gay Rodeo Association, National Anthem stars Plummer as Dylan, a 21-year old construction worker in rural New Mexico, who joins a community of queer ranchers and rodeo performers in search of their own version of the American dream.
The film, which premiered at SXSW in 2023, also stars Eve Lindley, Mason Alexander Park, Rene Rosado and Robyn Lively. Written by David Largman Murray, Kevin Best and Gilford, it was produced by Mickey Liddell, Pete Shilaimon, Kevin Garland, Gina Marcheschi, and Jasmine Daghighian, with executive producers Beau Ward, Jacob Yakob, Michael Glassman, Troy Nankin, Gilford, Zackary Drucker and Murray.
Other Wolfe titles currently streaming on Hulu include Adam (2019), Big Eden (2000), Boy Meets Girl (2014), Elena Undone (2010), Hurricane Bianca (2016), Loving Annabelle (2006), A Perfect Ending (2012) and Sordid Lives (2000).

Why Did [Spoiler] Get Arrested in General Hospital?
In the June 5 episode of General Hospital, a key character's downward spiral hit a new low as they were arrested. While the day started with tension and emotional confrontations, it ended with Natalia Ramirez getting handcuffed. The arrest didn't come out of nowhere because it was the result of a long buildup of personal and public failures that have left Natalia isolated, unstable, and desperate. Natalia got arrested for a drunk driving (DUI) incident, however, the real story lies in the emotional breakdown that led her there. Natalia, drowning her sorrows in alcohol, had a heated argument with her son, Marco, at the Metro Court pool. Marco had demanded she behave nicely with Lucas, but she didn't pay heed to that. Instead, she was more focused on asking him to convince his sister to forgive her. However, Marco asked her to leave him and his half-sister, Blaze, alone, refusing to help mend their fractured relationship. Feeling isolated, Natalia turned to Sonny Corinthos for comfort. He offered kind words, suggesting Marco might eventually forgive her. But instead of heeding his advice, Natalia made a reckless call to her ex-husband, Jenz Sidwell, declaring he owed her and she was coming to collect. Before she could follow through, however, she was pulled over and arrested for driving under the influence. For more context, Natalia's recent breakdowns and struggles are happening because of her strained relationship with her two children, Marco and Blaze. Earlier, during Pride Month, Natalia made homophobic remarks about the LGBTQ+ community, even mocking Blaze's relationship with Kristina. Unbeknownst to her, Ava recorded the offensive comments and leaked them, leading to a public scandal. Blaze, devastated by her mother's betrayal, fired Natalia as her manager. The fallout damaged Blaze's career, with Deception nearly dropping her, and her record label severing ties. Meanwhile, Marco, who is openly gay, has repeatedly clashed with Natalia over her bigotry. It's a month rich in comedy nights, parties, opportunities to build community, and places where LGBTQ+ history will be set in the spotlight. Bernhard has been a singular and outspoken voice for decades, whether it was during her run on Roseanne as one of TV's only openly lesbian characters or more recent roles, like the upcoming Josh Safdie film, Marty Supreme. ($84.24–$141.92) June 17, at InBound Brew Co. in Minneapolis Pitch-A-Friend is a unique combination of a singles mixer and a game show. People take to the stage with a 3-to-5-minute PowerPoint presentation to pitch one of their single friends to a crowd of other singles. It's ridiculous and fun. The presentations are positive and heartfelt pitches for why you should date their friend. Pitch-A-Friend will also host nights on June 11 at Rail Werks Brewing Depot in Columbia Heights, June 27 at Wild Mind Ales in Minneapolis, and July 10 at Fat Pants Brewing in Eden Prairie. Every night is LGBTQ+-friendly, but the June 17 one is specifically the group's "Queer Night" event. (free) June 21, at Insight Brewing in Minneapolis Dubbed a "charity party for cats and queers," Insight is bringing back its patio party filled with vendors, artists, beer, and cats that need some scratches. The free event, cosponsored by Twin Cities Pride and Ruff Start Rescue, will have a "kitten snuggling booth" where 100% of proceeds for entering go toward supporting Ruff Start's shelters. There will also be live music from Daphne Jane, Riley Skinner, and Chastity Brown. (free entry) June 22, at First Avenue in Minneapolis Wrestling and pride? If that's surprising, you probably haven't been paying close attention to F1rst Wrestling or seen its "F1rst Wrestling Is For Everyone" t-shirts. Wrestlepalooza will include burlesque from Sweetpea and Co., music by The Denim Boys, and plenty of wrestling. Proceeds will benefit OutFront Minnesota. ($45.90) June 27–29, at Loring Park in Minneapolis Minnesota's largest free pride festival returns — sans Target — from June 27 to 29. It starts with the Twin Cities Pride Youth Night on June 27 from 4–8 p.m. Then the party runs throughout the weekend with three stages of entertainment, artists, more than 650 vendors, heaps of food trucks, a couple of beer gardens, a cannabis garden, and lots more around Loring Park. The festival still hasn't outlined all of the entertainment that will be happening, but that will undoubtedly be coming soon. And don't forget the Twin Cities Pride Parade. That'll roll down Hennepin Avenue from 3rd Street to Spruce from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. (free) June 27, at Minneapolis Sculpture Garden A day before the Twin Cities Pride Festival takes over Loring Park, cross Lyndale Avenue to taste the wares from heaps of local craft breweries in some good company. ($59.43–$74.93) June 28, at First Avenue in Minneapolis Flip Phone, the Minnesota-founded event promoter that hosts drag brunches all year, has a lot going on in June. That includes this First Avenue party starring RuPaul's Drag Race vet Anetra. The full June lineup for Flip Phone is extensive, including more than a dozen drag brunches with themes like Prince, Bad Bunny, the 2000s, and Shrek vs. SpongeBob. It's also got a one-woman show with Suzie Toot, a Pride Parade viewing party, and a Pride Disco Block Party on June 29. ($29.12) Various dates and locations There are a lot of Pride-themed movie series playing in June. That includes series at The Parkway Theater and Alamo Drafthouse, as well as other locations.
