The star joined EastEnders three years ago as troubled teen Amy Mitchell.
She has taken on some of the toughest storylines as the troubled teen - from self-harm to mental health struggles.
But now the young star is ready for something very different that's worlds away from soapland.
This Christmas, Ellie will be swapping the drama of Walford for the magic of panto, taking centre stage as Belle in Beauty and the Beast at Fairfield Halls.

Ellie's no stranger to the panto spotlight - as she reveals she's already a seasoned pro.
She told the Mirror: "I started panto when I was six. I did it for four years, age six to 10. It was the best time ever.
"Isn't it every girl's dream to play a princess at least once in their lives?"
And she even met her future co-stars Tilly Keeper (who played Louise Mitchell) and Zack Morris (who played Keegan Baker) long before her Albert Square debut.

Ellie added: "We trained together at the D&B Academy of Performing Arts.
'It was quite fun seeing them when I got there. I was like, 'Oh, my goodness!''
EastEnders legend makes a shock return just days after quitting Walford
Panto is no walk in the park, with gruelling double-show days and barely any time off.
But Ellie said that soap life has prepped her well.

'EastEnders has taught me a lot,' she explained.
'We film 14 scenes a day and we're there five days a week. If a scene's not going to plan, you've got to think on your feet.
Soap's most harrowing teen storylines
We take a look at other harrowing teen soap storylines from soaps Coronation Street, EastEnders, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks.
Belle Dingle's schizophrenia in Emmerdale - Belle's (Eden Taylor-Draper) traumatic journey in Emmerdale took a dark turn when, after accidentally killing her best friend Gemma at just 16, her mental health began to spiral.
The storyline, which saw Belle struggling with her grief and guilt, showcased her battle with hearing Gemma's voice inside her head, leading to a dramatic decline in her well-being.
Hannah Ashworth's anorexia in Hollyoaks - Viewers were horrified as they watched Hannah (Emma Rigby), a seemingly innocent teen, spiral into dangerous behavior, starving herself in an attempt to achieve what she thought was the ideal body.
As Hannah's condition worsened, the storyline became more intense, culminating in her being hospitalised for two months as she fought for her life.
Bethany Platt's grooming ordeal in Coronation Street - Vulnerable schoolgirl, played by Lucy Fallon, was at the centre of one of Corrie's darkest storylines to date when she fell under the spell of her older boyfriend and sexual predator.
The controversial scenes saw Nathan groom and manipulate the 16-year-old before coercing her into sleeping with his friends, with one of them raping her.
Whitney Dean's abuse from Tony in EastEnders - Since the age of 12, she had been in a twisted relationship with her stepmum Bianca's boyfriend, Tony King. The predator had groomed young Whit (Shona McGarty), making her believe she was in love and planning to run away with him.
On her 16th birthday, the traumatised teen finally revealed the years of abuse to Bianca. Tony was swiftly sent to prison sentenced for 13 years.
"You learn to trust your instincts.'
And although she's stepping away for a sprinkle of festive magic, fans won't have to wait long to see her back in Walford.

'They're just letting me have a couple of weeks off - and then I'll be back,' she confirmed.

Coronation Street legend disowns own brother after discovering huge deceit

Coronation Street's Kevin Webster disowned his brother Carl Webster as various truths began to come out on Friday's episode of the ITV soap about each of their lies Coronation Street's Kevin Webster disowned his brother Carl as various truths began to come out on Friday's episode. ‌ The legendary character, who has been played by Michael Le Vell on ITV's flagship soap since 1983, was dealt a surprise earlier this year when his long-lost brother Carl (Jonathan Howard) arrived in Weatherfield, and has since employed him in his garage. The mechanic was diagnosed with testicular cancer some months ago and managed to beat the disease but amid suspicions that Carl is growing more and more attracted to his wife Abi (Sally Carman), he had decided to let everyone think he was still suffering. ‌ Amongst all of this, Carl has been using the garage to do some dodgy deals with Fiona Morley (Sara Poyzer), and the pair were discussing their plot to steal a £30,000 car whilst they tried to stand away from prying eyes in the ginnel. He warned her that the chance to take it was 'now or never' and she soon snuck into the unlocked garage, took the car and sped off. But unfortunately for them, Kevin had overheard the entire conversation when he came out of number 13, and watched on as the con woman drove off. Kevin chased after the her, but struggled to catch his breath and had to stop. He was seen by Glenda Shuttleworth (Jodie Prenger) and the Rovers barmaid insisted on taking him off to hospital, unaware that he is lying about his cancer diagnosis. ‌ Carl rushed to see Kevin in the hospital, where the pair ended up having a confrontation as various truths began to come out. Kevin began to tell Carl that he felt 'like an idiot' and told his brother to 'drop the act' when he pretended to be exasperated at the news that a car had been stolen. When Kevin accused Carl of lying to him, Carl knew exactly how to hit back. Just before entering Kevin's room, Carl had asked the doctor if his sudden deterioration had anything to do with his chemotherapy, to which the doctor had informed him that such treatment had finished 'weeks ago'. Having worked out that Kevin had lied to him and everyone else, Carl asked Kevin how he could possibly lie about having cancer, he tried to insist that he did it to save his marriage. Viewers will remember that Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) previously rumbled Kevin's secret, having been familiar with how treatment works thanks to his daughter Hope's own battle several years ago. Abi believes that Kevin 'isn't responding' to the treatment, and when she tried to discuss the idea that Jack (Kyran Bowes) needed to be told more about his dad's condition, he tried to throw her off the subject. ‌ And in one final scene, Carl arrived at Kevin's house to try to have it out with him but was warned to 'make it quick'. Carl protested that Abi deserved to know about Kevin's condition, but the mechanic insisted that his brother will become part of the lie and go along with it because he has the power to 'shop' him at any time. In making things absolutely clear, Kevin told Carl: "I felt like I should've done more, being the older one, made you feel like you belonged. I could've done something about it, but I was too wrapped up in my own world. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for freeing me from all that guilt. Part of me started to believe that you didn't exist. Now I can go back to that. You are dead to me. Never had, never will." ‌ Fans of ITV's flagship soap opera will know that Kevin was right to have his suspicions when it came to Carl and Abi, and that the pair are set to give into temptation and embark on an affair. In the days before Kevin's brother arrived on the cobbles, he was famously married to Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor) and they had daughters Rosie (Helen Flanagan) and Sophie (Brooke Vincent) together. They initially split up when Kevin had an an affair with Natalie Barnes (Denise Welch) but they remarried in 2002. Their marriage survived numerous infidelities on both sides, but ultimately crumbled when Kevin fathered Jack with Molly Dobbs (Vicky Binns) before she died in the 2010 tram crash as part of the programme's 50th anniversary. Carl is the son of Kevin's dad Bill Webster (Peter Armitage) and his second wife Elaine (Judy Gridley) and spent most of his life in Germany with his parents until he arrived on the Manchester backstreet earlier this year. In real life, Jonathan spent 10 years in LA and working alongside big-name stars including Brad Pitt and Anthony Hopkins, but the 38-year-old actor ranks landing a part in Corrie among his greatest achievements. He told The Mirror: "Being in Coronation Street is just as big a thrill as being in a Hollywood film or an American TV series. It's all the same, everyone's telling stories, whether it's a big $200m movie or a soap like Corrie. As a Lancashire lad born and raised, the dream was to be in Coronation Street – that was the ceiling, so it feels wonderfully surreal to now be acting with people like Kevin Webster that I watched religiously as a kid. My friends ask me, 'what you have been up to today?' and I reply 'I took Tracy Barlow for a drink in the Rovers Return!' It's just incredible to say these things."

Exit story confirmed for Coronation Street character months after debut

The romance between Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) and Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) in Coronation Street hasn't been an easy one, considering that Theo has had a lot to overcome in order to come to terms with his sexuality and the fact that he's found love with a man. We've learned that Theo was brought up in an environment where being gay was perceived as sinful and, as a result, Theo has spent most of his life in denial about being gay. He married a woman called Danielle (Natalie Anderson) and went on to have two children who are now teenagers, all the while trying to suppress his true sexuality. Meeting Todd meant he finally began to understand what he wanted from life and what he needed to do to achieve that, which meant a painful break-up of his marriage and navigating his children's feelings about it. Theo had a major setback when a character called Noah (Richard Winsor) appeared in the Street. At a younger age, Theo was put through so-called conversion therapy to try to stop him being gay, and Noah was part of that. Seeing him again terrified Theo and gave him panic attacks. After Noah recently invited Theo to a meeting to 'save his soul,' Todd went along and ended up getting into a fight with Noah and physically lashing out at him. Following this, Todd is instructed to attend a restorative justice session with Noah. He grits his teeth and goes along. It's a horrible experience as Noah is cruel and manipulative and exploits the chance to goad Todd as much as possible. As soon as the session is over, Todd leaves, in a hurry to get away. Because of this he forgets his coat and when he goes back to get it he overhears Noah talking on the phone to Theo's wife Danielle – who is obviously now Noah's girlfriend. Todd drops this bombshell when Danielle later brings Miles and Millie to the bistro to see Theo. All hell breaks loose, with Miles incensed by Todd's meddling and trying to punch him. Theo gets in the way of this and accidentally ends up hitting Miles himself, and he's mortified to see his son sprawling on the ground, hurt. More Trending When Billy (Daniel Brocklebank) calls round the following day he's surprised to see that Todd has slept on the sofa. Todd explains that now that Noah and Danielle are a couple, Theo isn't allowed to see his kids – and Theo hasn't taken it well. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Billy suggests that Todd should try speaking to Danielle about it and he meets up with her, aiming to convince her that Theo is a good dad who deserves to see his children. This backfires, though, when Theo becomes furious to discover that Todd has been taking Billy's advice about how to solve Theo's problems. Emmerdale legend in danger as Joe Tate sets out to destroy her

Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) is a man on a mission in Emmerdale. Ever since he broke Kim Tate's (Claire King) trust, Joe has been determined to rebuild their relationship. When Kim mentioned her grand plan to him a couple of days later, he was more than happy to be appointed assistant. Said plan is to buy all of the land that surrounds Home Farm, so the Tates can become more powerful and richer than ever before. It's quite the task, but both Joe and Kim are determined to make it work. With Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) currently refusing to budge with Annie's farmland, Joe turned his attention back to Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) in tonight's episode. Yesterday, he got word that she had another fine to pay post-slurry spill, and knew that was the exact moment to strike. Because Joe offered to buy Butlers Farm at a time Moira felt vulnerable, it seemed tempting to her. She could see the benefits of running the farm as a tenant, without the business stress alongside it. Moira had a conversation with Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) about this, and he said he will support her, whatever she decides to do. Very close to signing the contract offer, Moira then made a huge discovery. Outside the new stables, Joe was having a conversation with Noel, the man who told Moira yesterday that her appeal to the water company had been declined. Listening in on the conversation, Moira was disgusted to learn that Joe had paid Noel to deliberately give her bad news about the appeal. At Home Farm a while later, Moira arrived and confirmed to Joe that she absolutely won't be giving him Butlers Farm. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Joe was incredibly frustrated that evening. Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) assumed that without Moira and Robert's land, the plan couldn't go ahead. More Trending Er, wrong.
